SAP HANA, or Netweaver over HANA DB (HDB) is a step into the future. Before this concept of in-memory computing and memory storage (without reading the disk all the time), some reports took very long to load. Now you can get access to a larger piece of data in seconds. HANA also brings BW to another level of real time reporting, even detailed information can be shown in no time, its very fast. The way we build views by using the HANA Modeler is very simple but yet powerful, you can do a lot with little knowledge and much more with some expertise.

Inconvénients

The tools used to work with HANA are both the HANA Studio or Eclipse with SAP HANA plugins. In my opinion, it could be better than it is; with more components, less bugs (you have to restart the environment every once in a while) and a better explanation about how the aggregation you see has been formed (Simpler than PlanViz).

Complex implementation is one of the major cons, it demands careful planning, skilled personnel, and substantial training investment. There are more challenges while comes to customizing SAP S/4 HANA compared to SAP MM .

If you are looking for an ERP product from SAP, and not willing to go with the traditional way, then look no further. This provides a quick solution for your ERP requirements.

Inconvénients

Since your DB is on the cloud, I personally feel that the response time isn't always that great that you generally sought in real world when doing business. Further, a bit pricey when your requirements are not that heavy.

Avantages

SAP is a very good ERP system. It allows the efficient management of data, real-time control of different processes, and inventory management. It is also very easy to ingrate SAP with other business systems.

Inconvénients

This might be a one-off experience, but I did not have a very good experience with their customer support regarding one ticket that I created. Otherwise, everything else is spot on.

I'm SAP Consultant. My client who went for SAP S/4HANA for Finance is a big manufacturing company with lots of cash flows in and out every month, and has a large number of SKUs.

Avantages

I use it every second day at work anyand it is so functional in the day to day running and record keeping of the business. Keeps recorded input safe as long as you don't forget to click on the save command. I use it to capture daily production reports, incidents and observations at work. Makes recording keeping easy and organised.

Inconvénients

Sometimes when I enter Actual hours in one of the tools we call ik34, it reads my hours as over where even when my hours are way less. I still haven't figured out what could it be that leads to that.

Avantages

I have interacted with with SAP HANA for one year now. Sap HANA is a powerful in-memory database by SAP that allows both transactions and analytics to run on it. Sap HANA allows for fast processing of large volumes of data.

My favourite feature about SAP HANA is its ability to provide Persuasive Analytics through customized dashboards e.g. top 5 customers by sales amount, total sales amount, stock turnover e.tc.

Another cool thing about SAP HANA is the level of security offered by the database. SAP HANA offers robust security features that include access management controls.

Inconvénients

SAP HANA is generally costly and more complex as compared to other database solutions for SAP in the market. I think the benefits offered by the database are totally worth every coin you spend on the database.

Very appealing strategy/roadmap about an efficient, intelligent ERP system.
Support many different countries with localization package and there are more to come.

Inconvénients

Advance features (analytics, e.g.) come with premium licenses and sometimes based on volumes of docs/revenue (e.g. eDocument). So might be expensive.
On the other hands, some products are not supported in some countries. Then the implementation of a 3rd party software to SAP might be time-consuming.
SAP always suggests their standard solution and often their standards might be very different to the company's standard.

Avantages

Finally SAP provide a new release that is up to date with recent trends: cloud. It grant a new better USer experience leveraging the SAP Fiori technology.

Inconvénients

IT is needed a fremework that allow to easily create web application (using SAP Fiori) that allow to deploy an app in days and not months.

The features here are ambitious and with a simple business with few complexities could be nice to leverage.

Inconvénients

The platform and overall user experience is not very intuitive. If you're in a complex business with users of all levels of expertise when it comes to understanding software, expect some growing pains when it comes to the rollout of this platform.

This software is trying to do much at once, SAP was sold as a solution to the last two companies I worked for in the creative industry but in each case the SAP software has caused more harm than help. The software is good for invoicing but there are too many bugs or loop holes in the program causing records to be untraceable or inefficient. It should not take 20 minutes plus a manual override to a software bug to create a slipping ship.

I love how complex this program is. I don't think that even if I work at my workplace for 10 years I will be able to know all of it's functions. You can do everything here.

Inconvénients

It is not the easiest thing to learn usage of. It took me some time, but now I am using it effortlessly. I would recommend it to any company importing and exporting goods.

5- the need for the company to define all its processes before purchasing such huge system as you may spend more than what's actually needed for your operations to run

- Once someone explains the basics of it to you, it's reasonably easy to use.
- The documentation for this software is very good and allows you to find out how to do what you need to do quite quickly. Furthermore, if you encounter issues the customer service is very good and fast.

Inconvénients

- The user interface feels like it's stuck in the 1990s. I understand that it's more about functionality than appearance, but starting at it for a whole workday can be quite a gloomy experience. It doesn't feel like a nice 'atmosphere' to work in, and I feel some aesthetic improvements would vastly improve user experience.

The best thing is its versatility. It can store information from different sources and cycles according to request without a hitch. We significantly use it to oversee the resources and general undertakings are executed really well.

Few a time I have experienced hung strings which delayed down the handling and a restart was required in some cases. Apparently complex back end processes for cross-utilitarian joining particularly with finance related tasks.

The software is one of the best ERPs I came accross. It has very good reporting based on transaction codes.
There are lot of standard reports to cater every need of business. Also there are certain customization which can be made.

For new users it is slightly complicated to learn this software.

Avantages

Our company was coming from an extremely static and out-dated ERP system so this solution was an absolute breath of fresh air! From the report builder to the Accounting modules, and the ability to have the entire system run in the cloud we couldn't go wrong.

Inconvénients

Implementation was rough for us at first, so definitely allot more than enough time for users to get acclimated to the system whether there's 10 users or 100. The system also had some issues connecting to our SharePoint Online system to save reports and files generated from SAP but that was later corrected.
