Power PDF is easy to use and gets the job done. it doesn't annoy users with trying to upsell their product. I especially like the ability to OCR a document.

I started with this software (version 3) because it came free with my Epson scanner
Then I upgraded to the version 5. It does the job.

Inconvénients

It is not the same as Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Acrobat is easier in several vital functions (like merging documents). Also, Kofax is slow to load when viewing only a document.

Nothing - I miss Adobe and its user friendly options.

You cannot adjust the screen to your preferred uses each tab is required to be accessed separately taking up hours of time switching between tabs, edit, comment, view, crop. It groups things that have no business being grouped. Prefer Adobe that is single section separation. Kofax moves to much around when adding to an already in use text box. It adjusts the formatting from the original to much spend far to much time correcting what was already nice and in good format that Kofax screwed up when trying to add or remove items.

I have been using a PDF Converter for 20+ years and have introduced many people to the programs. Power PDF saves so much time with being able to type or edit in a PDF, I use it several times a day. The money saved by being able to work in a PDF rather than hand writing everything is amazing.

Inconvénients

I don't have any cons except I would set up the toolbars differently and make that part more user friendly.

I like that it is NOT cloud based. I prefer to use it on my own computer and network.

There are some tune-ups that are needed like the highlighting feature. But, overall, excellent!

It just works. No quirks, intuitive interface and simple to make the most of the software. I've been using it for years (and in another role use a different pdf tool as part of a corporate standard) and see the differences. PowerPDF is so much easier to use and increases productivity. Often, I move docs from one computer to another so I can use PowerPDF instead of the other.

Kofax accomplishes what it sets out to do. It is very functional with a lot of features.

The interface is generally clunky, complicated, and lags. While it has tons of functionality, there is a sense that the entire application could use quite a bit more polishing. Everything works, but could be easier. It works for my users and is cheaper than the name brand, but my users beg me to go back to the name brand because of these issues. I also hate the licensing. When you buy, you only get the version available at that time with no promise of even security updates. You better save the installation package because you likely won't be able to download it again.

I love all the features. I have seen some software which can do all the other functions but i have not seen any software which provide so much comfort for reading pdf files. I love the day and night mode while reading and all the other features like commenting, marking, signing etc. It is an ultimate application of all the pdf software i have come across.

I love most part of this software and i have almost nothing to say of the things I don't like. I wish that there was option available even in mobile version to easily get all the features by changing to premium mode. Which I was searching all over.

La parte dell'attivazione è terribile. Se aggiorni windows in maniera importante (ma stesso PC) ti chiede nuova attivazione. Dopo quattro attivazioni se il Windows ha una variazione importante nel suo Update come apri kofax ti chiede di attivare di nuovo. Ma non si attiva perchè hai esaurito le possibilità.Il software non ti offre (come altri programmi) la gestione delle attivazioni. E se per caso devi formattare tutto all'improvviso, quella installazione rimane attiva e se ti serve il programma su una nuova installazione (stesso PC) devi attendere di contattare in America il servizio e sperare che resettino le installazioni. Pessimo. Mi hanno detto di non aggiornare il sistema operativo, oppure di togliere Kofax prima di aggiornare e poi rimetterlo!! Folle.

I really like the ability to add my information into forms as well as being able to create my own forms. I have used Power PDF since version 2 and have gotten to know many of the featured in the app. The ones I know and use the most are the Compile and Create and the commenting. Making one PDF out of many and being able to sort them is important to me.

Inconvénients

The commenting tools can be a little cumbersome and I think it would be an improvement to have a floating toolbar to be able to click on textboxes etc. This is a small thing and easy to work around.

This software offers almost all of the same features as its major competitor at a fraction of the cost. There are no monthly subscriptions to deal with and there are frequently promotions for upgrades to the latest version if needed. It offers text editing, digital signatures, comments, pdf creation, combining documents into one PDF and much much more. It's a well rounded product with a great price.

Inconvénients

The only thing that really stands out is that the customer service isn't the best I've ever received. Their online help system feels a little outdated and clunky so it's usually faster to just wade through it and figure it out yourself. On the plus side, it's fairly user friendly so that doesn't take a lot of doing.

However, the impact is with the batch process functions that can be used to perform actions such as multi file optimization and other programmatic activities that applied to multiple document in one folder.
I also can say that the OCR functionalities seem to be a bit better than other packages that I have investigated. This is now my main package but...

I think it is a but pricy.
I don't like the companies licensing policy. The process to move licenses from one PC to another is a bit difficult, especially if you don't have the original PC at hand, eg. when your harddisk is destroyed or failed.

I don't like Kofax. It's fine as a reader, but for anything else I definitely prefer other applications.

I don't like Kofax at all. It crashes all the time which wastes so much of my time. When we first got it in 2001 it crashed so much that it was totally unusable and really messed up our work flow. Our IT team spent a lot of time (like weeks) trying to get it to work. One of the people on our team spent her own money to just buy Adobe Acrobat so she wouldn't have the headache of dealing with Kofax. Kofax functions now, but it still crashes a lot during edits. The adding pages feature really sucks and I have to do the steps very specifically or else it crashes, and I save after each step when adding pages and redoing the page numbers to avoid loosing the work I've already done. Weird things also happen if you remove a page and try to renumber. The page numbering function needs a lot of improvement.

It seemed that every time I had a windows update I would get error messages when using Kofax. (Had other error messages over the past couple of years, too. ) Historically I was able to get support but apparently, since I purchased this through my IT guy, now they will not help me. In passato ho usato molte app o software pef convertire in pdf e c’era sempre qualche problema: risoluzione, in alcune non mi faceva salvare i documenti ecc.. qui non ho avuto nessun tipo di problema, oltre al fatto che le conversioni posso farle da Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Corel WordPerfect

Excellent conversion capabilities so moving from PDF to Word is truly effortless. I have also used Adobe Acrobat for converting PDF files, but Acrobat tends to place text into boxes where Power PDF Advanced simply creates workable Word documents and Excel spreadsheets. Does a wonderful job of reducing file sizes. In some cases, I have been able to reduce files sizes by up to 80%, which is great if you are working within an e-mail system that has file size limits. Does an amazing job of inserting accurate bookmarks (automatically) when combining multiple documents. Redaction is effortless and the Bates numbering feature is perfect for law offices.

Inconvénients

I wish the document comparison feature worked a little better. It does create a comparison of documents, but tends to identify a whole paragraph as being replaced when only a sentence may have been added or deleted, so it makes it difficult to accurately represent changes when sharing with clients or colleagues.

I have been using this PDF software since before it was purchased by Kofax. I needed affordable PDF software for the creation and completion of forms used for inspections and for the conversion of reports created in other software to PDF format. Final reports, in PDF format, are then electronically sent to clients. The ability to "flatten" these forms and reports to preclude modification is an important feature.

Power PDF provides the solutions required for my business. The switch several years ago to the ribbon toolbar was a small learning curve but an improvement in the long run.

I use Kofax mainly for the following with PDF documents
* Sign the documents (save your signature in your machine, and you can add it as an icon; you can have multiple signatures, and assign them names
* Type notes on the documents
* Combine 2 or more documents - you can decide the order
* Use other stamps - "Urgent" etc. There is a number of predefined stamps, and you can create your own.

I haven't encountered any issues with Kofax. I do not recall what we used before, that other system was much slower, and didn't have all the features.

One of the best features of Kofax Power pdf that I like is it's encryption. As a user I find the password protection a document a lot easier than Adobe pdf. it's editor is very efficient as well and automatically detects the texts for editing. Optical character recognition (OCR) is very much enhanced and reads the images.

Inconvénients

Where I struggled in Kofax Power pdf is with its electronic signatures. The option to electronically sign a document seems to be a bit complex and requires a user to perform a good number of steps before a document can be electronically signed.

I like that Kofax retains the basic functionality you’d expect but at a much more affordable price point. It does what you need it to do, and well.

The interface took some getting used to, but that’s more the fault of the user and not the software.
