easy to use
Easily accessible information by teachers, students and parents.
Avantages
The program is visual and easy to use.
There is an APP so students have easy access to information AND less paper is required eg. homework handouts, timetables. etc.
The parents can easily access their child's school information (attendance, marks, etc.)
Inconvénients
One can't do a search within the posts in a group
Information doesn't always sync correctly from our main database.

Frances, you can indeed search inside an Edsby group or class. Enter the group or class, and type what you're searching for in the box at the top of the page in the main nav bar. It will search through all the posts in that area first and then the rest of Edsby.

Support staff is Friendly and Knowledgeable
Knowing that parents can view their child's progress realtime. This reduces the costs of time and resources of the front office staff of looking up the student's data / progress and keeping paper copies of records for years beyond.
Avantages
The fact parents can see their children's grades realtime, while the data is safe and secure. Simplicity of use, and a shallow navigation learning curve.
Inconvénients
Just a thought: having your own or preferred backend for the data for schools starting to work with Edsby for the first time.

It's pretty easy to use but I don't like that I do not receive notifications.
Easy collaboration
Avantages
It's easy to collaborate. I like that we have staff groups and can easily update each other. I also like the observation feature to keep up to date with behaviour concerns and issues.
Inconvénients
No notifications is tough because I often miss messages or notifications for things when I am busy.

Your school district may have disabled notifications to date. But notifications today are email only and admittedly fairly limited. Coming soon: new notification capabilities in Edsby including SMS, Edsby app notifications, emails and more. Stay tuned!

What's up! Doc!
Having 2 children in Edsby can sometimes be challenging The only negative I have is once the grade period is over you can not see the grades from the last quarter

Keep up with the students grades

Finding grades after the quarter is over

Thanks for the comments, Jim! Re: not seeing grades from the last quarter, your school district modified Edsby to hide previous quarter results by default. To see them, click the grey box beside Classes on your Edsby home screen when logged in with a web browser. Previous quarters are available in a pull-down list.

Avantages
