Good scalable database application
My overall experience with postgres in average. Its weak on GUI size but it is good enough for processing of large data which helps us in complex system processes.
Avantages
PostgresSQL seems good scalable and stable database management platform. I started to use it with my video project. Its performance is coming very good in such complex system. Its good for complex projects and easily deployable also in Linux environments.
Inconvénients
It is CPU intensive application and using consuming lots of bandwidth. Its interface for managinng db is not good as we see found better in mySQL case. Sometime it seems that it takes lots of time in processing small data, however it works good on large size of data.

Subpar, but easy to use
Avantages
PostGres is easier to set up than other versions of SQL it gets up and running quick and easy and lets you get going on loading/using tables to form a database
Inconvénients
a lot of the functions that exist in other versions of SQL do not exist in Postgres, so the learning curve is alittle bit more steep if you have no one trio guide you

Great at first anyway
Avantages
Overall it is a great dialect of SQL, everything works instantly upon install more or less. Great for beginner coders to learn SQL and understand how it works.
Inconvénients
If you're making a bigger app another dialect of SQL will probably be better in the long run as it has more customizability.

Yet another database
We choose PostgreSQL because is free and ever will. We had some small troubles at start but it is definitely worth it. Now it works like a charm ;-)

*Faster development than other database engines, for example MySQL.
*A lots of utilities for administration
Inconvénients
*Too many settings and some of them you must change/set before usage.
*Upgrade process is not simple, even for minor versions.
*Your knowledge from MySQL are not much useful for PostgreSQL.

The initial setup of a database is not easy and should really be done by a professional DBA. but once that is done, the queries and interface are fluid and intuitive.

I use postgresql even in my small projects it's very secure fast and in case I have a big project I can scale it.
Inconvénients
The user system is kind of weird when you compare it to other DBMS, but except that I do not have any big issue with postgresql!

My go to RDBMS
I've been using Postgres for the past few years and it's served me well.
Avantages
Postgres is easy to setup and very extensible. I also like the first class JSON support within Postgres.
Inconvénients
Less support and documentation compared to other RDBMS systems like MySQL. Debatably not as easy to get started.

I have used this database for small and limited time, but overall it seems like a promising database if cluster setup is done properly and can be used carefully in big data/cloud platform.
Avantages
1) This database is scalable for big data/cloud platform.
2) Can be easily integrated with deepstream subscriber for real time data streaming purpose or cache data.
Inconvénients
1) Queries are not always easy to find and build as keywords are different from other databases.
2) In some cases, performance may be a issue if database cluster is not set up properly.

Avantages
Very powerful DB manager with many capabilities, providing large scale managing feature, it helps to manage a huge chunk of data with an ease and is very easy to implement once you have basic SQL background. I think it is perfect for low budget investments.
Inconvénients
I lease liked the support options for this product (as more known while working with open source software), you might find yourself paying for service you’ll never get.

Efficient way to access databases
I had skipped the few initial classes and missed the part where the professor taught how to use the app. But, then I realized that it was very easy to get acquainted with the app without any tutorial.
Avantages
I have been using this app since last 8 months and I love the easy interface that Postgres provides. It is super efficient when it comes to firing queries, and provides error messages for queries that are easy to understand.
Inconvénients
I always used windows pc for Postgres, but people in my class who had a mac had issues using postgres. So the professor advised them to use virtual machines that were installed on computer lab PCs.

I love the accessibility of PostgreSQL- it has allowed me to learn the basics of SQL and master writing queries without inside access.

Great for using SQL at a start-up!
Avantages
PostgreSQL was what we used to manage our database and pull data at a start-up. It was easy to use and there are so many resources on the internet that really helped me.

PostgreSQL is good for larger projects as it is relatively quick and easy to set up. It is very robust and once set up it is easy to maintain and hard to break. PostgreSQL is completely free - there are no licencing fees of any kind, which makes it a great option for any project.
Avantages
PostgreSQL is lightning fast! It is an amazing solution that is quick to learn, reliable, and completely free. It seems to be faster than its most famous competitors with larger databases in particular faster in PostgreSQL.
Inconvénients
The documentation was hard to follow. Other than that, I haven't found any issues with PostgreSQL so far.

Its technical characteristics make it one of the most powerful and robust databases in the market.

It has a lot of features and functionalities. It is open source. It has a balanced and clear GUI through pgAdmin
Inconvénients
It is not the database that many language use by default like MySQL, you have to make a couple of additional steps to set the configuration but it worth it.

Fast, easy to use and fully featured
I think it suites for lots of cases and the fact that there are free tiers to small projects is a plus. Even the licensing tiers are better priced than others. I would heavily throw this into the mix if I was to switch out of what we are using now.
Avantages
The price vs others other there ie, MSSQL is a lot better. It is able to capture and process data very quickly. The ease of use is a plus but I haven't dug deep into it yet as it's a test base for us right now. I like that it runs on linux and windows platforms, good support for JSON.
Inconvénients
I found that it can take up CPU resources quite a bit. Although I was only testing it in a VM. I did not see any explicit user control over compression.

Best Opensource Database
Avantages
Postgres is an SQL-based database, so we can write commands as queries that are easy to create schemas and maintain those. All features are free and create a decent user experience and comfortable functionality.
Inconvénients
Because of query-based databases, we need to learn queries so it takes some time. Like most of the database's default UI interface, this too lacks in crystal clear interface. Some bugs are here and there and visible while doing large processes.

A good SQL DB
I am evaluating this product for a production deployment, for now I am using it in development.
Avantages
I use it from a few time and I think that the most important feature (and pro) of this database is the community behind it, I almost sure that if you have a doubt on the use of it you can find it an exmaple or an answer online.
Inconvénients
From anenterprise poitn of view an opensource project without a single organization behind it could be a probelm.

I can do all I need with it. It has some nice features, where you can see all your SQL tables, the data in it. You have a Query history that helps a lot when you lost some of your code
Inconvénients
When you are a rookie like I was, is not that easy to learn all the basics. But if you keep trying you will get there in two or three days

In my company, PostgreSQL is database choice when creating desktop based application or non-cms solution software. Support standard SQL command. Has all SQL great features. Battle tested and stable.
Inconvénients
Not as popular as MySQL database, so it takes more time when a trouble occur, although it rarely happen.

When I use Postgres I am happy. It does what I want, how I want, when I want. You can't get that just anywhere.

If they could scale sideways, yet still be a relational database that would be amazing. No one does that though.
