i think one of the best things about nextcloud is that it will be further developed. also the data rooms and the encryption are milestones. Gladly the versioning is used

I started using Nextcloud because I swith between different laptops and this free tool provides the oportunity to have the most recent version of the documents in both my laptop and in the cloud. It is very helpful that I don't have to think if I have the last version of documents in my laptop.

Inconvénients

The storage capacity is limited but It is understandable since it is free.

It's easy to use, setup, and maintain functional file sharing and backup systems effectively... It's good for that.

Inconvénients

It lacks a lot of the selling points of alternative options for this purpose, such as MEGASync, Google Drive, Dropbox, and similar services. I could not rely solely on Nextcloud without some of my needs going unmet.

I use the share feature to URL all the time and it's great to send files to people without an account.

Overall upload/download speed could be better. Probably not the software to blame for.

It is open source and free to use, even on producion environments you can tune up to get the bes performance

It is easy to get the server up and running and it is easy to maintain and update. Security updates comes frequently and it is easy to update.

The desktop client and mobile app is working flawless.

Had some initial problems with setup and installing certificates. Some third-party addons can make the product instable.

It's open source! And not only that, but compared to other open source software, Nextcloud works out of the box with very little customization. It also provides lots of official plugins that work out of the box as well for customizing the product.

There isn't anything I can think of that I didn't really like about the product. It was just that good.

I very much like the fact that I'm in control of where my data is stored/located locally and in the "cloud". That no one, or entity, can see or review that data without my expressed consent.

Not technically a problem with the software, but my normal hosting service doesn't have a one click option for NextCloud, but does for the very similar competitor, so I currently have 2 hosting services, one for my web/offsite backup and one for NextCloud.

Free version is very flexible; Runs even on SBC-like raspberry pi; but scales up to much more powerful versions and use of External NAS on network for full featured netwoking .

Also, like the value of third-party plugins that add many features.

Inconvénients

Slightly complex to install and manage all of the features, but not too impossible. For privacy concerns, this may be a worthwhile trade-off.

Looking to move out of the Microsoft ecosystem and bring our data back on to our own systems. NextCloud provides so much which you can extend with additional apps to cover most of what you need in a collaboration suite.

Inconvénients

Some third party apps cause system errors but easy enough to roll back. It would be nice to be able to roll back from the interface but this is an open source solution and not really a complaint when comparing to its capabilities.

In this age of decreasing privacy I'm very happy that this robust private cloud software exists, and I'm slowly migrating existing public cloud applications to their Nextcloud counterparts. I set it up in different environments and installation and basic configuration was very easy. The admin interface is well organized, and there is a good third party application community as well.

I had some minor issues with desktop file sync software, which were solved in a software update.

It is a full featured cloud solution that has no monthly subscriptions. It is also a private solution which I like.

There are no cons as of yet. I have not run into any issues to date.
