Avantages

Everyone using it at the omnicom agency I worked at, were in agreement hive lacked basic features, rushed poorly planned new features weekly (in response to complaints), which caused disturbing time-wasting new bugs. The ‘pro’ to this is we all agreed
I used it throughout 2022 and changed jobs 2023- and I don't have to use hive now- big YAY

Inconvénients

Fundamental functions lacking included: cut, copy, paste ,undo (if software does not have these features working, run don’t walk from it)
Did not do their homework and as a result were missing many standard features. For instance: minor but expected: no total of comments in a route reviewing WIP deliverable (people want to know a review’s progress, counting 70 comments to inform the team is wasteful: feature was later added)
Reacting to complaints by adding features weekly indicates bad programming with poor planning. It’s not acceptable because….
New features = risk of new bugs - and hive’s weekly upgrades resulted in constant bugs, which incurred 2-5 wasted hours of each users time weekly spent documenting and finding work-arounds. We could not trust the software.
Heres just a few of the continuous stream of bugs that would suddenly occur, a non-ending assault, boggling comprehension.
-In the timeline list view suddenly all days of the week disappeared. The feature was reinstated in a week or 2, but only moving forward. In all previous timelines the days stayed missing
-This was crazy ; in timelines suddenly all line items reading ‘Client Review’ literally dropped to the bottom after in market date.so there was a stack of clients reviews after the project ended. We had to drag them back into position. Fun times!
-Suddenly but randomly, teams review routes started to freeze. The status of the supposedly current reviewer would read “reviewing” far too long. I would contact them for status and find they were not reviewing and often did not have that Hive project open. The notification that it was their turn was not received. To get the route working when that happened, I has to delete all reviewers which would remove approvals. The team members on the route had to be manually re-entered. The bug evolved and started mixing up the reviewer data. For instance it would insert my name reviewing for the Account team. I was project management…same work-around delete reviewers and re-enter..
I could go on and on.
I was tasked to write up the issues our agency wanted to retire hive. However removal would be hard as someone purchased hive for every omnicom agency. I’m not sure what happened.
My first company-wide software dev project was in 1991 for Atlantic records tracking sales in real time. Since then i have managed 12 similar scale software dev projects.
My hive experience reminded me of one where we inherited partially done development whose code was so ill-conceived the fix was trash it and start over.

Avantages

Hive seems to work best for organizations under 100 employees. It's cross collaborative and does a good job keeping you informed of upcoming due dates for tasks. The messaging service is also very useful and easy to understand, it's barebones but it gets the job done.

Inconvénients

There is a pretty big learning curve for the first couple weeks of use, particularly with assigning tasks and managing projects. It's not the most intuitive software, but once you learn how to use it, it gets substantially easier to use. The process for creating a repeated tasked is a little tedious.

Avantages

The chat function is HUGE for keeping our team connected while we are apart. We use it every day. I also love the "my actions" view because it keeps everything organized for me and I can stay on track and on time while juggling many different projects at once. Hive takes our feedback and makes improvements in a timely manner. I would recommend this product and it will just keep getting better!

Inconvénients

I think "my actions" should automatically sort by the next due date at the top (the closest date). Instead, you have to manually adjust the order of tasks by due date, which is a little tedious. Maybe you could offer both options? Manual and auto.

First, I like the workflow management features of Hive
It comes with project planing and makes remote work easy
It comes with task and project management features.

Hive offers all we need for workflow management and no dislikes.

I like the clean and simple UI and the intuitive navigation that make finding my way around the platform easy.

The sign-up process wasn't as smooth and quick as I'e like.

I use both, one for team work in my main job, and the other to keep track of all my different projects.

Avantages

It was super easy to create tickets, assign tickets and find past tickets.

It was hard to find campaign / project specific items at times. When they lived in folders things started getting sort of lost.

Hive allows the development of the team's capabilities to follow up on all projects on one system, as it provides us with enough flexibility to display different information in detail about all our projects independently or at once. Hive, through its capabilities to promote effective communication between team members, enables them to be familiar with all the details of workflow plans and also all the requirements of different tasks. I like in Hive the ease of preparing work schedules, and also the automatic update of the start and end dates of activities, and it is equipped with several views, enabling you to get a distinct view of work programs. Hive enables you through the project dashboard to know all the information you need, and also for each member of the team to know the tasks to be followed up and the dates for closing them.

Inconvénients

Not a lot of complications, Hive is very easy to use and all members can do their jobs directly through it. I just find that Hive needs more automation, especially with regard to updating the start and end dates of missions, also some improvements must be added with regard to search options, because in the current situation we cannot reach accurate results.

Easy to use, many different views and ways to personalize the UI to suit each person's needs.
Notifications are great to also help track tasks and ensure completion of tasks amongst the team is done well.

Hive is great for small teams with large, repetitive tasks that needs to be tracked on multiple steps, which is what exactly my team has been using it for. All in all good experience, has helped cut down the need or daily catchups as all stakeholders can easily see project status and update project details quickly as well

Inconvénients

No way to track version history.
We have a rouge person who keeps randomly deleting our templates in the organisation. Hive has no way to track things like these however.

Also, I have used other project management softwares, and a lack of a desktop app or a addon (meaning you have to always open a tab to get the notifications) is a bit of a bummer

This software not only helps to develop collaboration, but also encourages it with its ease of use and features. We use the software across our company to assist with developing workflows for our multistep projects. We can map out our steps, objectives and responsibilities. The multiple view options helps us to look at progress from different perspectives and gauge where we are.

Inconvénients

Can take some time to get used to and set up. Does require a lot of assistance when introducing the software to beginner users. Doesnt take long after the first few tries.

Avantages

Organizing and structuring recurring assignments for a team of writers who produce over 1,000 articles per month can be challenging. Hive definitely helps keep things flowing. My writers love how clear and concise their workload is presented each day. The ability to change and insert new assignments or move them around is also great.

Inconvénients

The reporting and accountability factors are lacking a little in Hive. There is some bad logic in their recurring actions that prevent us from being able to generate accurate productivity reports. They are currently working towards addressing this issue, but as it stands if you need strong, reliable reporting and also need recurring assignments, then Hive may not be the tool for you... yet.

Avantages

First off, it's the best priced option I found in my research. It's way below other services. I was happy to find that the interface and functionality did not suffer due to the low price tag. The platform is pretty much ideal for our purposes, design request forms, job traffic, and even long term strategic organization. Customer support is good, generally quick responses and help.

Inconvénients

A few minor things here and there, like not being able to delete custom fields that I created. I feel like I looked pretty thoroughly for a way to delete them and didn't find it, but I also have not spoken to customer support, which i'm sure could help. Some trouble adding users at first, invite email took a while to get to teh person.

Avantages

It's great to have a centralized space to manage all the company projects and view them in a single, customizable timeline. It's easy to amend as things inevitably shift. I started with the free trial to test out its features and was able to do the initial setup. The tools and layout are intuitive for those who build schedules and budgets.

Inconvénients

Initial set up does take some time as you build the database and various templates. Customization requires some knowledge of the plug-ins.

As a department we wanted a centralized space for all projects to live in order to get a global view. Looking to take it company-wide for a test run in the next year.

For the scope of our projects, this was robust enough to provide all the tools we needed, but less complicated than some of the alternatives.

Besides the tasks management being perfect, it has a time tracker so i can easily check how much time i spent on my work.

Inconvénients

Honestly, i think is perfect. The costumer support is great at resolving any problems found while using Hive.

Avantages

It's a good task manager, especially if you work in teams. If you set your preferences correctly, you can view and have others view what you're working on, and collaborate in different projects. You can add attachments and comments to tasks, making it easier than sending emails with attachments or links to cloud services. it saves a lot of time and it's very convenient. It's the best task manager I've ever used.

Inconvénients

The mobile app is very bad, useless. (There are 2 versions of it—both of them are bad.) So if you're looking to add/manage tasks from your phone, forget it. The most you'll be able to do is see what you're working on, but not make any changes.

It's very user intuitive. As a new user I have been able to pick up and user the application rather quickly and with little training. I especially like the forms function as I have been able to reduce the amount of attachments I send via email by having other users complete required form information right in Hive and then attach this information directly to a project.

I haven't found anything that I do not like about the application.

I love that everything about a project is in one place and accessible to all. It makes tracking, managing and keeping up with the team easier.

Some feature like Gantt charts are not available. There are also some integrations we'd love to have but aren't available.

It helps the business talk more, but without the formality emails can bring. Email still important, but Hive is great for announcements, general chat, and personal organisation (to-do lists)

Took a while for it to work in speedy fashion on our network, but that's been sorted. Only thing I'd change right now is, on the news feed page, it'd be useful to have a function that allows you to search or filter - as you can often miss important announcements (say about people leaving) as before you know it 3 or 4 other posts have buried it. So a filter allowing you to view only "people" posts or only "events" posts for instance would be handy.

I love hive, because is very easy to use, it is very compatible with users, and it allows me to see the tasks that I have programs

Actually there is nothing that I do not like, since it is what we have really had very organized in the company.

I love that everyone at the office can interact and follow up their on-going activities and everyone can see on real time what's going on. I really like that I can also measure everybody's productivity and accomplishments. I love all the tools and views that you can get to see the information that's on the table at the time.

I think what i liked the least was that i had it maybe a little bit rough to get started with, but once i got to understand it, this is a tool that has a great potencial. The app is weak i guess, since a work a lot on my phone and ipad i think the app has a lot of opportunities to work with.

I used this product frequently in my old position. Though I no longer use it as much as before, I still help out the person who took over for me. Hive makes it so easy to review and provide feedback to my coworker. It doesn't take long for me to take a look at what is currently taking place, and if I'm asked any questions, I can use Hive to quickly respond. What's most valuable is the ability to organize!

I wish there was a way to pick and choose alerts. There are some projects I'd like to follow, but there are too many alerts to feasibly keep up with.

It is ranked #2 in project management sites, customer support was incredible, amazing non profit prices, and I loved all the project layout options depending on the user. And, the interface was great!

Avantages

The good organization of the whole company is very practical for this tool. so much connection, so many options, it has many things like relating to those of the other areas, if they are in the same project.

It is very difficult to use, it will be very practical, but for those who use it daily and are constantly in it. maybe an administrator
it does not have languages available.
It is not so visual. although he does not need it. but it would be practical to be a little. because sometimes you do not know what you do or where you pique, because you can make changes that some administrator has precented.
