Planning Center Online Review
Overall, very pleased with the functions of Planning Center. This product allows our church to successful run ministries, track member engagement, steward relationships and connection with people, among many other capabilities.
Avantages
The organized convenience of having almost every form of information about church members using features like groups, checkin, registrations, services, etc. is highly valuable. I do enjoy the customization opportunities to use specific church language, as well as the ability to use other supported platforms in combination.
Inconvénients
I don't enjoy the updated group chat feature as much as I did the functionality of it before.

Still learning but happy so far
Avantages
PC is a very robust system. I love that it incorporates multiple applications into one suite.
Inconvénients
I don't like that when I create an event I cannot give someone else access to edit the event. This is actually a big problem when it comes to having events approved and having an assistant make any changes. I wish they allowed you the ability to co-edit.

Planning Center Helps Your Church Grow!
Overall, I LOVE using Planning Center! It helps me keep track of volunteers, materials, rooms, and groups with ease. When working with people in general, but especially with volunteers, communication and organization is KEY and Planning Center makes that all possible and EASY! We ahem seen tremendous growth first of all because of what God is doing in our church but also because of the technology we implement and Planning Center has been a driving force in that.
Avantages
I've used Planning center for about a year now though I've known of it for years. I don't know how other churches get by without it! It has so many different uses from checking in children, to organizing rooms and supplies for events, to keeping track of attendance for groups, and of course scheduling volunteers for services. It's very versatile and brings order to the chaos of being a volunteer based work space.
Inconvénients
It does have some software bugs with their mobile apps. Often, I've scheduled people on the computer, but when I go to the app it will have other people "pending" under the wrong date and when I try to remove them, I get the "oops, something went wrong" message over and over again. It would also be nice if Planning Center Groups had their own separate phone application to make things more versatile for group leaders, that would be amazing!

Avantages
Planning Center is just okay for me - I think there are probably better things to use - but I am not in charge of purchasing a new one.
Inconvénients
Planning Center is not very user friendly initially - it takes quite a while for someone to get acclimated and that is on the time of the volunteer - meaning it is not something I can enforce.

Very useful overall, but wish there was a way to always access previous weeks
Avantages
For the weeks that I am scheduled to serve, it shows me all the information I need: the order of service, the other people serving with me, the songs, and song file attachments.
Inconvénients
I wish there was a way to look at your previous weeks of service when you are not currently scheduled for any upcoming dates. Also, when playing audio files from the playlist, the system often automatically downloads every file. I don't want to listen to a bunch of click tracks and orchestration tracks that I need to physically skip when I'm listening in the car.

Planning center makes it easy.
Avantages
Coordinating with our band and production crew is easy with the app. Everyone is able to find all the information in a single place.
Inconvénients
Occasionally emails and such will arrive late or not as intended. Also the sync to Google calendar is not reliable.

Really the only game in town
Avantages
If you need to coordinate people, files, and order in the Church world, you have to use this software. Nothing works better.
Inconvénients
I do have to use browser mode to gain some aspects of functionality. For instance, you can't add files in the mobile app, though you can through the web client on the same device (iPhone/iPad for me).

Church Teamwork Dreamwork (2)
Planning out church services is our main use of this product.
Avantages
This made organizing events, resources, and people very easy. The church was able to lay out events completely; the band could upload music files and chord sheets; people could be assigned tasks and responsibilities.
Inconvénients
The mobile version is NOT intuitive at all. Very difficult to access different folders and the calendared events.

Every Sunday is Well Organized
Avantages
Best "pro" in my opinion would be the ability to set the preference such that both me and my wife are not scheduled to serve on the same day. This is really great as it gives us the chance to serve and the other person looks after the children.
Inconvénients
Would be great to be able to have IM functionality between team members.

Gold standard for scheduling and planning worship services
Awesome for scheduling and managing complex services. We've used it for worship services and also for main sessions at a large conference. Great for keeping things on track and helping everyone see what's coming.
Avantages
I refer to the order of service a lot for my job and this software is great for seeing how everything is planned. Attaching files for reference is simple, and collaboration between teams is a breeze. I also like how easy it is to use for music rehearsal.
Inconvénients
It's just a little on the complicated side so some of our older users are slow to adopt. I know they're working on this and, in reality, it's pretty simple and easy to use. That's just always going to be an issue with an older user base.

Great app!
I can't say enough about Planning Center to convey how great it is at keeping a program on time. Everyone knows where we are and where we are headed next and what is needed at each step of the way. This has been a blessing!
Avantages
Planning Center makes it easy to plan worship services and events so they flow well. The collaboration ability is power packed. The ability to update and keep track of what is happening has made pulling off a successful event easier than ever. With the ease of use of the integrated countdown timer, our events can stay on time easier than ever. This application has improved our programs beyond our expectations.
Inconvénients
It is a bit overwhelming at first. However, once you get the basics down it all makes sense.

Avantages
Everyone can see the same thing and share the screens to multiple devices at the same time. It makes it very easy to keep everyone on the same page.
Inconvénients
Could not import from CCLI. It would be helpful to import the songs from CCLI to use and share with the group.

Very solid software to manage musicians and services
Avantages
Easy to use and learn. It works great to manage our church services and musicians. Creates a step-by-step service plan for multiple teams members to follow.
Inconvénients
It would be nice if there was more integration options with traditional church management software.

Planning Center - Great for creating scheduling and flows for organizations contact processes
Being a new user, I appreciate the notifications for events I am being requested for and that you have the ability to respond and notify the leaders of the request what your status is. If accepting you get all the details of the event or meeting once you accept.
Avantages
Pros are you can have scheduled events and or assignments that carry to your team. They can review all the aspects of a meeting, who are involved and the flow of the meeting. Also, you can block dates that show you are not available for that particular meeting or event.

A Worthwhile Tool to Keep You in the Know
Planning Center has truly done almost everything to make it easy for my worship team to communicate on a day-to-day or week-to-week basis. There is a significant advantage to having all of the team files in one place, from PDFs to embedded YouTube videos.
Avantages
I enjoy that I have the ability to play audio files in the background. This is a huge advantage when driving, which I do a great deal of.
Inconvénients
It seems that despite my internet connection, the files (particularly audio and video files) consistently load at a slower speed (and occasionally will pause to buffer) than what would be expected from my network. This has no affect on the quality of the file.

I use the app for when I am playing at church. It's a nice way to get everything in one place.
I don't know how we got information/sheet music to our teams without a solution like this! It's like life before cell phones, how would we get anything done?
Avantages
It's a great way to distribute the music that you need to people before practice. Without something like this, they would be seeing the music for the first time and can be a challenge to make any progress. The music stand is great for practice at home.
Inconvénients
I find the UI for communication with other teammates confusing. I find it hard to select the people that I want to send messages to and the automatic fill in of things is difficult.

HUGE time saver for organizing your ministry
It is a fantastic, very needed tool to stay organized, communicated well with those involved in church administration at some level, and ensure church operations are being managed.
Avantages
The tool is super easy to use and has tons of apps for each area of ministry. Having everything integrated and cloud-based is helpful as well. I have used it more on the scheduling and communicating with volunteers side, however, we use it across the ministry.
Inconvénients
It can take some getting used to for less tech-savvy users. The product is pricey (but worth it). The mobile app seems to be glitchy at times.

Great Database for Church Use!
Great for any church looking to get organized and have a database.
Avantages
It is a free product for what we use it for. We can track birthdays, anniversaries, members, SS classes, etc. Easy to use on your phone so all of the church is on the same page.
Inconvénients
Wish they have a mass text option..right now they integrate with other services. There is a mass email option as well!

Planning Center
I have been using this tool since years in my church. It gives all the possibilities required to schedule ministries efficiently, attach every necessary documents and files related to an event, open communication, track donations, review staff available etc. Overall this is a super useful tool.
Avantages
What i really love in Planning Center, is that we can not only schedule worship tracklist, but also can refer sheets, chords, performance history etc.
Inconvénients
As a user i several times had problems with logging in, as system did not recognize i was registered by admin twice, with the same email. So it is running 2 profiles with the very same attributes. Could be more professional from this point of view.

Hi Szekacs - Thanks for the review! If you have multiple accounts, setting the password for each account as the same thing will prompt you to link your accounts together, allowing you to switch between them easily. Let us know if you run into issues with that!

Great for scheduling needs!
Avantages
As a scheduler, it made it super easy to manage multiple different services and assign people to different classrooms and such.
Inconvénients
As a user, sometimes it was difficult to navigate through the website and find exactly what I was looking for.

Could be more user friendly
Because we're a non-profit using it, we have a wide range of users from very tech savvy to not tech savvy at all. The user experience isn't conducive to those who have no tech experience and can be very confusing.
Avantages
The ability to say yes or no to being rostered is easy. The email notifications when they work are efficient.
Inconvénients
Can be difficult to use and understand for both the people putting in data and those receiving it. It often isn't intuitive to how people look at schedules or organize their schedules in their daily life. There are times where emails notifications don't go through and then you don't know if it was the software or the person using the software.

Truly a "one-stop solution" for most church needs
Fantastic insights into the activity of our various ministries.
Avantages
The church day experience for the team and those we serve is great. It's easy to use and we rarely run into any issues. The amount of information available for reporting is fantastic as well. If you want insights into activity, growth, demographics, etc this will give you everything you need.
Inconvénients
This is an extreme edge case but if you're using the API for custom reporting purposes it's quite cumbersome. They've constructed it in a way that is very flexible, but you have to make a number of calls to get some basic information. With a relatively low API rate limit it makes development a bit of a pain. Again, though, this is an extreme edge case I would imagine.

Great praise or church ministry planning software
Avantages
Great user interface. Well thought-out. Easy to understand for members of the team who aren't as technologically inclined. Phone app works seamlessly with web app. Love to rehearse along with the songs on my laptop & then switch to the phone app in my car.
Inconvénients
There are a few minor UI quirks (media center covers the edge of the Order of Service screen, etc.) but really nothing major to speak of.

Planning Center is a must use for any service planning. It helps explain every detail of an event or service so the whole team can be on the same page. It has every feature anyone would need.
Inconvénients
Planning Center is super functional and has lots of abilities, but it is not extremely intuitive. It does take a little bit of training to use at first.

Planning Center
Planning Center is a good product to use to help keep track, schedule and coordinate multiple events.
Avantages
I like that it allows you to keep in touch with team members, volunteers, or employees in order to schedule and /or coordinate schedules for events, practices, meetings, etc.
Inconvénients
We do not use all modules of the planning center so I can not comment on the negative aspects of the software.
