The most I like about PostgreSQL is that it's very intuitive, it's easy to create structures (tables, constraints, indexs) and querys thru the graphical query builder that let you relate tables in a graphical envioroment. I like too that is very easy to create a secuence, just set serial type to a field. It's a relational database open source and easy to install. The performance is good, I haven´t had any performance problem using it.

Inconvénients

I have good expiriences using PostgresSql, maybe the only one detail I least like is the syntax error messages, I think could be betther in order to find the problem and fix it.

rest . But It's issues is same , when i comes to non structured data , its not suitable
, good for OLTP purposes but not for OLAP purposes.

This DB server has a powerfull set of functions that has permitted to our DB Admin to generate more efficient reads and writes on it. The fact of having this kind of DBMS available on OpenSource is very good for organizations that needs to save some money in IT platform

According with us, configuration of PostgeSQL may result complicated, because of this is an advanced DBMS. Interfaces to manage are not simple, at least for me.

It's open source. So, its great for startup companies. It is fully SQL compliant. The admin tool PGAdmin is powerful. I am impressed with the custom data types supported by Postgres mainly JSONB.
