I like that I am able to do just about everything required to run a store online, and I don't have to pay anything up front.

I do not like how the free version only allows you to list 10 products, there are several other places that are also free, and they do not put a cap on the number you are allowed to have.

I like Ecwids software mostly because I get my own portal through Ecwid to manage my business' products and services. I also the ease of use when it comes to the many features, tools, etc. that Ecwid offers. Another thing is the selection of plans users can upgrade to and access more features and benefits.

I honestly can't say there's anything that I dislike about the software. They've been helpful to me for the 2+ years I've used the software to help my business grow

The themes,the ability to ad and change special offers,discounts,the templates. Is like you got your real physical store.The control on every single extension.

What I like most about Ecwid is how easy it is to set up, so you spend more time on your products and less time getting everything set up.

I used this to sell my product. This made it very easy to manage my inventory and customers. Customers would easily contact us and we would sell more products. This made my management a lot better.

The only bad thing about Ecwid is that it does not provide a payment gateway. It would be even easier if we could link PayPal, Stripe etc.

It supports a wide range of payment gateways and methods, providing flexibility for my customers in making purchases.

I admire Ecwid for allowing a free storefront which is customizable but limits the products being sold.
It is a start and will actually make a difference to many. I like the design, UI, and customization according to my preferences being easily available. I like the fact that there are plugins for the usage of other sales platforms like Facebook to be integrated with Ecwid.

I honestly have no problem with Ecwid, I have never experienced any problems on this website front.
There are so many versatile features sometimes it becomes too much for one person to focus on, therefore it must be used strategically to gain optimum results.

I really enjoy the user experience as a whole. It is very simple to understand and get a store up and running. I use a built-in Ecwid plugin for a Duda website-building platform. So, it is like a 3rd party Ecwid store. Because of this, there are a few features that are missing but overall, you can still build a very nice online store. The framework and layouts are very easy to understand and use as well as you are able to customize many things on each page. The catalog page, single item page, checkout, and more.

Inconvénients

One of my clients is a greenhouse and they have around 2,000 products. Until recently, there was no way to bulk change pricing or other features for select products which was a pain to have to change every product individually. Ecwid has made an update so this is possible which has saved about an hour of clicking and pasting which is awesome. However, there is still room for improvement. For example, there are additional buying options for some products, such as different sizes however, if you increase the price for the product but the large size/other buying options need to increase by a different size, that still has to be completed manually by changing each product itself which is very time-consuming. I contact support and they informed me that this could be done but I had to contact the developer and then purchase an app and pay for it monthly in order to complete this. I just needed to make this change once, so I don't want to pay monthly for something I need a couple times a year.

Ecwid is a SAAS (Software As A Service) platform that makes it easy to transform a regular website, including those using CMS's like WordPress and Joomla, into an e-commerce store. Ecwid provides the e-commerce backend. To start selling, just add an HTML code snippet to an existing website page.

Ecwid is an e-commerce backend that connects to an existing website. Because the store is on two different websites, some people suspect that there will be problems, but I have never encountered any.

While not as robust as some larger e-commerce platforms like Shopify, Ecwid is easier to use and more affordable for small sellers without an IT department. There are no per-transaction fees and the monthly fees are lower than other 3rd party e-commerce platforms. Sellers can even use it for FREE indefinitely to sell up to 10 items.

Inconvénients

Customizing the look/design requires basic CSS knowledge - so it typically looks less "slick" than Shopify. I have encountered some great Ecwid support reps, as well as a few that are undertrained. Biggest downside is that it is terrible for International Sales. It rejects orders from overseas if the International address is entered in certain formats, which is a real problem.

Ecwid’s functionality for the non-expert is great. My use of Ecwid has been largely based on hobby use, and I still have not had an issue.

I appreciate the extent of offering for free that Ecwid is willing to give for free to their users. All things considered, I have been able to fairly easily set up a number of products and maintain my non-profit's web store.

Inconvénients

Some of the functionality is a little difficult to use while setting up products especially. Many of the options are difficult to find again, and some things are labeled in a way that makes them difficult to understand what they do without setting it up, putting it in action and seeing what it does. This is a little bit tedious since you can't really preview it. Some of the results are a little dated looking.

Avantages

Ecwid's an approachable product. The website is well laid out, the offering well-described, the pricing clear and the free version allows you to set up a store with up to 10 products, which is very generous. Third parties have also done a good job of integrating Ecwid with RapidWeaver, a web design program.

Inconvénients

There's nothing about Ecwid in particular, just the complexities of setting up a store that has to handle multiple shipping options to different countries, whilst complying with different privacy and ecommerce regulations. On the whole I've been very satisfied with Ecwid.

Ecwid is super easy to use and set up. We use Ecwid for our yearly calendar sales and other products we sell.

It can be a little difficult to access through WIX and takes multiple screens to get to where you want to be to add new items to the store front.

Easy to setup the first time. You quickly get a feel for how the system works, and how you can change pictures text and all that has to do with presenting your product.

Inconvénients

The fine print and all the practical details of for instance shipping and VAT is not very intuitive. It furthermore is very difficult to control this when you go from a paid to a free version which keeps you in a locked position when you want to shift. This is true if you want to scale down your shop for a while.

I love how easy it is to power up a website with ecommerce if the site was built on a platform that doesn't usually offer it. We're using ecwid on about a dozen sites at the moment

Inconvénients

I wish I could do more customization to the design on my Duda embedded sites, especially the checkout experience

Avantages

I loved that it had it's own wordpress plugin (access everything from wp dashboard) and that it was fast/easy to set up.

Inconvénients

It depends on what you are selling and your inventory, but the free version is very limited (10 products and no way to limit inventory).

A lot of different features, which you can use to really go into your customers buying habits. Good integration with Stripe as well.

Is a bit complex. We needed a really simple webshop solution, but with Ecwid we got a pretty complex one which could do more than we needed.

I love using this software it is very easy and simple to navigate around & you don’t have to be super tech savvy. A beginner could use this software.

Inconvénients

I would prefer better deals, but overall it’s still a really good deal for your money & you get exactly what you need and what you’re paying for.

No complaints about the software. I am about to do a complete overhaul of my shopping cart. I will continue to use the software.
