Avantages

I like the ability to create a use an org chart. It's helpful for keeping track of who's working and what their role is.

Inconvénients

Honestly, the org chart can be a little clunky. Deleting an employee there doesn't delete them from the system, and editing the chart takes a lot of getting used to.

Avantages

My favorite thing is the clarity of the org chart presentation. It's easy to expand an collapse departments, and it makes it easy to see who is reporting to who, and in which department they are.

The Out of office section is also neat, as it connects to google calendar so you always know if your colleagues are on site or not.

The game on the app is great, it presents faces of your colleagues to you and you have to pick the name of the colleague as fast as possible. It's a great feature for companies that have more than one office.

Inconvénients

Very honestly, there is not much not to like. If I really had to pick on something, I would say that I would like if they ported the game they have on the app to the desktop. I think that's the only thing the desktop version is lacking.

Avantages

It's great to have an at a glance look at who will be working on a given week. Pingboard gives us better awareness than Google Calendar can, so we can plan accordingly.

Inconvénients

There are some weird, nuanced bugs. It's easy to accidentally place yourself on OOO for today with no way to edit it since it's considered the 'past'. It would also be great if Pingboard interacted with Slack. I've often wished my status in Pingboard could be reflected in Slack to make things more smooth an automated.

Avantages

I love how you can see different views of people that you work with. For example, you can see them all laid out by alphabetical order or you can see an org chart and see how all of the teams are structured. I also love the match a face to a name flashcard functionality. It's great for learning names!

Inconvénients

I didn't like how they took away the flashcard name feature from the desktop version. It's only on mobile now and that's not really convenient because I like to do all of my work related tasks on my laptop.

Avantages

PingBoard is really helpful in an organization like TurnKey where there is a lot of personnel that lives all over the country. It makes it easy for me to find the right person and get in touch with them quick and efficently. It also helps you feel like you know them a little bit better with there bio and things they like to do.

Inconvénients

Not everyone fills there Pingboard out fully and some people don't update old information.

Avantages

It's very easy to use. I can see my team, co-workers and the hierarchy in between. The ability to log time-off/sick days here and have it populate Google Calendar is very handy.

Inconvénients

I've never had an issue using the tool, but it might be nice if there was some way to track changes to the organization overall or hierarchy over time (e.g. a list of folks that leave the team).

Avantages

I like that I can quickly and easily find other employees in my organization and also view the graphical org chart to see where people fit into the hierarchy of the business.

Inconvénients

When viewing the overall graphical org chart fo the company I sometimes find it difficult to traverse the tree structure with the tiny little drop down arrow. Also, as the org tree gets expanded it's harder to navigate between more upper level employees and see who manages a specific department.

Avantages

I love the clear, concise way to communicate your company's table of organization. It's helpful when drafting AAPs and is a great tool when consulting for other firms. Folks are often surprised when they are shown how their operations are organized and it's very helpful to have a visual display of the whole team.

Inconvénients

My one criticism for this tool is that a person's display (usually the picture) is accompanied by a number meant to display the reports below them. But it only shows direct reports, and not ALL reports below them. So if a department director has 10 project managers below them, but a department of say 100, the director will display as having only 10 direct reports.

Avantages

I like being able to quickly see which of my coworkers are out of office. It integrates with Slack as well, which is nice. The mobile app has a game for you to match faces with names, so that has been a great way to learn people's names!

Inconvénients

The org chart can be nice but it can also get a little hairy when there are multiple members in a certain department.

Avantages

I like the organization and the easy access of profiles to my employees.

Inconvénients

You can't place one person under two supervisors. I also liked the old layout better. The new one is not as easy to add people to supervisor categories and edit.

The mobile app could improve. It times out frequently for me. Maybe it's just iOS.

We can learn a very good and organized structured present in Pingboard and reach out to our own colleagues easily. And we also know which part of the org they come from.

Inconvénients

No option provided for Custom work location. Say if I want to type Dallas, it's not possible now.

Avantages

The collapsable org chart is a great way to be able to review a huge org chart.
The directory is really nice to be able to look people up.
The automatic emails to update on who is out of the office, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. are nice.

Inconvénients

The dynamic org chart is a little non-intuitive to navigate well.
We have a lot of volunteers (we are a nonprofit), and there's not an easy way to integrate them into the org chart & directory.

Avantages

I've been using Pingboard for several years in several different companies. It's a great tool for easy access of employee info and org charts.

Inconvénients

As a company that has multiple partners, it would be nice to be able to include them and what team they are affiliated with.

Avantages

It works, does what it's advertised. Mobile website works as well which allows you to quickly update your status without having to download an app. Also there is a little game that helps you get to know your coworkers, although our QA team found a way to exploit the point system and they are ahead of everyone :).

Inconvénients

I can't really say anything against it. It has a simple purpose and it fulfills it.

Avantages

Instead of putting the burden of the org management on thinly stretched HR departments, this takes a crowdsourced approach where each employee explains who they report to. The software visualizes this automatically.

Inconvénients

No complaints I can think of. Some organizations may prefer to have some controls around a profile, and I'm not sure if those exist.

Avantages

I think the features within in the app. Figuring out who is who, a somewhat accessible way to see PTO, and who reports to who are great features.

Inconvénients

When I get to the homepage, the actions I can take aren't very evident.

Avantages

We love the integration with Google calendar, and ease of accessing information that we want the company to know but don't otherwise have a reliable mechanism to keep organized and updated.

Inconvénients

Some of the features feel like a "nice-to-have" if not universally adopted by the company. For smaller companies, I can see how the platform may not be necessary.

I use Pingboard to find co worker contact information. With offices all over the US it's a quick and easy way to access the info I need.

I'm excited to see additional features added.

Avantages

I'm a pingboard admin, it's helpful to see people's personal preferences when putting together something person (an anniversary or thank you gift for example). It's also helpful to track where co-workers are and quickly see their contact info.

Inconvénients

As an Executive Assistant who supports 2 Executives, and has a separate Manager-- it would be helpful if my notifications for time off went to all three of them.

Separately, the Executive I support has asked me to log his time off in pingboard for him, but I can't because you need to sign on through Google. If we were able to sign in with just a username and password I could sign in for him and do it.

Avantages

My favorite feature of Pingboard is allowing individuals to list their statuses (vacation, OOO, remote, etc.) as it helps to keep tabs on where people are if they haven't updated their calendar or you're too lazy to look.

Inconvénients

I don't have any particular cons; I would like to see more features added?

I like that you can easily see who is working and what is going on in the organization. It if very helpful for transparency and as an organizational chart showing everyone who works there.

Inconvénients

I don't love the navigation of the mobile app. I feel like it would be really nice if this were improved.
