The way the tests are animated and presented, the music and the colors really add excitement from the senses and integrate game elements that activate other areas of the brain. It should be a mandatory tool for teachers to use in their classes.

Sometimes very long questions cannot be asked, which forces us to have to shorten the context of the questions, but it is something manageable.

Kahoot is an interactive platform that gets everyone in my classroom excited. It is easy to create content, discover new content, play with students (in class or remotely), and review scores. You can save your games to review later in the year, and use every year from then on. Kahoot also allows you to edit your games, and copy and edit other's games if you just need to change a couple questions. Kahoot has also teamed up with Disney to provide learning experiences with our favorite Disney characters, and some fun brain break opportunities that provide questions just about the movie. I can't recommend Kahoot enough.

Inconvénients

There are no cons for Kahoot. Not even field trips get my students as excited as they are when they hear the theme song for Kahoot start to play.

It is interactive and a fun way to measure learning/goals for a company or schools. It generally doesn't have any glitches or delays like similar platforms. The layout is colorful and easy to use, therefore making it a favorite among users.

Kahoot can be overly simplistic at times. The lack of innovations is something that might be a problem and lead to lack of interactivity. The background music can also be annoying at times.

Kahoot is a recently released software, suitable for learning, review and entertainment for all students around the world. The feature that I really like about this software is that it can quickly calculate the score and the feature of honoring the winner is also very unique and interesting, it makes me feel excited when taking the test.

Is an application that is very popular with all customers around the world. There's nothing I can say about Kahoot. But besides that there is also a small disadvantage of Kahoot. That is the application sometimes often happens to lag, this makes the performance of the work go a little bit leading to a drop in rank, but it is also very small and rarely happens, so it is not worth the blame.

I adore Kahoot! because it engages my students with reviewing material through a digital interactive platform. They love the concept of “racing” each other, and I like that they also have to option to share a device and work as a team on Kahoot!. The program also lets them pick team names, which they adore.

Inconvénients

I don’t like that if a student accidentally logs out of Kahoot, they cannot rejoin the game like they can in other platforms.

Using the paid option (I decided to invest my money in it because it is absolutely worth it), I can find content prepared by other people and customize it easily.

It can be overwhelming: When I look for content prepared by other people, I get wealth of resources. Too much on the one hand, but very useful on the other!

The fact this software is free and that it offers 'pro' and 'paid' features that are just not present in other types of quiz generation software. Its all web based so no downloading required, unless you use the app with learners. Incredibily easy to setup your own quiz and equally as useful in duplicating ready made quizzes by other teachers/mentors.

Inconvénients

Sometimes the use of the colour/shapes to distinguish the answers chosen has been reportedly a bit confusing when the learners are trying to chose the answers and compete with each other for the best /fastest score. Its a minor observation but one that has come up a few times.

Using kahoot works very intuitively. Users that never worked with kahoot before quickly pick up on how to use it. On top of that it's free to use and also very reliable.

There could be a bit more details and statistics on the answers given. I'd also like a way to customize the look of polls and quizzes. But this is nitpicking and not necessary.

If you are looking for a way to liven up classroom discussions and participations, and you haven't given Kahoot! a try, you really do owe it to yourself to test it out. Students really seem to enjoy the competitive aspect of the system, and using their smartphones as "buzzers" to answer questions. The gameplay itself can be highly customized (they recently added a number of updates and new features, including new music choices to play while students are thinking); I have used Kahoot! to facilitate exam reviews, and colleagues have used it to run reinforcement "drills" for topics ranging from bivariate correlation to identifying bacteria.

Inconvénients

Using your smartphone as an answering device takes some getting used to, as you have to match shapes (e.g., tap on a button with a circle to choose an answer marked with a circle) to choose your answer instead of a more "traditional" choice like A/B/C/D. Some instructors also don't care for the fact that students can choose their own username and anything goes, which can make it challenging to figure out who is responding/winning. There is also the tiniest learning curve when it comes to customization, but after a couple of uses, it's quite easy to configure.

It has very good design, easy to use and can be used to make people learn things while playing and competing to get more points.

From The phone app, you need to pay in order to have further functionalities and to “save” your previous games.

The most impactful part of this software is the ease of using and the different facets of the software. I love the diversity of the polls and surveys to gather info. I appreciate that I can use the software for both personal and professional teams.

The only thing I dislike is that the cost of the different tools is not laid out in the beginning. When I was learning how to use the software - I created an entire program and then realized only part of it was included in the free intro offer.

When you get a question wrong it tells you the correct answer but does not justify why the answer you chose was wrong and why the correct answer is right. I wish this would be added to the individual-based study structure when you do not have a teacher or professor or study group present to explain.

Avantages

Kahoot is one of my students’ favorite activities to the point they ask to play it. Even though it’s a game it gives me a good idea of what my students know, what we need to review, and which students are getting left behind. There are also options on paid accounts that give me more flexibility in how I assess my students.

Inconvénients

Getting a quiz setup can be time consuming especially if you want it to look nice, complete with pictures. Also, to get the most use out of Kahoot a paid account is required. The basic account has extremely limited options
and when my grant-funded paid account expires I already know I’m going to feel the loss of all the options I currently have access to. I’m also not sure how to seamlessly connect it to Canvas without the Kahoot! expiring if it’s not a paid account.

Kahoot has the easiest navigation interface! This becomes the class favorite in terms of motivation activities as well as the assessments. Because of the interaction that it gives to students, they tend to be more engaged and take part in the lessons while having fun. The app's leaderboard also sparks motivation and allows competition between students. Seeing their points boosts them to do better and walk an extra mile.

Inconvénients

Despite the greatness of this platform, there is still room for improvement. I think it would have been much better if the students are given a chance to write answers in phrases than just choosing from multiple choices. This will make the students own their learning.

Avantages

Accessible in almost every environment. Helpful in a classroom environment or when teaching a large group of younger people. Very useful software to gamify learning and when paired with effective teaching of large content. Great way to receive somewhat reliable data from a young audience in regard to creative themes. UI is colourful and with fun music keeps engagement high in younger audiences.

Inconvénients

Unsuitable for use in a formal business environment. Limited application outside of education or taking "surveys" from younger audiences. When discussing business it is undoubtedly inappropriate. Whilst it is possible to use Kahoot is a way to gauge the engagement of ideas form a younger audience, each idea must be individually entered in the "question bank" which can be time consuming.

As an elementary teacher, I’ve been using Kahoot with students for at least 5 years. For me, it is an incredible tool to use in the classroom to boost student engagement. I find the website very easy to navigate. I am always able to find just what I’m looking for within minutes. If I can’t find a Kahoot that fits my needs, I can easily tweak an existing one or create my own. I love the collaboration with companies to provide engaging content, like the Disney Kahoots! I primarily use Kahoot to informally assess student understanding of topics, and I frequent use it as a review tool. Students love Kahoot! They love the point system and the scoreboard. Some of my students even create their own Kahoots to share with one another during recess. I love that a basic account is free, yet also appreciate that a paid plan is affordable. I would definitely consider using Kahoot as an engagement platform when presenting to or teaching adults as well!

Honestly, I can’t even think of an area in which Kahoot could improve. I will say that over the years I’ve had some students experience glitching on the site or app that ended up freezing their device and thus preventing them from moving forward in our Kahoots. This is rare though and I trust Kahoot is actively working to identify and fix these bugs!

The quick paced and catchy music keeps players interested in playing and hopefully winning the game. I feel like the score count after each question motivates students/players to complete their part in studying. The process of making a Kahoot! is very simple and students can make kahoots to share and play with each other. Kahoot! is a great way for students to discover gaps in their knowledge when studying for a test. They can note down which questions they have missed and at a later date go back and review those questions.
In addition, there are already a ton of Kahoots! made on all kinds of topics (science, history, english, math, languages, hobbies) so if a user didn't have enough time to make a Kahoot, they could use one that has already been made.

Inconvénients

I don't really have anything negative to say about Kahoot!! Growing up, my teachers have always used it for my classes and as I have students of my own, I like to create Kahoots or use pre-made Kahoots as a fun way or learning for the students!

Kahoot is a highly interactive way to assess knowledge using a game format. It brings out excitement with its users as the users feel they are playing a game rather than reviewing essential material. It is very easy to use, and allows the users to get immediate responses and feedback from their intended audience. The software allows the user to build a question and offer four possible answers. the user can assign a certain amount of time to each question. Students, or users get to earn points based on their correct answers and the speed at which they answered it.

There is not o function to measure open response questions. The software is limited to only multiple choice or true and false. Also, sometimes those interacting with it aim for speed over right answers.

What I like most about Kahoot is it really does get my students to engage with whatever I am teaching. Students get bored quickly and a quick game, even though the questions may be exactly the questions off a quiz, always gets them awake and ready to go.

The only issue I have with Kahoot is that, once the students are on Kahoot, they want to stay with Kahoot.

Kahoot allows you to create and use online quizzes. One of the best features of Kahoot is that it makes the experience of quizzes fun and interactive which means it is well suited for students as it enhances the learning process. After you create the quiz, you can preview to ensure it runs the way you would like it to. Sharing the quiz is easy for both live and non-live quizzes. You can also review the answers when someone has completed the quiz.

It is great for both virtual and in-person activities. In both mediums you can share the code for persons to join the quiz and participate.

While it may seem more geared towards education, since you can add whichever types of questions you would like, the quiz can be about anything. I have used this for both adult learning and professional spaces as more of an icebreaker activity.

I wish there was more customisation. For example, types of response formats, fonts, colours, sizing, etc.

Also, you need a paid version if you want to add more than 10 persons per live quiz in addition to other features such as tracking, image library, training etc. Paid versions allow up to 2000 participants based on the plan you get.

Kahoot is definitely a fun way to engage your kids in questions that relate to your content. It's easy and quick to use. There's a database with tons of question sets created by other teachers, and it's simple to access these sets and use that game in your class. If you can't find what you're looking for, you can also create your own which takes very little time. It's easy for students to get into the game - no hoops to jump through. It's also a reliable webpage and interface. I've never had students stalled from accessing their website, so that's definitely helpful. Kahoot also provides you with formative data. Obviously, you wouldn't use the scores as a test grade, but it gives you an idea about student strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in knowledge. You can then use this information moving forward. The environment that's created in your class is just great, but you use it wisely. You can't play Kahoot right before kids are expected to walk quietly in the hallway or read quietly and independently. :)

Due to the game-like environment it creates, you can't extensively rely on the data gathered from the assessment. Nor can you track individual growth over periods of time. But there are other tools designed for that, so just use Kahoot appropriately.

I don't like the discussion feature because it is still a multiple answer choice for the student. I would like it if the students were able to add an original answer and the class could view the responses to begin a class discussion.

A feature that I love about Kahoot is that not everything has to be a competition, this software can be broken down into groups, which is super helpful. This software is really easy to use and I also love that my grades has been improving with this because my professor uses Kahoot to review before an exam, which helps me do better during the exams! I absolutely love this so much!

One feature I hope to improve in the future is that Kahoot needs Wifi in order to participate, but all schools usually have Wifi so It does not bother me at all. Also, it is understandable that this sotware needs wifi. I still love using this and always recommend this to all my professors when using a software to review exams.

I don’t like how the setup for kahoots is cluttered. When the paid options are shown, I do not have the time to read every little option just to buy a subscription. Instead, I have to sit down and organize a large block of time just to find or make kahoots.

Kahoot! is VERY easy to use. Simple multiple choices games can be set up in just a few minutes, especially if you've established the questions/answers ahead of time. Additionally, there is a wide range of options in question types, structures, and how answers are presented. For example, you can have participants enter a single freeform word as an answer and then display all answers in a word cloud format. Most importantly, Kahoot! enables fun audience participation and an exciting way to spice up presentations. Our teams look forward to our Kahoot! games and it results in better retention of the presentation material because they want to win the game. User participation is also very simple, whether from the mobile device app or a web browser. Everyone can easily participate and the scoring system rewards correct answers as well as speed. It's awesome and we love to use it.

The only major criticism I have encountered is with lag time from participants who are trying to win the game. It seems that users of the app on their mobile device can usually beat those who utilize a web browser. When teams are highly competitive, we always recommend using the app for the best speed and reliability.

What I like the most about Kahoot! is its ease to use and the practical User Interface (UI). As a user, I enjoy the quizzes hosted on this software, because they are both fun and pedagogic.
There are also a lot of features on the app I really appreciate, such as the library of played kahoots and their reports, the possibility to challenge other players and the emoticons are also a great add-on.
As a creator, it is very easy, intuitive and fast to create a quiz and there are a lot of features and options to select when doing so.

Inconvénients

What I like the least about this software is the 10-player limit on the free version of Kahoot.
I think it is a very low player limit, even to host a quiz for my peers and closed family.
Other than that, I have no other negative point to mention.
I also never faced any problem whatsoever with this software, neither did I need to contact its support team.

Kahoot lets you easily setup your own quizzes/assessments or duplicate others that can then be edited to meet your needs. It adds a great element of fun to the assesment process and really boosts energy levels. I like being able to add appropriate image to each question. The reporting facility that lets you check questions that were answered incorrectly is a great revision tool.

The huge advantage of Kahoot - that there are so many ready-made quizzes - is also a detraction as it can take a while to find a quizz that suits your needs. It is often easier to start from scratch.

I have been using Kahoot for about 6 years now as a student. My teachers have used Kahoot to help us practice certain concepts, and I have always loved using it. It is such a great teaching tool that I have even created quizzes myself in order to prepare for tests. I really enjoy the setup of the app. It is really easy to see your progress and how you scored on a quiz. It is also really easy to see how other players match up with your scores if playing with classmates. I also really like how you can add pictures to the questions as well as music, which makes it so much more fun to use.

Inconvénients

I have honestly never experienced any huge problems with this software. The only minor inconvenience is that sometimes due to poor connection, the app lags and leaves you behind in a game. For example, sometimes in class, my phone will lose connection and then regain connection, and I will notice that the countdown does not match the one on the teacher's screen. This has only happened very few times though, so it hasn't been too bad.
