Ease of Use

It's very easy to use however, expect some links to need to be worked out.

Avantages

My experience with the software has been good, however, there are some kinks that need to be worked out. Unfortunately the performance of the software varies where identifying a problem in CMiC has to be escalated to support.

1.) Ease of use.
2.) Ease of journal entries. Clearly formatted.
3.) Internet-based - can be accessed from anywhere.

Inconvénients

1.) Lack of consistency in some of the processes such as job billing.
2.) Slow downs in the software that we are not notified about until we contact support.

CMiC Review

New to CMiC, have used other construction management software in the past. There is a slight learning curve but over time becomes more and more automatic. It appears that it can be tailored to your specific needs. Has been able to meet all of the needs any other management software provides. I use it on a daily basis with no trouble.

It is a powerful tool

The RFI, Submittal, and Meeting Minutes are great tools to use. It has taken a while to get the use of the software. It is a powerful tool once you figure out how to use it! It has so many capabilities and it takes time to learn them.

New user

Which training is done & we have some time under our belt - I think the system will be great!

Avantages

I am a new user. Once you understand how the systems works, the process is very similar no matter which area you are working in.

Inconvénients

So much detail to figure out just to get started! Not knowing when you decide to enter something how it will effect other area's.

Customer Feedback

I recommend you take a look at cmic before purchasing other software

Avantages

So far we are still training so hard to tell once we go live as to how it is going to transfer over. So far it is pretty straight
forward and easy to learn program

Inconvénients

Its a little difficult to upload budgets but I am sure once using it will become easier

overkill for a sub contractor

Understood where our company sits with needs of software.

Avantages

If you want one software for everything, this is a great tool for your business. It has every department covered.

Inconvénients

It's too much for a sub contractor. Price, features, everything is just not designed for a small to medium business. This is for the big boys.

Subcontract Tracking

CMIC is powerful and a key find but be careful

While we found it to be very impressive, also found it to have many little things that only came to light after significant due diligence. For a large GC, this should clearly be in the final round for selection but if not a large GC, be cautious as there will be gaps and struggles for fit.

Avantages

CMIC is an impressive product with tons of features, functionality, scalable to a large number of users and stable. It also has the ability to integrate with a few of our key platforms.

Inconvénients

While the pros are there, it comes with a price. The implementation will take atleast 6 months and often times close to a year based on all of the configuration and training needed. Also, become very dependent on the CMIC team for custom items and going forward. Make sure your business demands this level of enterprise application and that you've done enough homework to have everyone on the same page. I can see it very valuable for large GC's however any specialty trade or smaller construction will have a challenging time.

I work for a medium sized general contracting company based in Toronto. We have implemented CMiC's SaaS based xProjects solution.

We are using xProjects to manage all of our communications, RFI's and Change Orders. I used CMiC's xProjects for the first time last month. I was very impressed with the implementation/training services that the CMiC team proved.

CMiC's I/O Technology is fantastic and has helped streamline our collaboration efforts across the company. xProjects just works as you would expect it to. The fact that's its a SaaS based product allows me to access my data from any computer with an Internet connection.

We have only been live for a short period of time, but I have nothing but great things to say about CMiC's customer service and their product.

CMiC USer Report

Worth looking into has a lot of cool features that keep documents organized for PMs.

I use a little bit of the accounting and that works well. Three things i like about the software:
1. Web based 2. Clean interface 3. Good training staff

1. When things are entered or saved I wish the page would turn or go gray its confusing if it actually saved. 2. No payroll access yet 3. The name

CMiC Review - Josh

I use it every day to stay organized and retrieve documents and files.

Avantages

well organized, once you get some familiarity with the layout you can retrieve critical pieces of information on the fly, especially on an Ipad when walking in the field

Inconvénients

it can seem overly complicated when you first get started to send RFI's this is relieved after some experience.

Composing Contracts

Avantages

What a simple and easy program! I am able to compose contracts in half the time compared to our old system!!

Inconvénients

I understand that updates have to happen, but I don't care for when there is an update and it interrupts some of my documents.

New to the System

I have been using xProjects for about 2 months now. I have only been using some of the basic functions so far.

Avantages

I like that once the information has been entered, it creates an ease in executing documents. I can see this software really taking a lot of error out of certain processes.

Inconvénients

I don't think that the steps are easy to follow unless following written instruction.

Likely if company is large enough.

Avantages

It is cloud-based. There's no need to do periodic updates and maintain the software ourselves.

Inconvénients

They're still working out a few kinks. Mouse and data entry isn't as smooth as it should be. It's somewhat sensitive and I get kicked out often. Different web browsers work differently. I'm constantly changing web browsers due to this.

Not for the average user. It may get the job done but the method in getting it done can be a...

Too many steps to do simple tasks.

Avantages

The fact that the program is a cloud based solution is a major plus. This allows for access from anywhere where there is adequate Internet access.

Inconvénients

The menus seem overcrowded and not intuitive. The support personnel needed to be more trained and familiar with the product they are supporting.

Shangri-La Construction Review

I haven't completed the full training as of yet, but the training that I have received has been great! I look forward to going live, having more complete and accurate reports. BUT, also remember that what you put into the system is what generates results too.

Very slick 'modern' product

Avantages

We came from a QuickBooks and spreadsheet environment, and this is a whole different world. I love the product and the people we've been dealing with. The product really is light years ahead of everyone else.

Inconvénients

There are lots of options, which on the whole works well once you know what's going on.

Problematic with all phases of the program

Just Beginning

CMIC has only been rolled out for about 3 weeks so far within our company. It seems useful so far but I have not had a chance to fully implement this system. So far it is easy to follow.

Easy to Process

After 20 years of searching, we finally found an application that covers all of our needs. We appreciate the personal service we receive from CMIC and are happy with the results and quick ROI we have gotten from simply using this software. We have replaced accounting, Project Management and share-point with CMiC Pro Software. We were able to go live in about five months, including payroll and human resources.

Avantages

I really like the functionality, and that fact that all information is stored in one system means I don't have to worry about bridged systems that don't play nice with eachother.

HIKUU - simple and efficient

Avantages

Good customer service.
The product applies very well to our needs. Unlike other products, this software doesn't try to cover all the possible aspects in the industry, which makes it easy to use and understand. It doesn't over complicate things. We are still learning how to use it, but my colleagues and I, we are pleased with the way the training is going so far.

To date, it is a very pleasant experience. We are in the trainning phase, but it went very smoothly so far.

Very user-friendly product and timesaver for our organization.

Avantages

It's easy to use, connects all different departments, and makes it easy to manage a project. Our subcontractors and architects can collaborate with us. Implementation was a breeze!

MCarr Review

We as an organization are still building out and getting ready to deploy phase 1 of the software for the project management side of our business in the next few months.

Avantages

Web based app running on standard Oracle database back end. Ability down the road to open it up to outside contractors also.

Inconvénients

Environment required set up of at least 8 servers so far with more to come as we get ready for the load balances and possible dmz for outside access.

A large construction firm I worked with implemented CMiC and we were very happy.

Avantages

The integration to our established accounting system worked very well. I am able to submit payment requests and track them through the system.

Inconvénients

The GUI is not the sharpest, but flashy isn't always better. I believe in function over form in the end.

Project Management

Avantages

I wanted the cloud hosting and didn't want to have to have a 25 seat minimum. The three seat minimum was great for our size company and our current needs. The contacts I had with the company seemed more helpful than I had with some of the other companies I was looking in to.

The start up / implementation process seems to be lengthy and slow BUT thorough.

Avantages

The idea that it is an all inclusive software for Contract Management and Accounting

Inconvénients

CMiC is great at sales but lacking in efficiency and honest product representation. The product itself - CMiC Cloud - has not been developed for the Architectural industry and requires tons of customization (at a hefty price) and software accommodation.

The Outlook integration! It makes it so easy to manage all my documents and change orders. Cloud access allows me to work from anywhere and allows Subcontractors to fill in quotes online. The reporting is very extensive.

Inconvénients

It's very robust. There's almost too much functionality for our size, but we can hide the parts we don't need.
