Review from a Public Accountant
I am a CPA in public accounting who works primarily with construction contractors. I love when my clients use Foundation because it is one of the premiere accounting softwares in the industry and has a CPA module that makes it easy for me to get the reports that I need for an efficient audit/review. I know I can rely on their job costing and WIP modules to help my clients prepare accurate financial statements.

Foundation is Worth it
I learned Foundation on my own with very little training coming into a company after implementation but without any accountant having gone through implementation. I learned Foundation from the one or two training sessions the company had left and the rest was self taught from the user guide and videos. It is a system that makes sense and is easy to use. It is also easily scalable coming from a multi-million dollar company with several thousand employees. Later implemented it for another company on my suggestion and improved my knowledge and our functionality.
Avantages
The price and easy of use. All the other options are more expensive and more complicated for non accountants to use. This system allows for data entry to be uniform across the different modules and maintains the separation of duty and historical records. An entry can't just be deleted and hidden. A journal entry is required. This system offers so much for the money. From Job costing and T&M billing to Equipment and Inventory tracking. It can't be beat on value received for the price and I hope that doesn't change.
Inconvénients
Custom Reporting and templates could be easier. PO approval process is missing from so many of systems out there and would be an added value.

Foundation User
All in all very satisfied and would recommend this to any business.
Avantages
I like the ability to pull & filter reports for job. It really allows you to narrow things down.
Inconvénients
I do not like how there are so many steps and windows to go through to update an AIA pay App.

Agrxis Review on FOUNDATION
I've had a really good overall experience with FOUNDATION. As the proprietor of a legal office, I have discovered this software to be a dependable and all-inclusive option for running my business. My process has been substantially simplified, and my efficiency has grown, thanks to the powerful features and simple interface. For me, it has been a game-changer to be able to manage activities like time tracking, billing, document management, and customer contact on a one platform. The reporting and analytics features of the program have also given me insightful information on the productivity and profitability of my company. Additionally, the customer service staff has always been accommodating and supportive anytime I've had queries or ran into problems.
Avantages
I thought FOUNDATION was a fantastic piece of software for my legal practice. Its extensive feature set that is tailored precisely to the requirements of law practices is one of the characteristics of it that I loved the most. My financial administration duties, such as billing, invoicing, and trust accounting, have been greatly streamlined by FOUNDATION's powerful and user-friendly accounting module. I like how well it synchronizes data and allows for efficient workflows with other crucial systems, such time tracking and case management. My firm's financial status has been made clear to me thanks to the configurable reporting features, which have helped me make wise business decisions.
Inconvénients
Although FOUNDATION has been an amazing software solution for my legal practice generally, there are a few features that I didn't think were as great. The learning curve needed to grasp its advanced functions is among the aspects of it that I liked least. It took me some time and effort to completely comprehend and use the system as a new user.

Plenty to offer but not optimized for practical use.
It is a good construction accounting system with a bunch of good features and modules but dated methods of data entry. some features are really good, but many are duplicated, time consuming and prone to mistakes at times. e.g. Control date in AP module -option to prevent you entering any out-of-date invoices - it doesn't do the job, it lets you post it whenever you like for year 2000, 1930 or 2250 which creates a lot of problems with reports because option to select 2 different dates and control date functionality only controls Invoice date and not Transaction date, which is painful to find and only shows in certain reports and not all. There are other glitches which hinders you do your job accurately and fast. there are examples you may find if you use foundation - e.g. prepaid credit invoice automatically (glitch) selects regular invoice and treating the credit card as checking account. Another one if you are selecting job name and cost code by typing the number, it would keep giving you error to select until it is selected from the drop-down list of Jobs, cost code or cost class and to do that you have to select different item before you select the correct one.Now we just use mostly the base modules AP, AR, Payroll, Job Costing and GL.

It has more modules to offer for construction companies comparatively other accounting software.It gets the job done.
Inconvénients
1. Many modules to offer but many basic features not available. e.g. Payroll module fully functional but no option to print Corrected W2 and when contact support, they say we do not have that functionality and go to IRS website to print one. 2. Many functions on daily basis cancel each other out or overlap. e.g. Equipment module & Payroll module for work orders.3. Permission levels not optimized for security. e.g., Access to Vendors, it is either all information including account deposit or nothing. You can't have two tiers of permissions for employees: it's all or nothing.4. Bid Proposals can't be copied to AIA's.5. Mobile Time App not user friendly at all, full time sync error; on web, 90% of the time you need to clear cache & cookies or use private/incognito mode to use it.6. Training at start is only for basic use and they do not import your previous data, only bring in balances. If you ask later to import, they say it should have been done at the beginning when going live. after you go live, no help or you can use their consulting service to help you which will cost $250 per hour.7. Scheduler - no updates for last 3 plus years. Only available for print option - no export to excel or access in the field.8. Document Imaging - Routing for invoice approval is dated9. No audit log, only shows whoever made the last change on transaction.Actually, the list is endless from last 3 years of use, but it gets the job done with certain limitations.

Horrible IT
IT is unable to trouble shoot issues with freezing and crashes. They take too long to respond. They are unwilling or unable to provide clear solutions. Error messages keep accruing. They blame their customer without providing clear guidance or attempting to upgrade their servers, programming, etc. Their training videos are awful. The software is not data entry friendly--too much mouse work. The AP team is unable to work simultaneously without "server not responding" messages that freeze multiple people. Too much crashing with lost entries & document attachments.
Avantages
Exported reports to Excel are easy to data filter.
Inconvénients
Constant crashes, freezes, and error messages. Unable to select or unselect more data for specified report running. Too much clicking and not enough options to keep hands on keyboard for data entry. Inability to run reports while doing entry with document imaging. Training videos are too long and difficult to find specific information. Examples in training videos sounded like presenter didn't know what they were talking about. Horrific IT assistance. The entry screen cannot be minimized or maximized to assist with reading. The data entry screen is too wide to fit without scrolling. IT doesn't understand how the AP module works because they are unable to classify what the error messages mean and what the specific error or crash issue is with entry.

Foundation
Overall experience was good after initial set up. Once program was learned it was easy to navigate
Avantages
Software was easy to use after initial training. invoice attachments was new to us so that was very helpful.
Inconvénients
The reports had the details of what i needed but when trying to export them they would come out unreadable.

Foundation for Construction Review
Avantages
Foundation was fairly user friendly and had several features that worked well with the construction industry. The payroll module was thorough and easy to use.
Inconvénients
Creating manual entries in the payroll module was tedious and difficult for a company that used a PEO (outsourcing for labor). The taxes had to be hand changed for pennies in order to make the reports balance.

Great solution for our needs
Extremely happy with the product. Very functional and great value for money.
Avantages
The interface is very user friendly and running MS Query through the SQL database allows for many different reports.
Inconvénients
Some standard built in reports in the payroll module are not that comprehensive.
