Tool already used in the company I found a bit heavy and not as efficient as other competitors
Avantages
As a plus I mention the easy installation and configuration can be installed on multiple machines is used in the corporate world because it is possible to create administrator rules to block access to inappropriate sites.
Inconvénients
As negative points the delay in updating when for example is released a update of windows 10 despite blocking undue sites often sites that should not be blocked end up being blocked. It often does not allow you to define for example when a supposed malware is found.

Pretty good
Avantages
Does better then most other protection programs. Gets rid of unwanted cookies, viruses etc
Inconvénients
As stated it's actually been a lot nicer then past programs I had used but it still has its problems. It doesn't fully protect the computer in my opinion

Makes my computer slow when I install it so I have had to remove it.
Avantages
Gets rid of viruses that get on my computer well and the auto update feature is nice so I dont have to worry about doing it myself.
Inconvénients
Makes my computer way slow. Seems to take up way to much memory on my computer and causes it to lock up.

The biggest issue will be amount of bandwidth used to download updates from the Internet. Product is very heavy and costumes much memory of system.

Our first choice
Avantages
The management console is mature, simple, and efficient. The antivirus is fully configurable, with a good detection ratio.
Inconvénients
It is sometime CPU intensive, idle computer get high CPU usage.
The Mac version is very bad, no client-side exceptions.

You have to use something to validate your software if you write for Microsoft Windows and Symantec works.
Inconvénients
We were not thrilled when we found that we only get one USB signing key. We might look around when our renewal is available.

Endpoint Protection - The Symantec way
It provides multiple levels of security to an organization's network. Installation is smooth and doesn't take a lot of time. It's management is convenient using a central console.
Avantages
It provides complete flexibility to the administrator. He can chose to install updates and patches directly at the endpoints or can push to each endpoint using the server. It is very effective in detecting malware owing to it's Insight platform.
Inconvénients
Customer care does not respond in time and at times the antivirus consumes a lot of CPU resources causing workstations to become unresponsive.

Reviewing Symantec Endpoint Protection
Avantages
When compared with other security programs, Endpoint does not interfere with the regular everyday use of your computer. There are not many nagging notifications or any loss of functionality when something goes wrong.
Inconvénients
Not to rant, but I think Symantec should focus more on improving the negative performance effects faced by some users. The application places too much of a strain on the system. To fully enjoy the benefits of the software, users would be forced to upgrade their hardware, which means more cost.

Great simple product to use
Avantages
Very simple interface but still gives the ability to do set basic exclusions. Takes all the hassle of management out of SEP and gives an easy way to get reports and notifications on what is happening on your network
Inconvénients
At times the product can be too simple. It expects you to want to use the normal basic profiles without any modifications.

Superior protection
Avantages
The installation process was relatively easy. I say relative because I had to install it two or three times. The software ran smoothly and eradicated any bugs present. It manages the firewall effectively and updates itself regularly. It gives us peace of mind that if and when any viruses pop up, they'll be taken care of. It's worth the money.
Inconvénients
There's not much that I don't like about Symantec, except that I had to uninstall and reinstall it a few times.

When there is a problem with the endpoint protection manager, the client computers do not update themselves from the internet. Therefore, your systems may become vulnerable to recently discovered threats until it is running again.

Symantec Endpoint Protection combines antivirus, anti-malware, anti-spyware, and firewall protection all in one package. This eliminates the need to purchase several different solutions, thus saving time and money.
Inconvénients
The software packages are heavily bloated, even though they are compressed. Also, a corrupted installation is not easily removed and will cause system stability problems, requiring a fresh installation.

Solid Anti Virus
Avantages
Symantec has always been the go-to for "fire-and-forget" virus protection. I know that when I install it, it works and I don't have to worry about it. The protection is about as complete as you can get without it becoming obnoxious.
Inconvénients
The other thing I've always known about Symantec is that it tends to be resource-heavy, so if your system is aging I would look for something more lightweight.

Everything about SEP is a winner. The firewall is one of the best, the device manager gives control over your devices, and the virus and spyware application is every virus' nightmare.
Inconvénients
It has caused my system to crash a few times, which was caused by some database files to my C: drive to its maximum capacity. I have had to constantly delete them manually, but I found a fix later.

Keeping on top of all the new ways to infect or gain access to our computers has got to be a big challenge. I have used Symantec to safeguard my computer for years and have not had problems or issues. I would recommend this product.

Nightmare to remove from a computer
We remove this from computers with viruses all the time, so it doesn't appear to be very effective.
Avantages
It's software, and the anti-tamper functionality works really well. Too well, if you ask me. It does exist, though, which gets it a point.
Inconvénients
If you're trying to remove it from a computer that isn't connected to the management console anymore, it's an absolute nightmare.

Avantages
Symantec Endpoint Protection gives the administrator complete control of the installations on the network. Also, the remote management feature is really handy.
Inconvénients
Since installation, I have noticed that client machines sometime take a full two minutes to receive an IP address from the DHCP server. I'm not sure why this is happening.

Should have been easy to cleanly uninstall
We got a number of users report the software crashes after updates, unfortunately this happens during the trial period.
Avantages
It allows configuration to turn on/off individual threat / notifications so you won't get spam by the same issue.
Inconvénients
We were in a trial period for the software but after the trial significant manual steps are required to cleanly uninstall.

Not convinced it is worth it
It started out working great but after time it is Not worth the money.
Avantages
My new laptop came with this installed already and I’m not sure it is worth keeping it on it. I haven’t found a solid enough reason to keep it.
Inconvénients
I deleted it from my laptop and every time I have an update it gets reinstalled. At this point it is mostly just annoying.

The price is pretty reasonable for the suite of products you receive, and also the ability to install on multiple computers is well-suited for our organization.
Inconvénients
In my opinion, the detection rate of new viruses could be improved; it is sometimes slow in detecting viruses that other products have detected.

I love that it comes from a trusted leader in online security. Its track record speaks for itself. Spyware and viruses are a thing of the past since using Symantec.

Since installing it on our systems, I have noticed that the systems take quite a bit longer to boot and shutdown. However, it's bearable.

The Symantec Endpoint software is great at detecting viruses, trojans, etc. It is also good at putting dangerous files in quarantine.

Symantec gets a 10 out of 10 for its stability. I love that it comes from a trusted leader in security applications and not a "just come" wannabe software firm.

The size and number of updates can put a strain on your internet connection, especially if you just did a clean installation.

Version 14 gives me headaches
I have recently started deploying v14, leaving v12. Its been a nightmare. The support is all overseas call centers, and the app is so aggressive on even the slightest thing in startup, and blocks many legitimate apps like angryip, simply deletes it if you try to download it. Maybe its good on an end-user PC, but it frustrating for IT staff. I'm sticking on 12.

Inconvénients
Sometimes, you have to delete temp files that it leaves behind. I had to manually remove over 20 GB of files that were filling my hard drive.
