Avantages

We like most the ease of use/familiarity because the base is excel. We like the ease of building reports and the new dashboards. We like that Cube continues to improve and add features.

Inconvénients

The implementation was a bit difficult because our software did not connect directly but in the end, everything worked out. I do think it is a bit expensive but seems to be at or below large competitors.

Have been utilizing CUBE for over two years and it's a great tool for FP&A in small to mid-size startups. Easy integration and connector establishment between different financial softwares. Support team is super helpful and conduct regular check-ins with us to ensure we're aware of new features added. CUBE helps save time on manual download and upload of datasets and allow internal stakeholders to drilldown into their expenses whenever they need to.

The setup of the dimensions are clear and not overly complicated; and personally love the feature of tags and formulas!

Inconvénients

Not having a robust headcount planning section within the system.

Easy setup. Excellent customer service.

The connector between CUBE and Netsuite is very buggy. It failed to synchronize the data after the upload everytime. It requires additional add on for any large data set.

Avantages

Cube is extremely simple to setup and easy to learn. I've worked with many FP&A tools in the past (IMB TM1 and Biznet are examples), but Cube has been my favorite thus far. TM1 is known as the powerhouse FP&A tool, but came with many tech headaches that required outsourcing of setup to consulting firms. Cube on the other hand was implimented in a matter of days, with no external consultants. The Cube setup team was top notch and was available to answer questions at a moments notice.In terms of functionality, the software is extremely easy to use and took only a few hours to understand. The website portal is very clean and well organized. Adding new date ranges, forecast or budget scenario's are just a click of a button which is a big upgrade compared to the complexity these seemingly simple tasks became with other software I've used.It works great for our month end close process, reviewing P&L details and variance analysis. Data import is just 1 click and data export into excel is quick and easy.

Inconvénients

There isn't much to not like about Cube, but there are a few small quirks that could be improved. Being able to refresh multiple tabs at once can be a challenge as every month the range needs to be "reselected" if you adjust dates/accounts. Some of my reporting will have 40+ tabs, which means I need to manually select the range for each of these tabs before refreshing data.

Avantages

It's just the easiest FP&A system to use. I've evaluated and implemented three other system at prior companies. This beats all of them hands down. I'm an army of 1, and the ease of use saves me tremendous time.

Inconvénients

Nothing. There is always new and better features being released. They make it better on aspects of the products I never thought about.

Cube was incredibly easy to implement in our org. Our customer success manager and the rest of the team were so transparent on how to not only set Cube up, but to really get the most out of it.

Inconvénients

I think at the beginning there were a few features that we would have like to see that are now implemented. Just like our org, Cube is growing and they do an amazing job of listening to customers.

I like how easy it is to update my reports and slides using Cube. I appreciate how responsive the customer service has been.

At first it was hard to wrap my head around what cube was doing since there wasn't a lot of data visualization tools.

Literally nothing. The product is really amazing and becoming better and more effective as the company grows.

In my experience with FP&A software tools, Cube has proven to be the most reliable and flexible I have ever used. I previously switched roles and decided to use Cube again at my new company. I use it every day and the support staff is always on call.

Inconvénients

For larger businesses, the number of Admin licenses may be constricting.

Easy to use, simple to implement, ability to create custom reports on the fly.

Inconvénients

Dashboard could be more customizable, headcount forecasting could be more sophisticated.

Avantages

It has to be Cube's flexibility and the ability to quickly provide the ever-changing reporting requirements of the business. It also integrates with our systems to extract data from multiple sources. Cube’s is such a great time saver when closing and reviewing month-end activities.

Inconvénients

It would be great if Cube could accept live updates from the ERP – This would help eliminate timing delays and manual refreshes required by the team.

Avantages

Cube has been helpful in automating our FP&A activities such as monthly actuals vs. budget reporting and creating easy-to-use Excel templates to track and monitor KPIs.

Inconvénients

Since Cube leverages Excel-based templates, it may require additional work to create various ad-hoc reports and verify that formulas/linking are done correctly.

Avantages

The flexibility of the templates you can build and fetch data to allows for this to be easily customized and adjusted on the fly. Once the data has been uploaded, it is relatively easy and simple to use.

Inconvénients

The implementation phase has taken longer than we had anticipated, and data errors/incorrect values continue to pop up when comparing to our ERP system that we connected to. However, the support team has been very helpful and for the most part, very communicative with the efforts to correct those issues.

Avantages

Cube is a smart program that is generally intuitive and easy to use. It has made our budgeting and reporting process far more streamlined and scalable.

Inconvénients

There always seems to be some sort of technical error that throws a wrench in the system. It's frustrating when a task that sometimes takes ten minutes can stretch to take two days because load times are pushing 18 hours and fail out. The Support team is great and we almost always find a solution, it just takes time and has resulted in our team having to push reporting deadlines.

Cube and its ability to structure and organize our data while still using excel has allowed us to streamline our budgeting/forecasting/and variance Analysis.

Inconvénients

There are some minor bugs to be worked out on Importing data and publishing but Cube is activeily working to address these with us

Cube has helped us save countless hours of work while increasing our efficiency and continually improve what we are able to accomplish.

Inconvénients

Some of the formulas in the Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement you can create in Cube don't always work when we are tieing them back to our FS. Not a problem, we just have to create manual uploads to tie.

Avantages

I love the flexibility of Cube. It functions like many of the big name multi dimensional tools. What I love the most is Cube's flexibility. Cube doesn't tell me how to manage my organization, rather it provides me the flexibility to manage our processes how we see fit.

Inconvénients

There is not much I don't like about Cube. They are a young product that is continuously releasing new features. If there's something you don't like it's most likely being addressed on the roadmap.

Avantages

The ease of creating financial reports. Having the ability to easily change the department/class/etc. for individualized reports is amazing. I also love the ability to fetch multiple ranges at once. I've set up reporting templates I send out each month. All I need to do is select all the ranges, which are on multiple tabs, click "fetch", and wait for them to update!

Inconvénients

I wish Cube would be able to hook into our ERP more seamlessly. I also wish if a result was null, there was an option to report 0, and not leave blank.

Avantages

From an Accounting perspective, I primarily use Cube as a consolidation and reporting tool. We set up a live data connection to Quickbooks and it effectively consolidates financial data from multiple instances in seconds - minutes. It saves me hours during month-end close and allows me to easily perform ad hoc analysis on a daily basis. I love that it lets me work within both Google sheets and Excel, while maintaining whatever format I choose. Plus, it was easy to set up and the Customer Service is excellent if you have any issues or questions.

Inconvénients

I don't have any specific dislikes. I have monthly meetings with the Customer Success & Product leads and they listen to my feedback (which is actually another thing I like most about this software).

Avantages

The integration with other applications. We use off-the-shelf accounting software (QuickBooks online) that while it fulfills our needs for bookkeeping purposes, doesn't allow us to incorporate non-accounting data. Cube has served as a bridge and has become the heart of our financial reporting function.

Inconvénients

It can feel a bit "blackboxie" in the sense that is not easy to find what information lives in Cube when looking into the web app.

Avantages

Cube has not only saved us hours each month from updating our financials models manually but also decreased the risk of human error. With the seamless QBO integration, we can now present financial data faster to those that need it. As a small team, every minute counts, and Cube has saved a good few hours to focus on other important projects.

Inconvénients

It can take time to learn how to properly build and edit the fields you need and the online resources could be better.

Avantages

Cube gave us a great amount of flexibility with how we could manipulate reporting from our ERP, Netsuite. It allowed us to leverage spreadsheets that incorporate easily into our modeling & budgeting, which was an advantage over some more rigid solutions.

Inconvénients

Our biggest pain points originate from data ingestion between our ERP system & Cube’s staging database. Our team has an unusually high number of monthly transactions so we don’t fit into the average customer's needs for syncing & transaction volume.
There’s additional review required post sync between Cube & other systems to ensure accurate reporting.
I.e. Formulas can have delayed calculations after syncing & not produce desired results initially

Ease of use, interface is very intuitive to any power user of Excel/G-Sheets

Still in the infancy stage of usage so we're still unlocking features, but that very satisfied with what we use so far.

The ease of function, and ability to use google sheets/excel as the default format is extremely helpful in integrating this software within our team.

Inconvénients

There are features that could be improved on, such as the ability to display multi-currencies for global operations.
