It is much easier to get out 120 builds a month, then you would expect. And then you don't have much choice other, then paying for this tool, because you already love it. Also, I would prefer to have reference to previously created configurations, because it is pretty easy to mess with it. As I'm not able to restore it from git, it may be painful to do it from the scratch.

Buddy makes setting up and integrating a fully automated CI pipeline super easy and saved me heaps of time. It's been very reliable, fast, and effortless to use.

It's a little expensive for what your get in my opinion, but it's almost certainly worth it due to the ease of use and potential time savings.

Avantages

We've been using this service as our primary CI tool for roughly 1 year. It quickly replaced our previous provider due to the level of flexibility for each individual pipeline. Above all, their user-experience is exceptional. Lots of flexibility and it Just Works.

Inconvénients

We've previously had trouble with the processes running out of memory, but upgrading to the next plan quickly resolved the issue.

Avantages

Buddy makes it easy to setup different pipelines for your staging and production servers. There are a large selection of pipeline actions available - integrations and tools to fit everyone's workflow. The Buddy interface is easy to navigate and the team has evidently put a lot of care into their product.

Inconvénients

I can't think of any big cons off the top of my head. Maybe one thing is that the pricing can be kinda steep, especially if you're a really small team or a freelancer.

Its very easy to set it up and get it going. My favourite is the UI.

Inconvénients

There is no proper documentation or training videos on this tool. Though its easy to setup some part of it, sometimes its really hard to find the help and configure something custom.

This service is a beast, from the way you start configuring your pipeline from an existing repository and all the available actions to the fully specified real-time log of the executed actions, the ability to clone existing pipelines and the analytics provided and the possibility to rollback

The only thing that we didn't like was the quantity of projects that you can have in the free version but that doesn't justify the overall quality of the service

Ease of use! If you're not into writing configuration code, Buddy has an excellent GUI setup that guides you through deployment setups.

Inconvénients

Transfering repositories from GUI setup to a .yaml setup can be a hassle if buddy doesn't pick up the new buddy.yaml file. I'm probably doing something wrong though.

Avantages

BuddyWorks allows us to create useful pipeline. You can even pipeline with approbation and testing.

Inconvénients

Maybe some aspects of the interface. The cards from each project are too big. If these cards would be smaller I could see all my projects and groups without scrolling the windows.

Setting up deployment workflows is an absolute cinch, with support for various build tools, version control systems and third party services out the box. Customer support has been great too, with quick responses and real fixes to issues (not workarounds).

Nothing so far, Buddy has been great since day one.

It was easy to get up and running within a couple of days. So far it has been able to handle 90%+ things we've tried to do.

I think the recent pricing change to focusing on GB/min means its more comparable to Github Actions and other systems. This means its easier to compare apples to apples. Previously Buddy was in a league of their own.

I like that we are easily able to use Buddy for all of the applications across our stack. We have apps on multiple servers and in multiple languages. The GUI is extremely easy and much faster than typing yaml files, but if you'd like to type your CI, they offer an easy import/export tool.

Inconvénients

It's hard to think about what I don't like about Buddy, but if anything I suppose it would be that their atomic deployments are a little challenging to use.

This is ridiculously easy to use and build very complex pipelines for CI deployments. It has saved huge amounts of dev ops time for use and allows for some quite niche commands to run when we trigger deployments.

Nothing really, I think the price points are very fair for the time it saves, they have a good response rate to support requests and are helpful.

One of the key parts I like the most is the ability to duplicate actions from one pipeline and move them over to another one, which was key in reducing the time to deploy for some of our earlier automation flows.

The handling of environment variables - have had to resort to particularly strenuous workarounds for us to have our environment variables shared between pipelines, actions and projects.

It is a great way to handle our deployments while it remains simple and easy to use. Even more importantly when it came to stepping up a level and starting working with ansistrano and much more advanced deployment systems it stood its ground.

How easy it is to set up new project pipelines and connect to new servers

I don't really have any cons at the moment. The free tier was enough to trial the software and we've upgraded to allow more project pipelines. We love how transparent it has made our deploy process and it connects to pretty much everything we need!

Very easy to use. Very powerful. I like everything about it.

No mobile app. No public repositories. No easy way to preload repositories with software IE: it would be great if I could start a new repo with WordPress pre-installed.

That it seems like it was fairly easy for the admin to set up and get us running test instance deployments on. It has not gone down to my knowledge and we were having issues with that on our old deployment manager.

The admin is trying to set it up so that we can use our tags/branch names instead of having to know the commit hash. Pretty sure it would be possible, but that is not as easy to use.
Also the first time using it, the "Run Now" button made it appear as though I was starting the deploy, but I wasn't sure where it was going to.

The interface makes use of keyboard shortcuts which can be a bit annoying at times when using things like the escape key to cancel an OS autocorrect suggestion. But once you know that, you know how to avoid it.

Buddy was easy to setup and training to our employees was quite easy, we are slowly adding all our existing solutions to buddy and felt like the process was quite easy.

Buddy saved me countless hours of server work by allowing something simple: deploy a Github repository to a server, via FTP.

Simple but I have spent hours researching about quick solutions for this until I found Buddy, and it works! The interface is beautiful and simple and in a few clicks you can deploy your Github repositories without much further do, few clicks and you are done. No more FTP cowboy coding for our team.

i have used the simplest of their deployment scenarios but I am sure the tool can do much more.

Inconvénients

Maybe the cost is a bit prohibitive if you are a freelancer or small agency. And maybe it's no widely use enough but I didn't really find extensive documentation or tutorials for the tool. Looking forward for more.

It easily integrates with many of the tools we use, and saves us a lot of time. As a secondary benefits, it helps our clients feel more comfortable as we can have deliverables more often for them.

For some of our clients it would be easier to have a more expanded free tier so they are more comfortable using the product earlier on once they have to get their own buddy account.

I like the concept of pipelines. As i am a quality assurance engineer so i integrated the pipeline of my automated test cases with the pipeline of the app. So when the pipeline of app is executed it also automatically executes my test cases.

it shows overall that the pipeline is passed but it do not shows that some of the executions were failed.
