Good lower-cost alternative to some e-commerce services
For clients on a very tight budget with only a few products to sell, Ecwid can't be beaten. It's a professional-level product with all the features you need to create a good-looking store that does the job. The professional plans are well-priced as well.
Avantages
Ecwid's an approachable product. The website is well laid out, the offering well-described, the pricing clear and the free version allows you to set up a store with up to 10 products, which is very generous. Third parties have also done a good job of integrating Ecwid with RapidWeaver, a web design program.
Inconvénients
There's nothing about Ecwid in particular, just the complexities of setting up a store that has to handle multiple shipping options to different countries, whilst complying with different privacy and ecommerce regulations. On the whole I've been very satisfied with Ecwid.

Good customer support
Great customer support to answer your different questions. Easy to start up and looks good without much effort. With maintenance, change and all the boring stuff like shipping and VAT the product becomes a bit harder to use.
Avantages
Easy to setup the first time. You quickly get a feel for how the system works, and how you can change pictures text and all that has to do with presenting your product.
Inconvénients
The fine print and all the practical details of for instance shipping and VAT is not very intuitive. It furthermore is very difficult to control this when you go from a paid to a free version which keeps you in a locked position when you want to shift. This is true if you want to scale down your shop for a while.

A bit complex webshop tool if you want a simple solution
Avantages
A lot of different features, which you can use to really go into your customers buying habits. Good integration with Stripe as well.
Inconvénients
Is a bit complex. We needed a really simple webshop solution, but with Ecwid we got a pretty complex one which could do more than we needed.
