Writing Usercode for a functionality is pretty easy and even without the coding language, we can easy structure the code as we want. We can also do multiple validation parts even into the database and into the server.

Inconvénients

As I have just started working on this tool, I didn't notice anything least about this tool.

Avantages

The good support is realy great. We have a very special desktop software with combined technologies (Qt, ATL and .net and a OpenGL graphic area) and the team is doing its best to get it running.

Inconvénients

You cannot have diverent versions of Ranorex on the same machine.

Attention to detail - example, the functionality to delete unused Ranorex Repository which helps to keep things organized.

Inconvénients

Not having alternative to Ranorex Path and image finding - functionality such as, finding texts on a web page. In some cases, Ranorex Path and Image Finding functionality is not enough.

Avantages

The integrations and capabilities seem to be great. I've had colleagues use the point and click/recording feature previously and could only say great things.

Inconvénients

Not Mac compatible so it has to be ran on a VM. The performance is slow while recording which makes the data entry a little difficult and requires the steps to be modified. I haven't found the best way to secure passwords, other than variables which are still readable by anyone with access.

Ranorex supports application like lotus notes, Jade software which is not supported by any automation tool available in the market. It is feasible to automate any application using Raw text.

Ranorex is not thread safe and not supporting parallel execution in the same machine and in same browser like leanFT and Selenium.

Our software is built on PowerBuilder, and nothing else has been able to do what Ranorex can for this legacy language

Complexity. The tool is proffesional (we have been used free Katalon Studio earlier which was buggy). It is very useful for mobile testing automation for our Android nad iOS apps. Tests are stable and easy to maintain.

Unfortunately - the costs. This tools isn't cheap. Also, Ranorex because of its complexity, it is not easy to at the first glance. You need some training and time to learn how to prepare tests.

Easy to use, especially for entry level folks. Of course once all the methods have been implemented.
Also, a very useful tool are the WebMeetings, that are hosted by Ranorex engineers. I've joined several, along with other colleagues and they have helped.

This is by far a great product that is easy, cost effective and a winner in my book, the only thing is that my team was not up to par to utilize it for the simple tasks I had originally looked at....I better sign up for continued education, LOL!
