I like that it did what it had to do, this suffer is a very complete software. It has a lot of integrations. You can integrate it with almost every single financial analysis, software available, and with all the banking within the US.

I find that the interface needs work, I think that famous software like this should be able to edit or personalize the interface

Avantages

Pricing is great for Xero, probably the cheapest for the industry.

Avantages

I do like the BAS return function and the Payroll function. When we've had errors in the year end reporting, it has been easy to look back and find those entries & fix them up.

Inconvénients

Can be hard to navigate in finding the right reports and retrieving the right information I need from the software. I also find it hard to review SUpplier & Customer Accounts History. I'm used to seeing other softwares having a tab labelled 'Suppliers' / 'Customers' and you can view altogether - I'm just not finding this easy to do in Xero.

Some good features - fixed asset management, budgeting is good. Does have a reasonable selection of reports. Also, it has good connections to other software due to the fact that 3rd party software have connected their software.

Inconvénients

The general ledger I don't like. There is no structure to the account numbers (you can use what you like).
Also, there is no easy ability to add heading accounts so you end up with one massive list of accounts.
You need to write reports to allow subtotalling.

I liked the fact it allowed my clients to login and edit income/expenditure in real time at the same time as I was making adjustments. It enabled us to work with a good level of collaboration

Inconvénients

It's too expensive for what it provides. At £29+VAT per month, I struggled to make a profit on my bookkeeping services.

As a bookkeeper I had only ever used quickbooks or sage so was skeptical when the accounts said they only supported Xero. I was pleasantly surprised that this was very easy to navigate and use with very minimal training.the

There was many different ways to reconcile the bank and therefore was confusing at times.

I wasn't too fond of any of the features. The more I used it I hated it less but still won't recommend it.

The fact that you couldn't reconcile to the bank statement at month end. If the bank balance got off somehow there was no undoing and reconciling to figure out why or how. Also reports are broad enough. Can't do profit by customer.

Easy to use and navigate, doesn't require professional expertise for basic transactions. Still need a bookkeeper or accountant to properly administer, however.

Inconvénients

Way more expensive than competitors and on top of that, bank feeds constantly fail and/or transactions don't properly get picked up. Support is extremely slow and salespeople care nothing about helping their clients.

Clear, simple layouts; many app integrations; consistently good customer service; excellent focus on research and development of new features. More robust than softwares like FreshBooks or Wave.

I currently cannot think of anything that I like about Xero, I always have things that I am wanting to do but either cannot do, or find it very hard to do with Xero (such as reconciling properly or pulling different reports)

I find this software very challening to use. I primarily use QuickBooks Online and Desktop with my clients, we have one client on Xero, and find that Xero is very difficult to use, and does not have the functionality that I am used to with QB.

I have a couple clients on Xero upon their insistence. It's somewhat easy to use for experienced bookkeepers, but not easy to use for a beginner. It produces clean reports and syncs nicely with Bill.com

The PO feature is nice. You can create a PO from an invoice. You cannot do that in Quickbooks online right now.

As an accountant, I do not like that all expenses have to be entered as a bill. I do not like how I cannot drill down on the P&L on what total expenses are, etc. I do not like it that I cannot see the GL impact of a transaction easily.

Simple to use, and has a great price for what you get.

It is definitely made for a consumer more than an accountant, I feel it lacks some much needed features.

It does integrate with payroll software like Gusto which make it easy to account for. The mobile apps are better than some other competitors.

The reconciliation process is scattered and complex to put it lightly. The electronic filing of payroll isn't available in every state. The ability to track business segments is difficult and takes "work-arounds" as opposed to having a way to actually track the different segments individually.
