Easy to scale PaaS in top of Amazon regions for your own or orgs git projects
Heroku has a friendly UI and set it up very easily with git flow inside a corporation. The way it scales up/down its really intuitive and makes a team work without issues. However, sometimes, the PaaS lacks in display some different regions availability and have a higher cost for private spaces, so need some planning before implementing in your org to check if fits with your needs.
Avantages
The way Heroku let you scale up clustered instances using the dynos all through an friendly UI its a really useful feature that makes effortless get your app up and running to handle huge amount of traffic. Also its really simple setup a Review App pipeline created automatically by a git hook which makes easy create versions of the app based in a PR Review or purposed change.
Inconvénients
I think Heroku lacks in display different regions in the free tier and also private spaces. This limit your application for certain regions - if you're planning have a Data Residency and Region availability isn't recommended in my opinion. Also Heroku depends 100% with Amazon availability - once some regions of amazon or ec2 was off last year, the whole panel wasn't able to access. I would suggest have a backup plan with dynos in a different provider to have resilience in third-party providers.
Pourquoi passer à Heroku
I think Heroku still have an intuitive UI that makes easier for a team manage without go over so much documentation or troubleshooting if something happens. Also the company provide some support and buildpacks for legacy code, like frameworks such as Meteor and different Node versions.

Great Platform as a Service Host
Avantages
Heroku is my go-to when I need to deploy any application that's not just a static website. The pricing is very easy to understand, they have a great free tier, and the add-on system makes it easy to take on the services that I need to make things work the way I want. I really appreciate the recent addition of support for Docker containers as well. It makes things easier to use and deploy when I've got a containerized application.
I also appreciate how easy it is to transfer an application between my personal account and a work account. That means I can easily experiment with something in the free tier, then transfer it to the work account for billing purposes once something is up and running.
Inconvénients
I really wish there was built-in support for docker-compose. I use that to manage my applications, but when I deploy I need to switch over to using the add-ons. Not a dealbreaker, but a bit annoying.

Great for Hobbyists
Heroku has provided a quick and easy way for me to launch my custom applications built for the EC. It takes care of everything, all I need to do is code. As someone passionate about Node and React, but also as someone who does not care to learn how to use AWS (at least not yet), Heroku is a perfect alternative.
Avantages
- Heroku makes launching one's web app incredibly easy. Using git to push updates, the platform requires almost no setup.
- The overall cost is insanely cheap. $7 a month for the base is wild.
- Students can get a free year with the Github Student Developer Pack :)
Inconvénients
- The pricing structure does not lend itself well to larger businesses, in my opinion. At some point, switching to an AWS service probably makes sense.

Used heroku for multiple software projects and it makes starting so much easier
Avantages
Combines all crucial steps from version control to deployment in one app that is easy to use and dramatically reduces the amount of experience necessary to ship one's own app
Inconvénients
Monetization on heroku can be confusing, since the marketplace contains numerous apps that have basically the same features but different pricing strategies. As an app scales up heroku often quickly becomes very expensive compared to self hosted solutions

Free hosting for your website with Heroku
My overall experience with Heroku is exceptional. I had a lot of web hosting issues in early days as a developer. All of those issues were fixed when I got to know about this service. This motivates me to create more and more web-apps.
Avantages
Heroku is a cloud platform as a service that supports several programming languages like PHP, JavaScript and Java. Users can create their web apps using a supported programming language and run and deploy it using Heroku. A web link will be given to the user after deployment so that users can go there and test the functionality of the system. You can connect your project using its GitHub repository. 500MB of storage is given for the app free of charge. More storage can be bought from the website as well. Adding add-ons can enhance functionality to support databases like MySQL (ex: ClearDB adds support to MySQL database)
Inconvénients
It is difficult to find cons in this service. However, importing databases that use NoSQL such as MongoDB can be somewhat complicated. Also the URL given for the app is not changeable.

Heroku Review
Avantages
Heroku makes it super easy to deploy a server, which is very handy for small projects where I don't want to think much about infrastructure. Their free tier is very convenient.
Inconvénients
The free tier goes to sleep, making it nonviable for serious projects. But I haven't tried the paid tiers before.

Heroku has a learning curve but for small jobs, I highly recommend it!
It's not super clear until you dive in and start using Heroku what features are and aren't available at certain levels. It's also not super clear what all its capabilities are. Even as someone with knowledge of what Heroku does, it wasn't 100% clear to me from their marketing what all Heroku is capable of until I started using it (at the cost of my time).
Avantages
Heroku offers an outstanding app development platform, although it can have a bit of a learning curve if you've never used anything like this. It's great that it supports so many different languages, and the knowledge base and step-by-step tutorials are outstanding.
Inconvénients
Heroku's pricing can be a bit strange. While the free version is plenty for me, it looks like it can quickly become quite expensive, and it's not always super apparent what features are available on which tier, or why some features are locked behind certain tiers.

Good for starter and enthusiasts
Avantages
- They offer free back-end hosting. The paid version is also very affordable.
- Able to build project from GitHub repositories and automatically fetch updates
Inconvénients
- The lifespan of a free dyno is pretty short (30 mins). But I wouldn't mind it since I could find a workaround solution.
