Where do I begin? 1Password brings peace of mind to a world full of security vulnerabilities while making life so much simpler. Between browser extensions and their mobile app you are always covered with an easy autofill option for all of those daily account sign-ons. With the added ability to store credit card information filling out payment forms has never been easier. When creating new accounts 1Password auto prompts you to create a new password profile helping to ensure that every new profile is accounted for. 1Password is incredibly easy to use while helping ensure you never forget another password again all the while still maintaining top security.

Inconvénients

The only drawback that I can currently think of is the change over to a subscription based service. As a legacy user I don't wish to have to pay yet another monthly or yearly subscription fee just to add a new family member to my 1Password universe. I wish there was the option for a one time fee as well as the subscription option especially for legacy users such as myself.

Avantages

I appreciate the security and convenience that 1Password provides in managing my passwords. It saves me the hassle of having to remember all my passwords, and it allows me to create strong, individual passwords for each account. Furthermore, its two-factor authentication, auto-fill and password sharing features increase its security and make it even more user-friendly.

Inconvénients

The least liked thing about 1Password is that it can be difficult to set up and configure depending on the user’s level of technical expertise. It also requires users to remember a master password, which can be difficult for some people. Additionally, the cost for the premium version can be prohibitive for some users.

Security and once installed ease of use. Customer support is generally swift and always solid and genuinely interested in my satisfaction that a snag is resolved.

The interplay with the free trial versions and and family sharing set up seems clunky and foxed me initially. Once sorted though the system is superb.

I have used 1Pssword for many years now and find it invaluable for remembering, creating and storing all my passwords and login details. I use it with Firefox and it works very well for all login requirements.

1Password used to offer a one-time purchase. That is no longer the case and I miss having that option. This seems the norm with many software purchases going to a monthly or annual subscription. But it all adds up each year!

Avantages

It's supremely reliable and efficient in everything that it needs to do. Plugins are available for all major browsers, and they all work well. The macOS and iOS apps work quickly and flawlessly. They are open about their systems for data storage and encryption. It's just never let me down.

Their recent collaboration with Troy Hunt to integrate is just one example of how they work constantly to improve their product.

Inconvénients

It's difficult to criticise 1Password, but I suppose it's slightly too easy to become locked out of their web Team management console.

Personally I'm not a fan of the new pay-monthly business model. I sync using iCloud, and software updates are nice, but something I'd rather buy as and when I want to. Thankfully, they honour my original permanent license purchase to this day (that's for my personal use. We have a subscription for our team).

I use it on Mac and it is integrated into all the browsers I use, which are Chrome and Safari. You go to a site to log in and simply click a button, enter your master password, and you are logged in.

If you use it from the app itself, it's even easier. You just click on one button and it goes to the login page fills it in and logs you in right away.

All you have to remember is the one master password.

It even has an app on the iPhone and iPad to use, plus I have access to my most used passwords right on my Apple Watch.

Inconvénients

Every once in a while it will lose the button on Safari and I will have to reinstall it. I think this happens when Safari auto-updates. Minor, but irritating.

Avantages

Does one thing great - It looks after your passwords for all your websites! This allows you to create one master strong password to access the 1Password software and then for every site login, you can create a random 64 character plus password which are super secure from brute force and other attacks. The manager also tells you if you have duplicate passwords, how old your passwords are and the "watchtower" feature lets you know if a site/user account may have been hacked and suggests to create a new password (ie. Like the "Have i been pwned" site which you can search your email to see if it has been compromised on a site).

Also great for sharing passwords across different teams in an organization, as well as allowing employees to maintain their own separate Personal Vault of passwords in the same application.

Inconvénients

Sometimes in Chrome you need to fully close your browser and/or reinstall the browser extension to get the software working again. Doesn't happen often and generally its likely from Chrome updates, but its only a minor irritant.

Everything has changed since my team started using 1Password. In a short time it has become the reference point for storing all accesses and sensitive data.
Our company's digital security has taken a huge step forward since using 1Password. no more excel files with clear text passwords, no slips of paper, post-its on Macs.
Thanks to 1Password we have been able to raise the security level of all the hundreds of platforms and websites we use, allowing us to create unique and complex passwords for each of them.

I would like a more seamless integration with browsers (especially Chrome) and Apple operating systems.

It does what ones expect: store all my password and other data, helps in generating new passwords, the browser plugins help in signing in almost automatically, etc. And it does all this flawlessly.

Two features I particularly like:

1. Watchtower checking the quality or the duplication of passwords
2. The incorporation of 2FA facilities. It makes logging in to places like, github, really easy even with 2FA.

Actually, I use the system for more than what it was intended for: as in encrypted database for all kinds of data that does not necessarily need to be secret (like the list of my personal books). It is just so convenient to have all types of data in one place (the "vault" approach is perfectly good for this).

Inconvénients

As I said, I use 1Password as a database, and the system is really there except for one thing: I would like to be able to set up my own record templates, instead of being dependent on the ones provided by the software. Those are of course useful, but one may want some personalized ones...

1Password is simple to use and manage not just passwords, but notes, credit cards, identities, software licenses and more. Best of all it is easy to organise all this sensitive information in to different vaults, which you can share securely across your devices and friends, colleagues and family.

I would like it if 1Password would let you copy all the information in an entry, including it's title. Sadly the only way to do this is by editing the entry, which is extra work and risks corruption.

My [our] favorite thing about 1Password is that it's hardware-based (as opposed to cloud-only). In our firm, we deal with lots of client passwords that we prefer to have securely handled on our own encrypted servers. 1Password has allowed us to do this and the app is easy to use, works on desktop and mobile, and is frequently updated.

We least enjoy the fact that 1Password's moving slowly toward being cloud-based. The most recent update of the browser extension now requires a log-in to function. Secondly, through the app experience, we're being asked to upgrade or sign-up for an online service. We've updated more slowly now as a result so we can stay cloud-free for privacy concerns.

We use this 1Password for a very long time because in this time we have a lot of accounts and remembering all passwords is very chaotic so that is why we found 1Password it is very awesome and it manages all account passwords and has very good security also and easy to use, it can generate password so no need to make a different password, truly recommended

When I reboot my phone (when doing iOS update for example). It asks me for my password instead of just requiring faceID, when i want to quickly fill out login form. In order to turn the faceID on, I have to enter the password in the app (entering the password when doing quick autofill won't turn faceID on). I understand this is probably required because of security, but it is super annoying, especially when in public...

At our agency, we are now working mostly remotely and have a lot of internal accounts that we must store safely and keep protected. This tool is incredibly handy. The Chrome extension is so extremely useful and auto-fills logins and passwords directly into the tool. You can even have it autofill it without letting people see what the password is, which is an added/bonus safety feature that we use almost exclusively. It's so nice that you can also enter custom fields and other notes and information into each vault and organize the vaults by project, team, client, and have private vaults for your own personal usage. The tool is safe and secure.

Inconvénients

The tool can be a tad clunky to navigate at first and sometimes the extension works a bit slow, however, for the minimal cost and quality of security, it's not a major issue at all. It's very simple to implement once you get used to it.

I setup a 1Password account to be used as an account for a non-profit that I'm working for. I sent them an e-mail asking about non-profit pricing, and they responded pretty quickly with some substantially lower pricing on the teams and business product. I provided the necessary documentation to show that I was indeed working for a 501c3 non-profit and they applied the discount to my account quickly.

I really like the feature set of the product. I'd say that it's pretty comparable to LastPass in functionality because it provides all of the benefits that LastPass does (mobile app, browser extension, etc). I also like that it provides you with a custom domain for you to login with (it's really great to give this to users). It makes the password manager feel a little more personal.

It's really easy to setup vaults, and they have a lot of great pre-loaded categories of password types to use (Login, Web, etc) so I don't need to make my own templates.

Inconvénients

I would say that the only thing that I really don't like about 1Password is the fact that when I login on a new browser and go to add a new password entry, the password generator utility sets itself back to the default settings (that don't include generating password with symbols). I would love it if once you set your preferences for password generation, that it would stay consistent among all of my logged in sessions.

I love the 1Password IOS app. It has been my preferred password keeper for at least 3-4 years, and I doubt I'll ever change. I love that it can use FaceID to unlock the app on my iPhone, plus the UI is simple and easy to use. It also has a section for credit cards and notes, which comes in handy. I have 237 accounts stored in my 1Password, and it will autofill these in websites and apps that allow this feature. This beats having to remember your login for hundreds of different accounts. It is fast and simple to add new login information, which means I don't forget to do this each time I setup a new account.

Inconvénients

The only thing that is a little bit confusing is why sometimes I have to enter the master password mainually, and othertimes it will automatically use my face or fingerprint. This is a extremely small announce. Other then that I have no complaints.

The application is fast and reliable. Passwords get stored securely and what mostly fascinates me is that the auto-fill feature really works all over the websites and it can be tweaked to work on local machines. Everything can be organized into folders and tagged. Finding a password is really easy.

Company is providing the tool for free and I love the fact that you can manage all of passwords in one central place. When we are required to change our passwords for security reasons, 1 Password becomes really handy. I also love the fact that this tool is integrated with most if not all the apps so that I don't have to type in the passwords manually.

Having some issues with synching feature where I manually need to sync the database to use across different devices and platforms. Also, the experience can be more fluid where the users have to confirm the popups to use the tool.

The ability to use 1Password on all devices, use my Apple Watch to open the app on my Mac, use Face ID or Touch ID to open the app on the iPad & iPhone, makes it extremely easy to use.

I really like that I can have one log on for all of my passwords and that I can change those passwords with ease because of the password generator. The other reason this is wonderful is because my husband and I can store our passwords in the same place so if anything happens to either of us, we have access to everything we need all in one place for our family.

Sometimes there isn't a sync with a new password that is created when I log into a website so I have to manually log into 1password and find the website then manually copy over the password. This slows me down. The user experience on the phone isn't as great as the experience on the computer either.

Inconvénients

The default new password is set to 20 characters, which kind of bugs me. But it also seems to be a recommended step by IT specialists, so I just need to get used to it. Other than that, there isn't anything bugs me.

This isn't really an issue with 1Password, but sometimes the OS or Browser I'm using tries to take over the password management and autofill options on web forms.

In my daily workflow, I use a couple of different tools, apps, and services. Since I am a privacy advocate, I use different passwords across all my accounts. It would be impossible to remember all of them. With 1Password I can not only keep track of all my account credentials, I can also make sure that I always set strong passwords. With just a few clicks I can monitor all my passwords, search for duplicates or highlight weak ones. It is pure joy to use.

Inconvénients

Every now and then, the browser extension of 1Password does some weird things. My main browser nowadays is Firefox and it happens sometimes, that the Browser Extension of 1Password does not unlock within the browser. I then need to unlock the desktop app so the browser extension does unlock too. Often, issues with the browser extension can be solved by closing and reopening the browser, not ideal but it does the trick for me.

I can immediately pull up a password, user ID and pertinent security questions or codes with a tap of my finger and a short search, then copy and paste without keyboard interaction. The newest version auto updates constantly and is virtually glitch-free. While you can use the password generator, I usually create my own password, which is equally easy within the program. My spouse and I share this software but with our own independent "vaults", but also a few items, such as routers and credit cards in a shared vault.

Inconvénients

I like everything about this, especially since the latest version came out. The blank fields within each entry could be a little more defined, such as security questions or user ID, but filling in blanks works fine too.

I always think I'm going to remember a password when I set it. Oh, is that the biggest joke. 1Password literally saves me every time. I can access my passwords with ease, I have a systematic way to manage user names and passwords. It alerts me if I am using the same password for security. reasons. I cannot live without it.

As a freelancer, I'm constantly trying new services and setting up various accounts for my clients. I typically have around 14 new logins a month and have a total of around 1,200 logins.

1Password is simple to use and it keeps my logins secure.

A simple cmd+\ either brings up 1Password mini with suggestions based on the website you're on, or auto-fills if there's only one login matching that domain.

Their password generator is excellent, both the traditional random character passwords, as well as their random words password generator.

Password sync between computer and phone is quite handy.

Using 1Password for auto-filling credit card info is nice and easy too.

If I had one gripe it's that I don't use their tagging and vault features as well as I should. That's not their fault, but it's the closest thing to a "con" I can think of.

I love the face-recognition feature that makes it work so well on my iPhone. I haven't had to remember a password (other than the 1) since I got this. I like that it keeps a record of old passwords in case there's ever one of those forms that makes you enter the old one before you can change the password. I've had sites glitch out and 1Password has saved me from the hassle of using "Forgot Password" links to questions or email verifications.

Inconvénients

The initial set up is an ongoing process as you get all of your daily logins loaded as well as the random outliers. But if you stick with it you will find that it is an amazing product and it saves you all kinds of time in the long run.

The only thing you have to do is remembering your master password to access to 1Password and then the game is done. Indeed, the software will storage all your sensible data, from passwords, to payment details and software licenses.

Save your credentials is much more easy thanks to the browser extension. Every time you access to a new online account, 1password will ask you to save your login credentials and then, thanks to the ctrl+\ shortcut, it will easily recall your data and auto-fill the credential fields. It’s so comfortable.

For each platform you are free to save multiple accounts and information, you can also effectively organize your data by setting custom titles to each data series.

Sometimes the shortcut command didn’t work, I still don’t know when and why it happens. Maybe it is my fault.

To proper use the search function you should well organize your name and data in order to avoid any loss of time.

I like that it's an app that from a trusted company that truly focused on security for the user (even Apple uses 1Password internally). The software is easy to use and multi-platform, meaning my Mac, PC, iPhone, iPad, and Chrome browser all work nicely with each other.

The new family plan allows me to securely delegate passwords and sensitive information to my wife, without the use of messaging apps and email.

Creating different "vaults" lets me organize passwords and even archive older ID/Passwords that I don't need but still want to keep on hand for reference.

Inconvénients

I didn't like that the platform transitioned into a fully subscription model. I'm more of a pay-once and own for life kind of user. However, I appreciate the regular updates and new promises of new features. I pay the subscription fee through iTunes which lets me use discounted gift cards.

I still wish they would sell a life-time license product but I understand that this is the way the market is heading.

1Password is still a great value for the money, helping to organize and improve all password-based logins in a clean, easy-to-use interface.

1Pw has been a mainstay for years, but I am disappointed in some of the choices made beginning with 1Password 8, now in early access.

For starters, 1Pw is now Electron-based. An easier development cycle for the devs means a bloated, slower, buggier app for the end users; it's unfortunate as 1Pw on macOS always 'felt' like a well-built native application.

1Pw 8 also has eliminated the option of having local password vaults, severely limiting its usefulness in higher-security environments, where Internet access may be monitored and/or limited.

Avantages

Makes it super easy to record and note new accounts you create on websites and offers to auto save them. When you jump to a website, autofill is stupid easy to the fields that are needed. Also, now with 2FA being almost a requirement, it manages those too and will put those codes on your clipboard and have them ready to paste when you need them. It will also tell you when those sites that use that feature have that available for you so that you are able to turn it on and keep your account secure. Generating passwords for your accounts are really easy too and having different vaults for work / personal are really nice. It's also multi-platform.

Inconvénients

There is not really much not to like. Some may be turned off by the recurring subscription, but that's the market right now and it keeps you passwords safe and encrypted on their website. I really wish they made it easier to do the one time payment offline version, but they have hidden that more on their website to push you towards the subscription model.

Avantages

The vaults/teams functionality allows us to customize what our staff has access to on a very detailed level. It allows both our and our clients information to be stored safely. One other thing I must add is the easy use of 2 factor authentication. Adding those to your accounts is an easy with 1Password and when logging in, it automatically adds the extra code, making it no hassle at all, but strengthens the security by miles. We love it.

Inconvénients

The chrome extension could use a little love. Sometimes it input field visually freezes on us and can be confusing to newer users of the software. The navigation is also a little confusing and as a user, seeing which vault you're currently operating when using the search function can be a little confusing. Apart from that, it's great and definitely still usable.

The functionality of having one program and one place to access all company passwords is wonderful, especially with the cluttered marketplace of keychain, google passwords, etc. For an enterprise, it's key to have everyone using the same, designated pw library independent of operating systems and browser accounts.

Inconvénients

The plumbing of storing 1PW data in Dropbox and linking that to multiple machines has been hard for me to understand and clunky for our business. We started with 3 pax and that worked well, but as we've grown, not having a dedicated IT person and not having a standard process for onboarding, we've had limited implementation. Now that we've reached 17pax, we've upgraded to a teams account that appears to be solving the clunky patchwork of info and implementation.

1Password keeps all of my passwords in one place, safe and organized. I only need to remember the master password and upon doing so, you get access to your database. Say goodbye to the days of writing down usernames and passwords for each specific website or program and then forgetting where it was you wrote it down at. I have it both on my home computer as an extension as well as on my mobile phone. It also allows you to save credit card information.

If you need or want to share passwords with specific family members, 1Password makes that possible too, without having to worry about unauthorized users getting access.

Inconvénients

I wish there was a free plan option, or at least a free trial but it is worth the cost for that peace of mind. The world is full of people who spend their life trying to scam someone's personal information, specifically those who choose easy passwords/repeat passwords. With 1Password I do not have to have the same password for every website just to ensure that I remember it. 1Password does that for me. Because of this, I have 15+ different passwords that are all saved securely through 1Password.

I used tags poorly when I first started and now I have a mess of them. It's tough to bulk edit and remove tags to clean up my vaults, but that's my own fault. Would be nice to be able to clean those up more easily though.

1Password is very user friendly and easy to navigate. I appreciate the ability to make shared folders with other people where we can put all of our shared passwords, documents, etc. This is a huge help.

I also appreciate the wide variety of information that I can store in 1Password - cards, social security, files, etc. This makes online purchases much easier and safer.

There is nothing I would change about this software. I am very happy to use 1Password.

I have been using 1Password to manage sensitive information with people I work with in different locations. It is easy to use to people who are used to remote working.
It syncs well across devices.
The sharing feature is instant, and easy to manage.

There is no instant "chat" for customer service, which is a bit disappointing since we (paying customers) at times need instant help. They get back to us by email within 1 business day, but still not as "instant" as sometimes I wish it to be.

Avantages

I no longer need to note down my passwords on a separate software or physical notebook. It's so easy to save passwords - as soon as you enter a new password or sign in to a new site, the program will automatically ask if you would like to add it to your library. The Google Chrome extension makes the process even easier. If it weren't for the extension, I probably wouldn't find this software as useful! I also like the vault feature as it makes collaboration and password security really easy!

Inconvénients

For a while, there was a glitch with the Google Chrome extension so I couldn't use it and that really disturbed my workflow. Fortunately, the bug was fixed within the week and I was able to continue business as usual. Another thing to note is that you aren't able to do everything in the app - for example, to properly set up vaults, you need to log into the web app.
