Spiceworks for the Win
Use this as our ticketing/tracking system for a SMB. Free is a great start. Works well and is reasonable easy to install, host and deploy. What I like most is the community. If I have a one off problem I just can't solve I post a question to the community and often get one in less than hour. I'd pay for membership to the forums alone.

Avantages
First of all after we implemented spiceworks my e-mail inbox looks much cleaner now. I used to get around 50 e-mails a day regarding ERP issues now everything in spiceworks . It`s easy to use. Highly recommended for help desk and IT professionals.
Inconvénients
I wish I could customize the look. I don`t like fonts sometimes its hard to read I have to zoom in to see . Otherwise nothing complicated its very straight forward application.

My impressions of Spiceworks
Avantages
The best thing about this app is that it provides a complete report of what's happening on your network, for example applications installed or removed on client desktops.
Inconvénients
The initial startup of the software could use a speed boost.

Spiceworks is a great organized program
Avantages
What I like about Spiceworks is that I can stay neatly organized and always know what tasks I have for my day. It is also very helpful that I can make notes about my tickets and always look back on them. Great product!
Inconvénients
What I least like about this product is that some of the notifications I get sometimes repeatedly come back up after closing this out and becomes somewhat annoying but it is very easy to ignore

Cloud based IT management at its finest
Avantages
I'm an end-user of Spiceworks (my IT department installed it). They're able to track software installations and updates and it makes troubleshooting pretty quick to resolve when I run into an issue.
Inconvénients
I tried to follow the instructions for connecting to the cloud server, and it was a bit tricky to setup. I got through it after reading the support forums.

I like that Spiceworks is very scalable. It can work on networks of different sizes and on different vendor devices.
Inconvénients
My area of concern is where it relates to DNS errors constantly being displayed.

I believe it causes the browser to slow down, and sometimes scripts are unresponsive.

Spiceworks The number 1 help desk ticketing software out there!
Avantages
Its free and the free support is amazing as well. Also the product is customizable making it fit into organizations big and small. The setup is fast and easy. It does not take a big powerful computer to run it on. Updates are frequent and the community is knowledgeable and responsive when you have any issues.
Inconvénients
I have no complaints about Spiceworks whatsoever!

Fully functional solution
Avantages
We can now track issues with our various workstations, POS stations, servers and users very easily. This helps us to get the most urgent problems fixed first, while also making sure that we don't forget about the little problems either.
Inconvénients
I do not like the bar on the right side with ads. Local account can get out of sync with your online community account

Price is right
We have been using Spiceworks for our ticketing system for years. It works well and was easy to setup. We can even pull reports for our statistics. And the best part about it is it is free.

It is a free product to use. This tool can be used with other products. There is good basic monitoring capabilities. This is very easy to use and to understand.
Inconvénients
This product is nearing the end of life. It is not the most complete network monitoring product available. And the ads are a bit annoying to deal with from time to time.

Still learning how to set it up and use it
Avantages
First, it is free! It looks like it has what we need as a small help desk. Lots of community support apparent.
Inconvénients
Need time to set it up the way we want it to work. Little bit of a learning curve, but not enough to send me packing yet.

Spice works helps with th IT department to learn, educate, buy and review. Also implement new ideas because of spice works.

The resources are there for the it department to use, but my it department chooses to not utilize all the information on spiceworks.

Spicework is a nice way to submit tickets for a very cost efficient way.
Avantages
Obviously being free is the number one pro. It's fairly easy to use and has the ability to support many, many tickets!
Inconvénients
It's a bit difficult to install and the length of time to scan can be very exhausting and frustrating when things need to happen quickly.

Solid and Easy to Use Tool
Spiceworks is a very easy to use product that is complimented by many features and functions that a full commercial helpdesk tool would use. Our organization has used the reporting capabilities, inventory management, ticket management and allocation, and has really cleaned up our CS email inbox.
