Avantages

Personally I do not enjoy this software. The boss however loves it. I'd imagine the features are pretty useful for auditing and productivity. Cool that it can be pushed and controlled from main server, when that actually works.

Inconvénients

Its pretty much a keylogger + spyware. The viewer doesnt seem to work over the network although everything is connected in workgroup, hence the issues. The clients stop checking in randomly. Setting up AV exceptions with RMM is surprisingly difficult. I am unsure of the necessity of a program like this for a small company. The installation fee is sort of a bummer, as in its lame that you have to pay for someone to fix the software. Some of the tech's I spoke too (not Steve V. he was wonderful) were not very helpful.

Avantages

I like most that I can manage my licenses from my server directly and make changes. The ability to have the software functioning without me having to check on it on a constant basis lets me worry less about it.

Inconvénients

The setup is what makes this software hard to use. I use a domain server and it is tricky to install and get the workstations synced with the server properly. I have gotten it to work, but it is a long process of having to go to the individual computers, install the recorder, and change the antivirus permission settings which is a pain.

The vast feature set is the best part of this software. The granularity in the amount of information you can capture is impressive.

The configuration. I wish there was some way of automating the whitelisting in different anti-virus softwares. If not set up 100% correct, I find it can consistently get flagged.

Installing Veriato and the agent is straight forward and easy. Being able to capture the user activity on an endpoint during an investigation is vital for an company. Support is easy to get ahold of and is always helpful.

No cons with the latest version as most issues have been fixed

Love the ability to track multiple parameters at the desktop level. We can easily gather enough information on a specific user and see what their daily work habits are across the network and the Internet.

Some portions of the user interface tends to be a little confusing and not as intuitive as we'd like but overall it gets the job done. I'm confident future software releases will provide us with enhancements.

Application is extremely easy to set up and use. We were up and running in a very short amount of time when compared to other solutions that were evaluated.

The ability to record the screen and have forensic evidence of what happened on the PC. If we have any issues with telecommuters not being productive we can see what is going on and discuss the reality with the team member. There is no lying out of the proof this provides.

The product does use a lot of resources on the server, but that is expected for what we are getting.

When we first bought the software, it worked great and all the features functioned properly. Then the system was modified, and since then it has never worked right.

No matter how many times we reached out for technical assistance, we could never get the system to function 100%. Basically the only part that functions properly that show us actual activity is the screenshots. The email features in the system don't work.

The fact that our IT Support company could not get it deployed to our computers. It interfered with our digital security such that individual PCs crashed once it was installed.

Our IT Support people reported that "Due to the systems locking up and performance loss we had to remove the software. The staff couldn’t even perform daily duties with software installed."

When we notified Veriato of the situation, only weeks after we bought it, they said they would not provide a refund. Bad pool!

As we rotate computers through their lifecycle, the host names change. This software, after all licenses are assigned to host names, cannot reassign a license to a computer with a different host name without calling support for a license reclaim.
