We were using 2.0 this was a couple of years ago - limited function, google drive integration was a challenge, storage beyond that was an issue and it didnt really offer the scope of what we wanted moving forward

Dont know if 3.0 or whatever the current version is, is better to be honest, we moved over to Teamwork

Por decir algo, no tiene tantas funciones como otros productos pero claro, su facilidad de uso lo contrarresta. Y algún pero a la colaboración en tiempo real con otras personas pero esto es algo que puede ser subjetivo.

I work on the client-facing side of a medium-sized digital marketing services company. I love that Basecamp aligns perfectly with our multi-client firm. The latest upgrade to Basecamp 3 expanded the product's utility. Basecamp's design allows my coworkers and me to assign and manage tasks across departments. The new Campfire feature expands Basecamp's utility to include internal project management in addition to the main benefit of organizing client work. This feature allows for a more casual flow of ideas for projects that my team is working on as a group.

Inconvénients

I dislike that Basecamp does not allow the user to know the workload of another coworker. For example, if I need a small change to be made to a website, I would assign that task to a member of our design team. They are very busy and sometimes that task can get backlogged if the recipient has a long list of assignments to complete. Additionally, when assigning out new clients, it is important to see which of my team members has the extra hours in their schedule to handle a new account.

It always works...never encountered one bug and the UI is very well thought out and pleasing to the eye. It has just enough features to do almost everything I need and is my main method of communication amony my team and my clients.

I wish there were faster at deploying new features and listening more to their customers

The most impactful feature that Basecamp has for me is the ability to know the percentage of the project that has finish and track which element is complete or still under progress. It help me to have a better insight of the project completion and go forward with the report. Its minimalist concept of the dashboard also help me to find the tools that i need quickly.

Inconvénients

It is perfect to managing a simple and basic project with this software, but it will be harder to manage it for a project that need feature like Gantt Charts or Kanban Board that are more suitable to manage complex process project.

I love how intuitive Basecamp is to use and how easy it is to keep track of upcoming projects and set priorities. I'm new to project management and it's been so easy to set up every project and teach new employees how to navigate the system. You can set different projects for different teams and even invite clients to view projects. Plus, you don't have a limited number of seats so everyone in our organization can access it without us needing to purchase anything additional.

Inconvénients

There are too many places to communicate within Basecamp so it's important that you have a clear process. You can comment on an overall project thread, a group and in each individual to-do so sometimes it's hard to tell where a comment is located. However, it does show you which to-dos have comments within them and there are easy-access notifications at the top of your screen at all times so as long as comments are recent, they're easy to find.

We did free trials of each option and Basecamp was the easiest to use and the most intuitive. We were all comfortable using it and thought it would be the best option for us as the company grew since we could add people to the team easily.

Basecamp is one of the most exclusive and easy to use task management tool.
Firstly, what I find interesting is the ability for one to navigate freely using this tool, the interface is quite awesome letting me to easily keep track of my team's progress in several tasks. I have the opportunity of staying put, being updated on team's work as well as assign new task. It is quite mind-blowing for any project manager, you will not be disappointed.
Another thing that keeps me in awe is the propensity at which their support group works, I could give extra bucks for that, wow.., well that the customer representative is doing a great job. I don't have to wait for even half an hour before I get a positive reply most especially when my subscription is up. Well, I think this software is doing a great job and making things easier for us, less stress and easy navigation. Basecamp is the ideal task management tool for any project manager.

Inconvénients

Well I do not see any CON in this software, however, all software comes with its own unique and distinct cons, that maybe displeasing to some and best for others. The glitch or rather hiccups I could notice with this software is the delay in uploading files, it could be from my network, but still there are lots of new features I would love basecamp to add up like invoicing and lead management, I know if these cons are considered basecamp will be the perfect management tool. Though Basecamp was nice and easy to use.

Basecamp is best for improving organization and instilling clarity among teams.

I love the notification board in Basecamp. It helps organize and clarify details and next steps in a team, which can often times get cluttered or grow faint via email and standard chat-type programs like Slack.

The self-saving feature is awesome, too. I've been screwed over many times on other programs and email systems if my computer freezes or my browser shuts down unexpectedly so I have a wave of relief being on Basecamp in general.

Any applicable files needed can be easily searched for and found within the system, too, which is great. This feature is definitely reminiscent of Google Drive, but Basecamp as a software tool is way more robust, functionality-wise.

Inconvénients

Upload times can be slow and it can get a little glitchy, but the latter may be a function of my company's WiFi.

If everyone on your team knows how to use Basecamp and if everyone on your team are solid workers, Basecamp can help you save so much time. BUT, if you have slackers or lazy people on your team (all too common even in the best companies out there) it can be incredibly frustrating to have to repeat information that's already clearly in Basecamp for them to reference.

This isn't necessarily a 'con' but I'm often finding out about features I didn't know existed or didn't know were beneficial to leverage for my specific projects until I discovered them through conversations with colleagues. It'd be great to have tutorials embedded into the system so users know they're utilizing the system at its full capacity.

It’s pretty simple and allows for easy project management. It meets the needs of our company for all the projects we have. You can share files, post links, post comments, make new threads, etc. Has a great search bar.

Inconvénients

I wish you could reply to posts instead of making a new post to a thread. I also wish there was a scroll to top or scroll to bottom option. I also wish the name of a thread would be frozen on a screen so you didn’t have to scroll all the way up to find the project name. I would suggest making posts on a thread collapsible by date period since most recent posts are most important.

I love Basecamp and its easy to handle things and connects you to your team while you are working at the same time, it also helps you manage the task you are assigned each day, the files are readily available and sent real time

When features that needed to be added were suggested, it didn't take long for the Basecamp team to implement a solution. They listen to their customers needs.

I honestly cannot think of anything now that the recurring tasks feature has been added. That was the only 'missing link' when we first switched, but that has now been added and we are happy.

I was tired of the complicated scenario for project managers, you needed a PhD to calculate how much it would cost. With Basecamp you have a flat fee and access to all features. it's all we needed.

I don't even need to tell about this software, since is a well know service and essential to many companies like ours. From project management, client communication and file storing, you have all under one simple roof.

If you need to manage a project, just get this!

Basecamp is super affordable and very easy to use. You don't have to spend lots of time learning the tool; it's very obvious. The search feature and documents feature in Basecamp 2 are really good. There are a ton of integrations; we chose Everhour time tracking because it integrates best with Basecamp 2. The tasks are freeform and you can easily include Google Drive docs which really helps move projects forward.

Inconvénients

Most of its competitors have more 'management' style features, like Gantt charts, but honestly, I prefer the ease of use of Basecamp to those other tools.

Avantages

The ability to parse out the different steps in a project and to assign those tasks to someone else. I love that it has a calendar and I appreciate being able to access Basecamp on my laptop, my iPad and my Galaxy Note.

Inconvénients

The daily notifications can get to be too much because you can receive one for EVERY "to do" item in your account. You can turn them off. But, I've been afraid to because I don't want to miss anything. So, I suffer through the mountain of notifications that come in.

- Even though it's great for project management it is still complicated for issues tracking and progress tracking, we have to always use a separated tool to manage development tickets. It would be great to improve the ToDos in order to manage everything in a single place.

- Search is not good, lack of better filtering system, searching for specifics it's hard and results are always mixed between projects.

- No easy way to have clients separated from members if you don't started the project the right way.

How intuitive and flexible it is. Allows me and my team to track, coordinate and expand tasks easily with as much people as needed.

Inconvénients

Sometimes conversations can get really long and people can get lost from the original topic. I think that a "thread owner" is something this platform is missing. The person that created the ticket/bug/thread should have some "admin" power to help on keeping the conversation focused.

Avantages

Basecamp let you have a communication channel with your team and your clients where everybody can target new threads for whatever you need in your project, in my experience as a Mobile developer working with UI/UX designers basecamp makes my day easier to find the assets they shared or new proposals, but not only with designers also with my clients with feedback, everybody in the thread will know what's happening and can give their opinions.

Inconvénients

Probably they need more super powers, I suggest basecamp to have a board to organize tasks and new features for apps.
