Avantages
It is one of the most regular visiting application in my Mobile. I used to check for news alerts ,new competative exam schedule etc.
Inconvénients
There is no such least for the application i regularly use the Google alerts for more News update.

Simple but all you need
I use it to get notifications about mentions about my business and brands related to my business. This gives me feedback and lets me know what should I improve. Sometimes I use it for competition brand searches.
Avantages
I think the simplicity of the product is its best feature. You just type in the searches you want to be notified of, and you will get them to your e-mail.
Inconvénients
I think it works good in its current form and does not need any upgrades. Maybe there could be some integrations with other software implemented to automate things, but personally I don't need anything like that.

Very useful for us!
Super useful to know when people are talking about your company or a colleague or a particular keyword you want to follow. It's been really key for us to know right away when our org is in the local paper or something.
Avantages
It literally couldn't be easier to set up a Google Alert for whatever it is you want to track. And I appreciate getting the automatic email alerts.
Inconvénients
I do feel like there have occasionally been times where things have gotten past the alert and I haven't been notified until someone sent me the article or something. So not sure exactly how it works.

The problem that is solved by using Google Alerts is not having to hire a content writer. I can have alerts sent to me to find the content I am needing without having to search.

The feature that is most impactful is having alerts sent to you daily, that allows my business to create syndicated content for Social Media. Google Alerts is very easy to use. This allows my business to have easier processes when alerts are sent surrounding a particular subject I am interested in reading.

Google Alerts saves you from wasting so much time searching the internet for information important to you. You can create an alert for any topic you want and set the frequency it is delivered to your email, sources it pulls information from, and what area of the world you want the information from. You can also turn off the alerts at any time.
Inconvénients
Google Alerts seems to work best for broad topics and not specific.

Functional alert program
Am definitely happy with Google Alerts. Some may find it too simple, but others will find that is what they wanted all along.
Avantages
Ease of use and clean design make for what I would see as the best cross-platform alert app for anything you may need it for. Never had an issue with missing an alert like some other programs, so I will stay.
Inconvénients
Some of the long-press and design aspects could be moved around to be more effective, but I suspect that will change as updates come.

Perfect for Tracking Press
Very good. I use to track my clients when they are mentioned in the press. A simple email with the roundup of the latest mentions is easy to track.
Avantages
Easy to use. You can choose how often you get your alerts (as it happens, daily, weekly, etc). Very simple to use and update your preferences. It's helpful to be able to have different preferences (i.e. receiving the alert) for different alerts.
Inconvénients
Nothing. It makes tracking press hits for clients much easier than having to do a google search every single day.

Overall, Google Alerts is a very easy to set up, turn it on and forget it, and you'll see results!
Avantages
I like how it was easy to set this up to be able to receive alerts for my different stores; it makes it easy to stay connected with the press releases and events that we are putting out there, for Google Alerts to tell us that it's done.
Inconvénients
I don't love how hit or miss it is. Sometimes I get the alerts, other times I don't. Sometimes it's an exact match to what I'm looking for, other times it's not.

Avantages
I like how easy it is to use Google alerts and how they help me keep an eye on important industry players and news with their reports, which are conveniently delivered to my email.
Inconvénients
The fact that sometimes I receive a bunch of links that have the keywords on them but have nothing to do with my objective - the filtering capabilities are a little limited.

A MUST-use for me
Though I'm sure this isn't what the alert is meant for, it would be nice to be able to filter through when there are thousands of search results on the topic, or alert, of your choice. Overall, I'd recommend this for businesses that want to track data or changes surrounding your area of expertise. If you're more focused on alerts on a specific person, I'd recommend this but only because it's integrated into Google and it still does the (general) job for what I need.
Avantages
I loved how I would get notifications via email whenever anything is posted about whatever alert I have it set on. For instance, my name is set as an alert which I've received regarding myself but also for others with the same name. I always like to know if something is posted about me, I can report it as soon as it happens. It's helpful when you want to know if anything gets posted about you. For business purposes, this would definitely be helpful to track down what people are saying online (not just reviews) about your business.
Inconvénients
You can't really customize the alert much. It only goes off text which isn't bad per say but it would be nice to have a functionality to customize the alert (i.e. adding the alert when a location AND "topic" is mentioned or the "topic" or stuff like this).

Overall my experience with Google Alerts has been good! It has allowed me to stay on top of my job hunting.
Avantages
I like that this product is free, first of all. I like that I am able to set push notifications that alert me whenever a new job in my area is posted. This saves me time as I do not have to do multiple searches. Push notifications ensure that I am alerted the moment a new job is posted online, bettering my chances of being one of the first people to apply.
Inconvénients
It is limited in that jobs have to be posted to Google in order for me to recieve an alert. For example, if a local company posts a job on Craigslist but not on Google jobs, I won't get an alert.

It is really user-friendly for most of the basic parts. It does not take more than a few mins to set up the alerts system to keep track trends of a company.

The least feature of this software would be data, which is not always complete specially with press mentions are missed most often.

I love this software. We love to see articles/content that are relevant to our business circling the Internet, and Google Alerts allows us to do just that without the hassle of searching for them.
Avantages
Any time something relevant to my workspace is filtered through my Google Alerts, I'm able to see content that I care about without having to search for it.
Inconvénients
Occasionally, I will receive things that aren't quite as relevant as I'd like them to be based on my filters.

It's just a good, simple product, and it does exactly what I need it to do without too many issues. Besides the time and effort it takes to fine tune, it really is great.

It can take some time to get the scope of the alerts right. Sometimes it's too broad and you can get way too many hits and emails. Going too narrow means you miss important things. It's a fine balance, and it can take some time, but it does work.

I need to track various job postings and I do not want to check all the websites everyday so I use this app for that purpose and it does a fascinating job!

The fact that you can almost put alert on everything you need. Google has a huge database, so they know what you need and this alert is the perfect tool to track for example various job postings you need.

I signed up for Google Alerts just to monitor my blog's mentions. I do know the service allows much much broader opportunities and I hope trying them in the future.
Avantages
Google Alerts sends me notifications each time my blog's name is mentioned somewhere on the web. It is very important so I can thank people who left a nice mention or learn some important info, if the mention was negative.
Inconvénients
I wish there were some more set up options like gel or language variations for keywords as sometime alerts I receive have no relation to my blog.

The alerts are rarely real-time even if you set them as real-time alerts. There's always a few hours delay, which is not really public relations-friendly. It also doesn't really have the most accurate results. But it needs a little training that's all.

I would recommend Goggle Alerts
My overall experience is great. I enjoy egtting the emails and I even got my friend to get them too.
Avantages
Google alerts sends emails to the user —such as web pages,blogs, newspaper articles, or scientific research. It helps me stay up to date with what is going on in the world. It also helps me find websites that I wouldnt have known about if I wasnt sent alerts!
Inconvénients
The only con is that sometimes it can fill up my email and get to be to much but other then that I love it.

Internet surfing doesn't have to be 90% time wasting
Google alerts has been useful for both my personal interests and work needs. Tracking developments and updates on my study courses and scholarship opportunities, as well as developments on professional entities or stories we are pursuing have been made 500% more efficient and productive thanks to Google alerts.
Avantages
The search results are very comprehensive, and I have always found the most useful leads through my Google alert queries. I also like that I can adjust the notification settings to have them optimized to suit my daily work time breakdowns.
Inconvénients
Beyond traditional websites, it would have been great to have leads sourced from Social media mentions as well.
