Sendgrid is easy to implement for transactional emails. Its API is well documented and handles any scale. It helps to keep our domain safe for email sending with spam protection. Sent reports and analytics are really detailed so you can see every detail of the emails sent. It serves also very good pre-designed email templates. We use and modify them for our marketing campaigns. The price is very good, including a free plan which has enough limits for contact and emails for small businesses.

It should be a little difficult to use for first time users. But once you understand the system it is very practical to use.

At work we use Sendgrid to send mass emails for our clients on their websites whenever they need it, or when our automated systems need to send emails, we use Sendgrid to do so, so we don't have to relly on business Gmail or having to be swapping gmail accounts and using api's to connect to them since Google blocks them. We also use Send grid to text activation codes to our users and it all works super well for the price!

Managing the delivery of our emails from multiple websites is easy. They make A/B testing painless, and their reporting features are above what I would have expected. Managing unsubscribes is quick to do as you only need to search by name or email and uncheck a box!

SendGrid is pretty simple and straightforward when it comes to email marketing platforms I have used. The interface is a little different that what you might expect, but it is quick and simple to use. I also like that their customer service and product development teams are very open to new ideas.

Asset management of images is cumbersome. I have only been able to get to the asset manager indirectly through the campaign builder and then you have to copy and paste the resulting URLs into your campaign to get them to appear. They may have fixed this by now, but it was the most memorable pain point for me.

Good starting point for a small company. Freemium plan was working quite well. After an initial period volume started to increase and that caused the upgrade.

Ironically we started to have deliverability problems as soon as we upgraded to the Essential plan. Our emails started to bounced with "face" reasons given as explanation. According to their support, the recipient complains caused the bounces. Yet, it these very recipients complained to us that they were not receiving their email notifications. The only solution the Sendgrid offered was to upgrade to a dedicated IP address that would not help much because our lower volume of email traffic. Very disappointing lack of support.
