Destiné à la MAO, le logiciel est livré avec 36 plugins comprenant des EQ, Compresseurs, Reverb, Delay, … on peut y faire des arrangements de qualité professionnelle avec des formats audio, midi et instruments.Pro Tools a aussi l'avantage de fonctionner avec les système d'exploitation Windows et Mac.

Inconvénients

Pro Tools a arrêté le stockage dans le cloud et son abonnement est un peu plus élevé que ses autres concurrents. Ses plugins sont exclusives avec l'extension AAX.

Avantages

Très complets, très flexibles, de nombreuses fonction d'édition. Une sortie audio parfaite.

Inconvénients

Une prise en main qui mérite d'être accompagner pour prendre du plaisir plus rapidement et laisser libre court à sa créativité.
Le prix est toujours élevé pour ce type de logiciel mais il reste raisonnable par rapport à la concurrence.

Avantages

Ce que j’aime dans protools c’est que tout est possible si on peut se l’imaginer et toutes les fonctions ont des raccourcis bien intégrés. L’édit est transparent et efficace, autant que le routing pour mixage et enregistrement est bien fait avec le I/O setup

Inconvénients

Peut être l’intégration du midi pour éditer les notes.

Avantages

Sa puissance, sa facilité d'utilisation, le fait que ce soit une référence mondiale. Parfait pour de l'éditant, du mixage ou du mastering.

Inconvénients

Les fonctionnalités midi ont toujours été à la traine. Le format de plug-in propriétaire. La politique commerciale d' Avid qui est insupportable tant il faut remettre la main à la poche constamment. Beaucoup de pros quittent ce logiciel pour d'autres...

What I like the most about this software is that the mixing and mastering is clear, with good quality and it’s better than others softwares.

It could be less expensive but it’s ok.

As an amateur music engineer, Pro Tools proved to be a fun and effective platform for mixing, mastering and vocal mixing. Notably, I admired audio mixing and tracking capablities.

Pro Tools offers some of the best audio editing features on the planet. The way the cursor works as an edit tool and the playhead is the best in class, and the fast, response editing tools are hard to beat!

Inconvénients

Pro Tools has been extremely slow to adopt newer features into its engine. Full plugin delay compensation was only implemented a few years ago (Nuendo had this in 2001!), and Pro Tools is starting to feel like a dinosaur. The expensive subscription model is becoming indefensible as well.

Avantages

Pro Tools, is that daw you need if you want to be on par with the musical elite. Years of experience confirm the quality and value that Pro Tools has to offer to any sound artist, whether musician, audio engineer among many other jobs focused on the development of sound projects.

This is more than a daw, as it allows the implementation of physical hardware and analog equipment for the development of our projects, years go by and it seems that this daw will never lose the crown as the king of the industry.

Inconvénients

Pro Tools, is that software too elitist, from the fact of blocking the implementation of third party plugins we can notice that pro tools don't try to be for anyone, the target audience of this daw is one that previously had a great journey in the sound field, although this isn't really bad, Pro Tools wants to be that software that would use your experienced self of the future, and not the current you who doesn't even know how to use a compressor.

Avantages

Pro Tools is the crux of my recording studio. From recording, to editing, mixing, and mastering, basically all things audio, I need and love to use Pro Tools for it. I believe it has the most user-friendly interface and functionality.

Inconvénients

At times, Pro Tools can be a RAM hog so it's vital to ensure you have enough RAM or you may have to upgrade for it to be at its best.

I like how they make it easy to use other companies products inside their own. They are the industry leader in using and promoting plug ins.

It is expensive and you don't get anywhere near the factory choices as Logiclet alone an affordable license that leasts for years.

As a professional engineer with over 20+ years of experience, ProTools has been one of the most indispensable products in my arsenal. The ease of use, for so many different genres & platforms; its ability to be integrated with other software & mediums makes this my number one choice of DAW's in the world. Well done AVID!!

Some of the stock plugins could be improved, which is no big deal with the integration of 3rd party plug-ins. It took a while for me to learn initially, but became easier as I became more accustomed to it.

Protools is an industry standard and as so has been developed over the years, one of the benefits of this is that it is more stable than it has ever been making it very unlikely to crash saving producers time and making work very efficient.

Inconvénients

VST integration is still a difficult process in protools making some of peoples favorite plugins not work in Protools. The interface looks outdated as it looks the same as the old Protools.

What can I say about the most industry-standard DAW on the market. If you want to work in a studio you'll need to know Pro Tools. It does everything I need and more.

Inconvénients

In the past, it has been rather difficult to make sure you have a compatible system. Recently, it hasn't been much of an issue.

This software is amazing! I have used it to record piano via midi, as well as voice, guitar, and violin through a microphone. I have mine set up for dual recording, so I can record two instruments at once. It is great for duets. The sound is crystal clear, and the interface for editing the music after recording is very thorough with many options to work with.

Inconvénients

The only downside with this software is that it takes a bit of time to learn how to use, but I don't know if I'd really call that a downside. There are so many options, it can feel a little overwhelming to start, but once I got the hang of it, I was very grateful for all the many options. There are several YouTube videos explaining different functionalities, which I found helpful while learning.

Avantages

The flexibility with the protools software and hardware is endless and renown for its crystal clear quality, which i appreciate a lot as professional audio producer and sound engineer. The editing capabilities are great and my favorite is the rooting system. Close to analog style mixer leads to more precise mixes i believe.

Inconvénients

The user interface is quite depressing and square. It could move on from that "oldschool" feel.

I like the fact that pro tools comes with so many easy to use plugins which is great for mixing vocals and making beats
