Manual processes, lots of bad data and not a great payroll software
Not good. I wish we didn't move providers and stayed with what we had. The payroll features are horrible and have tons of bugs and don't make a lot of sense. I don't think someone with real life payroll experience created this system. Its more features for HR but even those features have tons of bugs. Way to much manual input and not alot of great data.
Avantages
They state they have so many features but they don't function properly - lots of data but the reports don't work great.
Inconvénients
We moved from Paycor thinking we would get all these upgrades - they over promise and under deliver - lots of bugs and no one seems to know how to fix things.

Wish We Chose Different Software
Pretty horrible with one exception. We LOVED our implementation specialist, Ivy Miranda. However the "Solutions Consultant" was a pompous ass when we ran into problems and the Relationship Manager was not of much help.
Avantages
The Benefits Module is user friendly. But even with that, the EDI team is non-responsive sometimes and we've had trouble with data on carrier invoices.
Inconvénients
Performance Module: We abandoned it because:
i.Menus are confusing. The word "Comments" is hard coded and it means "Submit." Therefore saving and submitting was hard.
ii.Several people didn't understand how to use the "goals" systems.
Recruitment Module: Clunky. Could not drag and drop resumes to email and other problems. We abandoned it.
Compensation Module: Could not even finish implementation. 2 parts of the system do not "talk to each other" so we could not display information for primary positions and secondary positions in the same report.
Core HR: Requires dual entry in several fields because the 2 part of the system do not share data. It's like 2 separate systems cobbled together. Infuriating.

Based on my experience I can't recommend the product to anybody
Avantages
I can not say that it was some positive experience.
Inconvénients
The UI was old and bad. On a few pages I observed that loader never gone even though page loaded. I used their api for communication with our platform and it was awful experience. The technology is so old.

Kronos WorkForce Ready
Avantages
The termination process is less steps than it was in Kronos Workforce Central
Inconvénients
Using WFR is like taking a trip back in time. The functionality of the system is very clunky, and resembles the old dos systems. There is no room to customize to fit our company needs. We were told that this system would free up our team to do other projects, if anything it has increased the time needed to preform. The date sensitivity is very annoying, when we make changes we should be able to enter them with an effective date, but the system uses the date we are entering the employee changes as the effective date.
During implementation, we were constantly told 'the system does not do that', or 'that can't be done'. Out implementation process was terrible, and we still don't have everything working. Moving from one Kronos product to another should have been seamless, it was anything but seamless. The implementation team should have been able to look at our company in Central and recreate in Ready, without us having to provide everything for them. This was the worst implementation I have ever gone through, it was worse that SAP, which is very sad.
I could go on and on, but I won't. I have a spreadsheet comparing Kronos Workforce Central to Kronos Workforce Ready, if you would like to see it I can provide for you.

Avoid UKG
Terrible. Read my paragraph in "cons".
Avantages
They do have some nice features such as being able to store everything we need about a particular employee. Payroll function isn't bad, but it's not user friendly.
Inconvénients
Almost everything. Especially that You cannot build custom reports. If you want a custom report, their implementation team has to do it. It took them almost an entire year to build us a report that pulls in name, title, salary and YTD bonus & commission amounts. I was able to create this for myself in 2 minutes with ADP. ALSO they will not allow you to change a "termination date" for anyone. You have to "rehire" and then term again. This is RIDICULOUS. I could go on for hours about what I don't like. Do not recommend this to anyone.

Total headache
Our organization used excel sheet timesheets that were printed/signed/sent off prior to kronos. Kronos was an upgrade from this outdated process for the sheer fact that it is web-based electronic timekeeping getting the entire complex company into one central timekeeping software. Its been a total headache to implement though, and is not user friendly. As a Supervisor in Kronos responsible for reviewing and approving my team's timecards - it is nice to have it accessible on the app in case I am not in the office when timecards need approval. Other than that though, I would never choose this product if I was in the position to make that call in the future. I am pretty tech savy, but I find this difficult to navigate & that it is even harder for employees that did not grow up on computers. Not a fan.
Avantages
- free app for employees to use on their phones
-web-based
-seeing my team in one spot on my homescreen
Inconvénients
- not user-friendly
-difficult to navigate
- really dislike report section & constantly have to review my notes to get reports to run properly
- many times a punch in/out showed it took on the app, but not on the website

Less than satisfied
We implemented and went live 1/1/2017 with Time and Attendance and Scheduler. The Scheduler had so many features missing on 1/1/17, we had to postpone implementation until the 4/1/17 release date. Every time we ask a functionality question, the answer is "That's a good idea, maybe we can incorporate that in a later release." Not necessarily a good response, when someone is paying you to use software and your question is something you said it could do in the demo. The 3 months worth of credit for our billing I have yet to see applied to our account.
And there are the time clocks, well 5 months in and I am working on getting my third one to see if it will work correctly. First one we bought was compatible with barcodes. We purchased barcodes from a Kronos recommended supplier to fine out they were not compatible with the new clocks. When told we should have sent them in to be tested, I had the response "but we bought them where you told us to buy them." Then, we sent our proximity badges in for evaluation to change from a barcode scanner clock to a proximity badge scanner. Almost a month to get the test results that they worked with the clock, another month to get a correct order form to sign, then 3 weeks to ship to us all to find out Kronos ordered us the incorrect time clock reader. So I am almost 3 months into a process that has been a huge waste of my teams time.
We use a small portion of this product and will think twice before we ever expand it.
Avantages
I like the core of the product line, the Time and Attendance module. It is easy to use and the self service is easy for employees to understand. Our consulting team doing the implementation has been great to work with.
Inconvénients
Customer Service with this product has been huge disappointment. Tech Support has been even worse. And don't plan to get a response on anything unless you contact them with a follow-up.

Works great for some features, terrible for others
Frustration and annoyance
Avantages
I like that many features are together in one "hub." Many of the features are easy to view.
Inconvénients
I really dislike how poorly the "punch" works. The website times out multiple times a day when trying to reach the punch screen. It also sometimes will not record your punch even if did press the button and it says it has recorded it. This is such a hassle and annoyance to me that it trumps the features I actually like about it and I honestly wish my company would use something else.

An Expensive Letdown
Honestly, just go with ADP and pay more. At least they will be able to help you more with compliance. Kronos was such a letdown and the system looks so antiquated.
Avantages
Kronos has some good report features and a lot of the onboarding documentation is easy to collect. You do have the benefit of being with a larger company so they have more customer service people, too, and they have people who specialize in certain areas to give you better help.
Inconvénients
Oh, there are too many to count:
- Their compliance features pale in comparison to ADP. They will say they can comply with all state-mandated sick-leave laws, but it requires so much manual work on the backend that you kind of wish you could just do it elsewhere. A huge pain if you operate in many states.
- Their "customized fields" that they tell you about in an RFP just don't exist. Anything you need done that doesn't fit within their standard guidelines just won't happen.
- If you like reporting on headcount and HR metrics the way that Kronos does it, you're fine. Otherwise you have to attempt to build a report with their service team (which can take weeks) and then export it and then get the data you want. It's just not acceptable given how much you pay for the service.
- Don't get me started on their "documents." If you need to send out a bulk request (i.e. when EEO season rolls around) Kronos can only send out a general reminder to have people check their inbox, and then people have to be smart enough to go in and do it. The reminders for this suck too.

Highly configurable immature Human Capital Management system with poor customer support due to...
Overall the experience has been awful. I came on board after a very bad implementation. The support, training, and responsiveness have been so poor that for the first time in my life, I received a poor annual review. Everything to the way the product was sold (no, you don't need and HRIS person), to sucktastic implementation team, to thousands of settings and a counter-intuitive interface. We can't get rid of Kronos WFR because senior management doesn't choose to believe it's the fault of horrible implementation and support, so we are moving toward the next best thing, move from a direct client to a service that configure the system and runs the back end of payroll.
Avantages
Highly configurable. If we had support and all parts of the configuration reviewed with a fine-tooth comb, it may be possible to even like the system. The ability to have a "living W2" and "living pay statement" is pretty awesome, as are many other features. Too back Kronos does care enough to spend the time to make sure their customers are as success as they are.
Inconvénients
See "Your Review" above. Poor support is the primary problem. Many open tickets for weeks on end. Horrible implementation. We use almost every module...maybe that was the problem. Maybe only time and labor and payroll are truly out of beta.

Not user friendly by any means, even with an all day training course.

Kronos - Behind the times
We were trying to get to one overall platform company-wide. This happened, but at a cost of lost functionality using ADP and a software that is behind the times as far as platform and flexibility.
Avantages
There is really not too much to like compared to ADP.
Inconvénients
This is a flash based, web user login for time tracking. Flash is old, this is a concern for security. The navigation is not intuitive and there are some quirks that are a bit troublesome. The product rounds to the tenth of an hour, so you have to base your clock-ins and outs on 6 minute increments or else you could be shorted or over in your up to minute clock-ins. You cannot edit your own schedule, so your manager has to do it. If you click in early compared to a base schedule you are fine, but if you clock out early due to this schedule it automatically flags it with a giant red exclamation mark. PTO requests are also a bit of a pain because if you take an hour without previously scheduling it, your manager has to do it manually. Requesting ahead of time is also a bit of a pain due to how the calendar shows.

Avantages
I don't have a lot of positives to say about this software.
Inconvénients

Kronos WFR Review
Our overall experience has not been a positive one. Our implementation did not go smoothly and customer service is generally an issue (lack of responsiveness, inability to assist, inefficiency because they don't look at the problem unless you sit on the phone with them).
Avantages
Ability to run reports during payroll processing to review before processing/finalizing.
Inconvénients
It is not intuitive at all; the UI is clunky and it is difficult to find things. The reporting functionality is limited and doesn't allow for effective snapshot reporting and/or pulling data from multiple areas of the system into a single report.

Not a system for a dynamic company with multipul time keepers
The project roll out was rough and left us needing to open countless cases with customer support to resolve the issues. This also caused more problems, however, because customer support seemed new to the system as well and often didn't know how to resolve issues. Or, if they did resolve it, their changes in the system created new problems. We continue to struggle with the system to this day and have essentially given up the hope it will ever work the way we need it to. We are back to tracking accruals and absences in spreadsheets outside of the system as we can't trust the data in Kronos
Avantages
The sales pitch was great in that you can have accruals, absence management, time off request, etc for one price whereas with WFC we had to pay a large amount for each add on
Inconvénients
This system is designed to work in a "perfect world" situation and fails with the intricacy's and shortcomings of manufacturing and multiple time keepers with varying amounts of discipline when it comes to time card management.

Still Not Working Effectively
Many items were never set up completely/correctly. Several items still are not working. Our implementation team was replaced with a new team mid-build. What was supposed to provide efficiency at every level of the organization has become a huge time sucker. After so much time to build, the program is a huge disappointment and frustration.
Avantages
The hope of streamlined HR, Time and Attendance and Payroll. Vacation/sick accruals.
Inconvénients
So many items don't work correctly. Our 'deal breaker' item that we were told the system could do, does not work and the implementation team has disappeared. The software is very 'clunky', there is inconsistency in the way things are done from one item to another. It is obvious the pieces were built by different people and then all put together with no uniformity.

Time off requests are a royal PITA.
They need to hire a decent UI person to revamp the customer experience.
Avantages
It opens on windows. It's capable of double verification using Okta. Not much else I really like about it.
Inconvénients
Scheduling a vacation is so much more complicated than any system I have EVER used. They must have had a moron working on and approving the user interface. It fails to show when and where you have vacation time without some cryptic lookup. Then you end up double booking a vacation because it does not show it. Feels like I'm back in the '90s
Avantages
I use the Kronos time and attendance system at work, and I'm really digging deep here to find something I like about this... The software works and does its job (i.e., keeps track of work/vacation days through my timecard, functions as an online application for applying for vacation days).
Inconvénients
The look-and-feel of the user interface is straight out of the '90s (e.g., information/ data overload on the webpage, tiny buttons, windows that cannot be resized for easy readability).
The information is not updated real-time. If I check my vacation balance right after applying for some vacation and getting an automated approval alert, my balance still shows up as unchanged and the days for which I applied vacation still show up as I'm working.

Nightmare at my company
I will never work for another company that uses Kronos.
Avantages
It helps HR with candidate tracking. From my experience that is all that I see good from this system.
Inconvénients
We use rate tables and now we have to go in and change every single persons rate when we do the annual increase instead of just changing the rate table. Report writing is frustrating. The build was a complete nightmare. It should have been scraped and restarted. We never had an onsite with Kronos prior to Pay Northwest starting the build and the team leader quit mid build. The next team leader tried to tell us what we wanted or needed and didn't listen to our requirements. Still trying to get reports that we need for our reporting requirements. What was supposed to be a great system and a lot of promises that were made by the original sales team we have found to be complete falsehoods. It has created more work for payroll instead of easing the burden. More corrections have had to be made because of building errors and what should have been corrective actions. We never know what we are going to run into when we arrive at work on Monday.

Difficult to work with
It's distinctly negative. It seems only Admins can add buckets to a user, rather than a user adding their own and getting them approved by a manager. Also, there's the aforementioned vacation issue. I've dealt with other time-tracking systems at prior jobs and all of them have been easier to work with.
Avantages
It's very easy to submit time sheets. Also, admins can create rules to auto-submit timesheets after a certain time.
Inconvénients
It is quite difficult to change your time, even to something simple like "Vacation." Perhaps it's a bad deployment, but one would think Vacation would be an available entry that wouldn't throw up error messages.

Terrible siloed approach to implementation
We expected the implementation team to give us good solid guidance, best practices etc. It was very disappointing. The TLM consultant made an error that overpaid employees and cost us thousands of dollars. 3 different HR consultants. No knowledge overlap between the modules. Would get bandied back and forth between TLM and HR consultant, instead of having one solid resource
Avantages

Avantages
The app allows me to view my schedule from my phone which is convenient. It’s nice to be able to view schedules as soon as they are posted even if I’m not working that day.
Inconvénients
The app is not user friendly or streamlined. It’s klunky to set up and log into your employer server and often times out or freezes.
