cPanel has the most features among the webserver management solutions we have tried. Not only is it feature-packed, the features are also well made and useful. cPanel's best feature, though, is the ease of use. Setting up a domain, installing WordPress, and managing files, databases, permissions, and metrics has never been easier! I also love the Softaculous installer that is compatible with cPanel.

Inconvénients

The pricing system changed recently, and it is not as affordable as it once was.

Avantages

cPanel is my favorite part of web hosting management. All the options are available at the click of a button. Webapps are easy to install and set up, and there are very handy file and email managers available.

Inconvénients

I have been a cPanel & WHM user for the better part of the last 10 years and I have yet to find anything that I dislike. The updates are only making it better!

It is a very reliable solution for web hosting management. It has helped me improve my productivity by simplifying everything in one place. With all the features that it packs, it has been made very easy for me to install websites, set up domains while also creating backups. The community and support is very helpful to learn and implement new features. In addition to being feature-packed it is a very reliable software, I have never experienced any crashes.

Inconvénients

The learning curve was bit long for me to be able to optimally utilize the features.
The subscription price has increased considerably over the past year.
User interface can be improved.

Avantages

To make it short, is the best, safest, most complete and stable hosting panel availble. Price is reasonable and support is excellent.

Interface is still a bit "old", not working well on mobile browsers.

cPanel has all the features necessary to manage a web server for web hosting. Further, it allows fine-grained permission control for the users. The end-user interface is very intuitive and easy to use. File manager, autossl etc make things easy. Many free and paid plugins are available for automated script installation like WordPress, Drupal and so on.

Inconvénients

cPanel is very expensive and the price is increasing day by day. They introduced per user license price quota, instead of per-server license pricing, one and half year ago. This made it very difficult for large organizations with many users to afford it.

cPanel/WHM has made it easier than ever to manage many, many websites. With our constant growth, it's extremely important that we can quickly add sites, manage site/server settings, limit profiles, etc. cPanel does all that and more and keeps all of our servers running smoothly.

There was quite a learning curve to learning and setting up the software, but once it is set up it is easier the ever to manage!

WHM removes many of the obstacles of running a hosting service, by providing all the functionality you need, without the requirement of understanding all the underlying technology. Users are able to concentrate on their business, rather than learning and maintaining all the processes behind the scenes.

Inconvénients

There is a recurring monthly (or annual) fee, rather than a one-off payment. However in my experience this software has paid for itself many times over. Due to the nature of managing a complex system, sometimes problems do arise, however there is a wealth of information available on the web, and the support I have received has been very effective.

Avantages

I like that I can tailor hosting packages for my clients by a few clicks and some parameter fields. Then I can reuse those packages under one page where I can see all packages.

Inconvénients

The web interface is older looking and not as friendly as modern-day websites. Some simply web design could really tie it all in.

Avantages

I like that cPanel keeps their platform updated with the latest security trends. I think cPanel team does a great job keeping track of these security treats.

Inconvénients

The user interface hasn't been updated in years. I think it can improve a lot.

Easy of use and great & comprensible access to sometime complex functions of the webserver and backend in general. For me, it is the golden standard of usability in a complex app environment.

It could be expensive for a non massive or retail app. Like having it in your own home brew web server.

I think the API is by far the best of this software, it allows a great deal of automation.
The documentation is just so great and so detailed you probably won't get lost for both basic usage and API calls
The User Interface is clean, you don't get overwhelmed which makes it easy to use.

Inconvénients

Feature are split between multiple API versions, it'd be great if all those things could be consolidated to just one version that requires one method of calling that would definitely make life easier.
It your internet connection is weak you may keep getting logged out

Avantages

If you use cPanel just to deal with primary purposes, that's all you need. It has options for almost everything that you ever need for managing your space on the web. You can deal with emails and backup everything in just a few clicks. I like the control that cPanel gives to their customers.

Inconvénients

For advanced control, it's better to switch on something like Plesk. If you figure out that your needs are bigger than options from cPanel you can always grow with some alternatives with more features.

In each update they have been adding functionalities so that the administration is increasingly simple.
The support is very good, there is always someone following the tickets.

Although there are bugs that are detected by the community so far they are not great and they all have a solution.

WHM is a must have for large hosting companies as it is very solid, updated quite often and has a very solid support system and quite innovative.

the price shot through the roof with the pricing change which will have hurt a lot of small hosting businsses as well as large enterprises.

Makes website management and hosting easy for a beginner or person not IT savvy. It provides a better user interface for file management and also email functions.

The email capacity is smaller to have uses with heavy files or data. Then the security in place for email scams or theft is not robust

I have been using this panel for several years and what I highlight is how complete it is and how easy it is to use. Intuitive and practical. I definitely don't need more to manage my websites.

I do not find many defects. maybe some functionalities could be done a little faster. but beyond that it seems like a great tool

cPanel has a ton of features, it's great for hosting services for which it is designed, but is also great for managing corporate websites when you don't want to continue with your shared hosting and want to move without breaking things.

Some of the default setup isn't required. It would be great in the installation process if cPanel would ask the purpose of the setup, such as shared hosting or business hosting, and based on those, it would kind off recommend and optimise the installation.

It takes the guess work out of running CLI commands. It does it all for you so you don't have to worry about making mistakes.

Pricing models are a bit steep especially for smaller businesses. We don't host other people's web apps or web sites, just our own and the pricing model should be able to reflect that.

When I purchased hosting from Godaddy, it came with Cpanel. It is really easy to use and well supported. I never really needed assistance on learning how to use it. A straightforward user interface makes it seem similar to the way you use your desktop. A big plus is that it's stable. You can change php versions, and install software, etc...

Well, I suppose one con is that if you want to setup a cron job, you will need to know how to use the command line in unix/linux. This may be tough.

Powerful tool to manage hosting environment. If you have root access you can set up a whole lot of things. It's pretty much a standard solution for hosting companies. Has a lot of online forums with a lot of information on how to use/configure it.

The alternative to professional hosting management is plesk and directadmin.

The best part of WHM is the ability to add on manage all of our hosting accounts with a quick click of the mouse. You can increase and decrease disk space, cancel accounts and manage bandwidth with ease.

Quite costly for a single license, only beneficial if you host multiple clients. Not worth the investment until you build up a clientele.

What I like most about this software is that it's fully loaded with all premium tools I need in running my sites. It helps me in creating and forwarding custom mails which I've never see any tool like it before.

cPanel I can say is best place for creating any type of website cause it carries all CMS like WordPress, SMF, Joomla and more. this makes me love it most.

I love how easy WHM has made it to add accounts on a server, hardly any IT / technical knowledge is needed in order to create one - just add domain, add a login, click create, so easy. Also what I like about WHM is the shear amount of customisability you can give with the permissions - you can add or remove as much as you like on an account-by-account bases.

Sometimes the UI is a little annoying as I can't always find what I need to (there's so many options), and it's not always logically laid out.

The best part of cpanel that i liked most is that it provides a comprehensive analysis of the server at glance like, how much memory is used, the I/O process, and other parts. Also, the WHM panel allows me to create multiple users for the same website that is part. Like you can control everything without any coding.

There is nothing i least like in cpanel since 2016.

In terms of security and privacy there are some work to do, I don't like at all that the admin user has complete access to mailboxes of all users, this mean admin can read e-mails of all users and that is not a good practice at all.
