Xero doesn't work for me

I dislike it greatly. I am a bookkeeper and need to use it. I do not like it.

Avantages

I do not like anything about Xero. It is not user friendly at all.

Inconvénients

It is difficult to understand the processes. You cannot journal to the bank. There is no proper thought flow.

ACCOUNTANT WARNING DO NOT PARTNER - I was 2nd partner in Canada not a smart move heres why!

Avantages

Not much to say here anymore, they pretty much used to be good and totally lost faith.

Inconvénients

As an accounting firm I would be very cautious with using Xero or recommending it to clients. Outside of Xero billing for things that were supposed to be free, which after complaining they claim they will reconcile but I had to threaten with a lawyer to get that reaction. As an accounting firm it is a very risky move to partner with the Xero software platform. As a firm Your clients will know your using Xero and as a result will likely start to follow Xero using social media. When this happen your clients will receive advertisements about other Accounting firms partnered with Xero. The problem isn’t that you will loose your clients, but this makes you look really bad in front of your clients that you are recommending a software that recommends other accountants outside your firm. This actually happened to me in Canada, and the response of the Canadian Xero team was simply that they didn’t intend on these promotions to be received by the clients of my firm. They didn’t care, they didn’t apologize, they didn’t even acknowledge what they did was wrong, it was evident that they prioritized their growth over their existing partners, at least in Canada. Even The Canadian director of Xero comments where limited to telling me ” I understand that you need to make important decisions in the best interest of your firm”. To me this was a clear message that he doesn’t care. As a small business the software was historically leading, recently, many clients are having issues logging in

Company could care less about customers and refuses to fix glaring issues

It has been a nightmare! I was an early adopter, but they quickly forced us to pay their increasing fees instead of honoring us in supporting what began as very buggy software. They stabilized it and it worked okay for some time, but has consistently become more buggy and irritating.

They refuse to fix bugs, always blame the customer for doing things wrong. They send canned messages that half the time have NOTHING to do with the actual question. They called me a liar in support. Their automated feeds NEVER work, and when they break, they cause a huge mess. For instance, it might pull transactions for 20 days out of the month, and you have to figure out which it did not pull. Of course, they never take responsibility or try to fix it.

Their greed has ruined the company and all they care about is fleecing more money from the customer. I never plan to go back to this company. Horrible!

Avantages

Disliked the entire experience. They break everything that works well. Cash coding was excellent then they changed it and broke it.

Inconvénients

Automated feeds NEVER work, always buggy, and the mess it leaves takes hours or days to fix. Customer support is a joke. They only send canned responses which rarely if ever answer the question. Their lack of attentiveness in support is appalling.

Gold mine run by zero support

Shortly very bad support killing every thing good.

Avantages

Initially we thought it would be nice product but later we found it is horrible with no support at all. They assigned one person from UK but later he didn’t answer the call and when he was answering before he knew nothing about xero and kept saying file a complaint. Xero will certainly cease to exist due to ZERO support.

Inconvénients

Zero support and you have to read everything to find simple answer.

Awful and unintuitive

Avantages

It functions at the very least. You can learn to use it but it takes too long and is too complex for even the smallest of companies to use.

Inconvénients

Usually complexity would scale with size and necessity, as is the use of other software like NetSuite, but Xero is unintuitive in every single imaginable aspect.
