Avantages

Really loved the integration with Slack and GCal. Before the pandemic, Pingboard was our go-to place to report OOO and vacation statuses. I loved how it would post to Slack and we could easily see which team members were not in office for the day. Another great thing about Pingboard is the user profiles. In 2020, we experience a high growth phase and new employees were joining almost every week, so having an org chart in Pingboard made it extremely easily to look up a team or even specific employee so you knew who to contact for certain projects.

Inconvénients

No complaints! It was a great tool that serves us well for 3 or more years!

Avantages

We purchased Pingboard so that we had a company directory (our company has been growing rapidly and employees felt they no longer knew each other); features I like include the emails with new hires and anniversaries - feedback has been really positive on this; the Org. Chart has been pretty good and even better since there have been updates - I like that they added where you could put dotted lines and departments in to better explain each branch. Price is also great!

Inconvénients

I wish that the system had more functionality and other features, but it truly serves it's main purpose well. We don't have many additional software pieces in our world, so I think eventually a full-service HR system may replace what Pingboard resolves for us.

Avantages

I get to see the entire org chart, and better understand how teams relate to each other. The ability to see everyone's manager or direct report is valuable. Especially for engineering teams, as I can better understand thematically what areas they focus on.

Inconvénients

The org chart UI is a little clunky and doesn't look super polished. It also highly depends on how frequently your HR/People team is updating the chart to reflect any new hires or changes.

Avantages

I was apprehensive about the software at first, but I find myself logging in every now and again to look up someone I don't know in the organisation to see what their title is and where in the organisation they fit in. The T-Shirt size field is also surprisingly useful when ordering shirts for events etc.

Inconvénients

Would have liked to have an option to integrate into LinkedIn to autofill some of the fields, that's about it.

Avantages

I love having a searchable directory at my fingertips, whether it's via my desktop computer or the mobile app. Birthdays and out of office notifications are also quite useful!

Inconvénients

Unfortunately the price prohibits me from sharing it with everyone in my organization.

Avantages

I love the combination of beautiful product design along with ease of use. It's exactly what you'd want to see in an org chart software and more. Both the desktop and app versions work amazingly well. I especially like the guess the name game on the app -- such a novel and fun idea!

Inconvénients

While I appreciate the minimal approach to this software, there's definitely more product features that would be helpful. One that comes to mind includes a description for each department and employee's general responsibilities. For example, if I were to have a question on billing, I could immediately figure out which sub-group within the Accounting team or person I should reach out directly to, saving everyone's time.

Avantages

Site is intuitive and easy-to-use. I've used it plenty of times to find people in our organization for reasons of contacting them, knowing their superior or direct reports, or just matching a name to a face.

I have no problems with it and have no desired features.

The charts produced look good, and work very well! I'm always surprised by how fast and responsive everything it. Also, they have great developer support, so there is a rich integration environment growing

It's sometimes a little hard to justify paying for an org chart. It's a fairly basic thing, and sometimes I think it would be cheaper to just build one myself.

This product is a great out-of-the-box solution that allows our employees to view our ever-changing org chart. Very easy to use and better than our intranet that was previously being used.

Relies a lot of color to convey information which isn't always the most accessible for color blind users.

The features are where you would expect to see them. I also like the voice and branding of the site as well -- friendly and approachable.

Looked at using Org Chart Software for my business plan. The chart tool was easy to install and fairly intuitive to use. So overall met what I was after.

Inconvénients

Most annoying thing about the software was the continual prompt to upgrade. I only wanted a single Org Chart so the trial was ideal, but prompts were annoying.

Avantages

In our company, we have personnel working in locations across the country. With the Org Chart software, we are able to add and remove personnel into our org chart and directory within minutes. It's much more efficient using this software as opposed to spending a lot of time in another program making updates across multiple org charts.

Inconvénients

Some of the functionality is limited such as being unable to share the directory with others within the organization.

Avantages

This software is a fantastic way for employees to share information about themselves so that it's easier to get to know other employees. Furthermore, managers can gain insight into their employees' interests, which can help shape unit culture.

Inconvénients

I wish there were a notification system that could provide updates when a certain number of new employees joined the company, so that I could keep up with new coworkers without feeling bombarded by notifications.

Inexpensive and easy to get started the first few times of trial.

Very limited to a new user once you get past the initial set-up of org.

Avantages

As long as everyone has a profile photo, this is great to be able to see the different people throughout the organization. This is especially helpful when you have never met the person and aren't trying to figure out who they are if you need to speak to them.

The overall org chart is also really fun to play with when you're digging down from the top level through everyone's direct reports.

It's also great to be able to get a high-level overview of every team in the company in one view.

Inconvénients

I don't think this is unique to Pingboard, but when there is a lack of profile images then this is not as useful of a tool.

I think this is more of a configuration thing in our implementation, but it seems like we have overlapping locations and it makes it confusing that you can "join" a location and takes you out of another one without any feedback that that would be happening.

Org Chart Software is a small and useful software for me. I am an HR and it helps me to decide the hierarchy of the employees at our company.
I am able to change and update the details as per the employees join or leave the company.
I am aslo able to add photos of the employees alongwith their name and designation.
Useful for HR.

Inconvénients

As of now there is nothing I dont like about this software. It is easy to use.

This platform has been so crucial for keeping an Org chart and sharing it with new hires.

That I can easily search for colleagues to get more information about their title, experience and some fun personal information as well.

It's not very intuitive when you try to add your time out of the office. Also, when you log PTO over the course of a weekend, it counts the weekend as days that you're off.

It's really easy to use. The organizing tool makes it easy to just group people by product or projects.

I didn't find anything wrong with PingBoard, maybe it could improve the overall UI.

I love that Pingboard automatically synced with ADP to build an org chart. I also love that Pingboard sends notifications when a new employee is added or an employee is removed. I have a better sense of our current organization size and structure with Pingboard.

Inconvénients

I have not explored all of the features, but it seemed like making manual edits on-the-go to the org chart was not straightforward. For instance, we may meet with a team leader and want to update the org chart in real time.

Avantages

In those moments when you don't remember someones name or title, you can glance at Ping Board and save face! Also, our organization was always slow to update the org chart and this made everything much more accurate!
