Duo Security is a bit of a double-edged sword
Duo Security is necessary and useful when trying to protect your secure access to portals and data online. However, this company hasn't quite worked out the delays and programming bugs that still come with the app.
Avantages
Duo Security does resolve many issues with sensitive information and secure access, as the approved user is given sole access by having this app on the user's phone.
Inconvénients
There are numerous delays in alerts and sometimes it appears that programming bugs cause the app to malfunction, even when using the latest version of the app.

Duo Mobile
Overall, because of these two experiences. I am genuinely going to look into an alternative option and preferably leave Duo as a personal preference. I love how secure it is but it's not okay to have a safety exit that doesn't work - like come on?
Avantages
No one will ever get in to your apps or info
Inconvénients
If you need to get in, you won't be able to. I had a phone stolen, and then unfortunately lost not long after I got a new phone. I had my back up codes saved when when the first one was stolen - did not let me into any of my apps and the worst part is - they give you 8-10 codes to use for a 'back up'. When the first one was stolen, I was extra safe and careful and then I sadly lost that one and I could, once again, not get into a single app using my back up codes.

Does what it is supposed to do, without any of the frills
Avantages
this software just sort of stays out of the way until it is needed, which is nice. And when it is needed it works as it is supposed to.
Inconvénients
The app feels dated and the interface is clunky, but the heads up notifications typically work well so I don’t often need to interact with the app itself.

As a user, it (mostly) just works, but isn't as smooth as other 2FA options
Overall, I appreciate 2FA, and while I'm just a user and don't know about the deployment on the backend, it wasn't difficult to set up as an end user. I wish it worked more consistently, specifically the ability to respond via the push notification. But I do appreciate the ability to just use a push notification instead of getting a code every time.
Avantages
I always appreciate 2FA, and I'm glad our institution is now requiring it for all users. So I like that Duo keeps me safer, and that the app is relatively simple to use. I appreciate that you can just respond via a push notification rather than waiting for a code.
Inconvénients
The app doesn't always work. On either of my phones (both recent, capable devices), sometimes hitting "Accept" in the notification just doesn't work, sometimes it opens the app, or sometimes it just fails and makes me send another push.

Wanna make your users angry?
Avantages
What it does, it does extremely well. Don't get me wrong. The handshakes between devices for multifactor authentication are akin to Apple/Google speed. I was very impressed.
Inconvénients
Anytime you introduce a product that literally requires another device to be present in order for it to function, but that required device isn't provided by the employer, you're gonna have some upset folks. Having an app that people HAD to have to access their computers/email/wifi/etc., that was only downloadable on Mobile iOS or Android, but not supplying those people with the phone that they clearly needed.. we got rid of it pretty fast. Better options exist.

Two step verification for college website
Avantages
I like that I can have multiple devices registered. This helps me have access to my college websites from whichever device I currently have at the time. I do also like that it remembers my device for 30 days.
Inconvénients
I do not like that sometimes I am not able to verify myself on my cell phone. Sometimes switching from Safari to the mobile app to verify would disrupt the verification process for some reason. It would say the "push" was no longer valid and I could verify myself after that.

Safe But A Pain As A User
It makes sure that I'm really me and it keeps our files safe.
Avantages
My favorite part of the software is the Apple watch integration where I can tap and login instead of using my phone.
Inconvénients
It takes much longer to get simple things done on our internal network. I get that it is safer, but it still is slow.

Duo for security
Avantages
I love the DUO helps me feel secure when signing on with my information and the ease of pushing a button on my phone.
Inconvénients
It doesn’t always register and allow me to sign in. Notifications do not consistently show up when sent as a push regardless of phone settings. Also signing on when your phone is lost is impossible.

Quality Authentication Software
My overall experience was positive and adds protection in addition to my password. This is especially important for off campus access.
Avantages
I like that it gives multiple methods of authenticating your identity. Options available to me were a phone call, push notification, code, and external USB drive. Additionally, the account was easy to set up and make changes should they be needed. The user interface is straightforward and easy to use.
Inconvénients
The software is required every time I sign into Owlnet and outlook. However, there is a a box you can check to “Remember me for 10 hours”, so you don’t have to constantly go through the software. My only complaint with that is sometimes the check box won’t work.

Good Way to Keep Your Account Safe
My company requires me to use this software in order to protect my account, but it takes extra time and I would prefer to not have to essentially log in twice.
Avantages
Duo Security allows you the ability to protect your account from malicious users. It prevents hacking into your account by applying another layer of security to your login. You are required to enter your password, as well as authenticate yourself in another way before accessing your account.
Inconvénients
Sometimes Duo Security does not always work the first time and you end up entering your password and authenticating yourself multiple times. It can be very annoying.

We need to implement MFA
If it cannot be use for Office 365 MFA then I think we will have to look at different products.
Avantages
Provides a more friendly app that tells you the location and IP address of the sign in request.
Quick and easy to implement.
Inconvénients
Testing the Office 365 conditional access and struggling with signing into Outlook, modern authentication doesn't work regardless of Outlook being Office 365 or 2019.

One of many tools to do dual factor authentication
Avantages
It has the classic features of all apps that allow you to do dual-factor authentication. The graphics are simple and clean.
Inconvénients
It has no more or less functionality than other apps of this type (based on my type of use)

Duo is slightly inconvenient but does the trick in a pinch
Avantages
We don't use Duo for our own purposes. We have several clients that use it, and therefore we have to also use it. So, for us, it's just an extra step that can sometimes be frustrating if the right people don't have access (i.e. I receive a push and I need to approve it for someone else, but I don't have my phone on me so they aren't able to log in).
Inconvénients
It's a bit difficult to set up and get going. Adding users can be complicated depending on how the individual accounts are configured.

Does its job but overly complicated
It works fine, but annoying to setup. I would recommend for a company that has people that commit to administration for using it. I think users will need help.
Avantages
It does what it is supposed to do. 2 Factor authentication. It prompts you to verify login. It works when all setup just like expected.
Inconvénients
The didn't seem to focus on any ease of use. It seems overly complicated to setup than it needs to be. Enabling mobile usage has steps that feel disjointed.

Avantages
I like that you can set it up to send a notification to your phone when you need to use it to log in.
Inconvénients
I wish I had the option to have a token and a constantly changing verification number, rather than just having to verify on my phone.

Duo Security is decent for log in access
Duo Security allows me to log into various websites requiring authentication.
Avantages
Duo Security enables additional authentication and protection for websites requiring passwords. I can get a text message or phone call to log in.
Inconvénients
Sometimes the mobile app is not compatible with Duo Security and can be a challenge to use when logging in.

Avantages
I like how this software protects your accounts.
Inconvénients
A lot of the time when using this software, I am unable to login using my computer and have to have the software call my phone to let me login.
