I like that I can create private channels for me and my C-executives team and control who access the channel. I like that I can access Slack in different ways like Web based, Software and mobile application which enable me to stay up to date with my Slack community anytime, anywhere. Integrating third party apps like Calendly with Slack is also very useful for me.

Inconvénients

It is really confusing to find the people and conversations where I was tagged or mentioned on Slack. Sometime Slack sent me notification on email which I prefer, and many times it does not. Also, I don't like video calls in Slack, the quality if poor and the feature for sharing my screen is not very functional.

Slack is an awesome team tool! I have used Slack for years now and absolutely love it. It's easy to create channels for different topics and select who has access to each channel. You can build lists, save items for later (bookmarking them), view activity at a glance, direct message other teams members, and even customize and add fun emojis to the platform. Our team has so much fun with the emojis throughout the day! It's actually the best part of our day because it keeps the conversations fun and engaging.

Inconvénients

I have yet to find a way to upload custom backgrounds for the huddle calls. The backgrounds that are available as default in the system don't do well during live calls. The image is poor and it's not a great user experience there.

I love that I can easily communicate with my remote team, schedule impromptu video calls, and integrate apps! I also branded our slack channel to our company's brand!

Slack will notify you with notes about your apps, tags, etc. It can get confusing if you get a lot of notifications (ex. a note that your google drive file might not be accessible to everyone in the channel). You have to close out the notification to remove it from your channel feed. It's only visible to you, but still annoying!

It makes collaboration feel more dynamic because you can react to messages, share updates in real-time, and even automate some tasks to save time.

One of the things I like least about Slack is the potential for information overload. With so many channels, threads, and messages, it can sometimes feel overwhelming to keep up with everything, especially if you're part of a large team or working on multiple projects at once. Notifications can pile up quickly, and it’s easy to miss important messages buried in a sea of conversations.

The now constant reminder of what you can get with a paid subscription is annoying when it shows up in your conversation thread. Although the benefits for having the paid services would be nice, the cost for a small business is too high. If the prices were lower I would definitely pay for the added services.

I love being able to talk to my team from anywhere, and the ability to have "shared" channels where I can communicate with teams outside of our immediate business.

There's not much I dislike about Slack. There's been some minor bugs with the iOS app notification badge but it's really insignificant. Slack is a great tool!

It is easy to learn how to use and it acts as a messaging platform allowing us to tag others in the channel or in the direct messages, the automation using AI bots are exceptional our organization uses it to track the parts for our charging stations that are being shipped and the bot works like a charm, even the huddle option to call someone had all the features like screenshare and messaging on the huddle, overall a very good tool escpixally for professional works.

I did not see an option to clear all the okd chats in direct messages, like if I leave a channel it goes away but in direct message we have to manually delete all the messages and cant just clear the chat when we delete the direct messge which is the worst feature of slack as no one uses it for documentation and also sometimes in the huddle option noice cancellation sometimes won't work this not a device issue as many in my organization face this issue.

While Slack is easily thought to be a hard-to-be-replaced tool, I'm hoping there are some improvements, including canvas, lists and developer mode. With these features considered, Slack will be spot-on. I would have expect the creator or developer to implement more features for other criterion other than just messaging.

Slack is really easy to use on desktop and mobile app. Integrates with Asana. Allows you to set reminders from a message so you can come back to a message someone has sent you. Works really well with the Slack app. If you need to share a photo from your phone to Slack, just upload it on the app as a draft and you can pick it straight up on your desktop to edit the accompanying message. I have two Slack workspaces - one for work and another for a community I'm part of and it's seamless to navigate between the two.

Inconvénients

You have to pay for integrations such as Donut which sends out questions at a set cadence to create engagement. Or Polly for polls and surveys. If you're part of multiple channels and have lots of messages coming in, you may miss a group announcement if not tagged specifically. Formatting a message in Slack is a challenge - hitting the ENTER key send your message rather than bring you down to the next line. I've used Microsoft Teams and feel it's a better product.

The interface and integration capabilities of Slack are several times more modern than similar messaging tools.

Slack has more work to do to overtake market share in Enterprise use cases, meaning those professional teams who are already integrated into the Microsoft environment and prefer Teams. It is often the case where Slack is used on the side, as an addendum, to a team that is already using a different communication platform. I guess this kind of problem would be best remedied by better marketing & outreach to promote Slack’s features and ease.

Video conferencing tool was incorporated recently which has saves me a lot of time since I do not integrate with external web conferencing apps.

Slack's free plan used to save messages for months now I believe after 90 days the old messages are deleted. This is annoying because we have group rules we have to repost often. That's the only downside.

To start, the easy to use interface is a HUGE benefit. If you have ever used any messaging platforms before, jumping into Slack will be seamless. It is intuitive and streamlined. I also love that it keeps all communication in one place - whether that be huddles, group chats, one-on-one conversations, or channels. Everything is easily searchable. Slack really improved its functionality when it added the ability to do calls a few years back.

Overall, I am thrilled with the platform. I love that it offers a free plan, but the paid are a bit pricey compared to others in the market. Also, the limited users available in a huddle is a bit of a con but not large enough to deter me from recommending Slack.
