Avantages

Compared to others like Flurry and Amplitude there are much more features in Mixpanel. Lets you explore user profiles and see each users revenue and target push notifications to users with campaigns. Also lets you set properties on users so that you can enable features specific users and do A/B testing.

Inconvénients

The pricing is way to high for anyone other then a large company they used to have a good free plan but the current free plan with its limits is useless for production apps.

It's easy to use yet can become a very powerful tool to help understand metrics of web applications and behaviors of users.

Can be perceived as a simple tool at first due to its ease of use and clean UI and for more customized or complex tracking.

Avantages

Great tool to get the insights about the users and products. customer support is really good. Mixpanel is really good for Saas projects.

Inconvénients

Costly.
Reports and dashboards are not so easy to create.
It would have been nice if there is a forecast feature based on the data.

If you just want simple in-app analytics, this might be the tool for you. It's really affordable compared to other analytics tools out there.

This just didn't deliver what we wanted. We got on a call with their sales team, and they REALLY overpromised what could be done with Mixpanel. We'd ask, "Can we track this...?" , and immediately their response, was "YES!"

In the end, we did all the setup and the development team did a lot of customization. But the customization for dashboards just isn't there. We also didn't get all of the onboarding support that was promised. In the end, we just let the rest of the year subscription pass, and we started using an open source tool called Metabase instead.

The marketing tool is INSANELY powerful you can configure marketing messages or campaigns based on almost any data you can pipe in. The support engineers are the nicest, best support engineers on the planet (they have incredible depth of knowledge and explain in crazy detail). We see our Mixpanel marketing communications perform 4-5x better on average than our general email marketing messages.

Inconvénients

It's so sophisticated and advanced it can be difficult to know where or how to get started. If you're looking for a "simple" marketing platform, this is not for you.

I feel like there were a lot of features, which is great but it is also kind of difficult to use. If it was easier to use, I would like it a lot more.

Avantages

If you need to measure something in your website, sure it will be possible with Mixpanel. We implemented in a customer where we needed to track user behaviour to show KPIs to their investor and, although at first it was a bit difficult to understand and handle, once you get used to the tool and the documentation, you will be quite surprise about the huge possibilities. Metrics like retention, acquisition, conversion or lifetime value are not a problem anymore with Mixpanel.

Inconvénients

As commented in the Pros box, it is a bit complex to use. If you only need to track simple KPIs like visits, journey, conversions and so on... maybe it is better you start with another tool like Google Analytics. Mixpanel is a bit expensive and it is only worth it ir you need very advanced dashboards.

Avantages

This product has supreme visualization tools that allow for an excellent organization and presentation of data.

Inconvénients

I found it to be a bit too minimalistic, which could change over time if I seek to continue using the product.

I used to use mix panel at my last role, it offered a good source of truth for what i was working on.

Inconvénients

Sometimes the mix panel was not for me so i had to look elsewhere with what i was looking for that day.
