Love Foundation Soft for the job costing abilities, the PM module is wonderful and of course PR, AR and AP. The way everything works together is perfect.
Avantages
The customer service availability, training and education.
Inconvénients
It can be a bit persnickety when it comes to connectivity. Seems to time out quickly if I am not consistently working in Foundation. That can be annoying.

A+ Customer Service & Product
Customer service is A++++. If I ever have issues or questions, they are there to help and guide me through the problem. I love Foundation and how easy it is to use.
Avantages
Foundation has come a long way since we implemented it many years ago. They are coming out with new and better modules that each company uses already and needs to speak to each other. Having multiple software programs in one place is such a huge help.
Inconvénients
Sales/use tax tracking & the AR side are my least favorite. I think each could be easier to use with more features.

Unhappy with P4C customer service
I hate to let recent events shadow my view of my overall experience ... but unfortunately it has. It will take considerable time for me to rebuild any trust that the people at P4C are even the least bit concerned about their customers. I have always spoke in support of Foundation with our owner, but not sure if that will continue.
Avantages
Over the past 10 years I have had decent confidence in Foundation and P4C to fulfill our needs, and had received good customer service.
Inconvénients
I feel the reporting side of Foundation could be better. The data is all there and it shouldn't be so difficult to get reporting formatted better.

My review of Foundation
All has been good, having to wait for a call back for help and it takes 1 or 2 is the hardest part when you need help now and you have to wait all that time.
Avantages
Processing Payroll, AP, & AR were easy to learn.
Inconvénients
The fact that you have to reverse mistakes and un-post, would be great if it were as easy as Quick Books when making corrections to transactions.

Very happy with Foundation Software
I have been working with accounting software for the past 30 years and Foundation is the best one I've worked with. I wish I had more time to master the date genie reports and other modules though.
Avantages
I love the ease of understanding the different modules and reports. Love that you can create reports to your own specifications.

Avantages
I like that it is compatible with HCSS and everything ties together. I like all the features and the ease of use.
Inconvénients
It is hard to get any assistance. If you call for help, it can take a long time to get a call back for assistance.

Great Company
Pleasant employees and very informative.
Avantages
Return time on calls is mostly quick, within a day or two.
Inconvénients
The pricing could be lower, some of the products for existing customers should be discounted.

Payroll Clerk
Positive. The year end classes are beneficial.
Sometimes the cost, is a hinderance from being more employees on to train.
Avantages
The optional applications that can be purchased.
The prompt response time from the customer service team.
Correspondence with customer service team is always positive and
they are a great educational tool for use of FOUNDATION.
Inconvénients
My biggest dislike with FOUNDATION is that I have found minimal training tools for use of the PAYROLL function.
It takes many, many steps to process a p[ayroll and we, our office, has been working on a how to book for payroll processing.

Great product for construction accounting
Overall Foundation is a great system for construction accounting. They are small enough to care about their clients!
Avantages
Our company has been a Foundation client since 2016, and their customer support is always to notch. They will resolve all questions quickly and efficiently, and if some problems require actual updates to their software, they will put those into development que and make updates to improve their product based on customer feedback! Job costing is key in construction, and with Foundation it is built in once your company is live with Foundation. Foundation also has their payroll service, Payroll4Construction that is directly inside the software, so even complex Union and Certified payroll is simple to do and all Certified payroll reports come out either electronically to upload to various platforms, or on paper to send to entities who request those types of file.
Inconvénients
Not much to dislike. Very robust system.

Avantages
They take on all the liability through hosted.
Inconvénients
Hosted is down once every month or so which obviously impacts business. I've also recommended, for years, that they need to change how change orders work. You would think an approved change order would allow you to adjust your budget within a particular job but not in Foundation. You have return to the original budget and then make the change there. It makes zero sense.

It has been going down way too often with very little explanation. Change order tracking to subcontracts could be better. Would like to be able to attach time sheets for payroll.

It is a little bulky at times to sign in. It would be great if it was more online based.

Great Product
Foundation staff has been extremely helpful with any questions and the software itself has been a breath of fresh air with project recordkeeping and tracking.
Avantages
The accounting and project functionality within Foundation is exceptional and provides the resources needed for a growing construction company. Absolutely love the DataGenie feature and the ability to create reporting features useful to see metrics internally tracked.
Inconvénients
Could use a little more training and guidance on the front end of implementation prior to go live date.

Payroll reports. Can not get daily reports on date payroll is paid. Not a fan of the AP input screen when using tab button it skips several key points and have to mouse it back to enter invoice number

Foundation Program is Good

Solid software, needs to work on stability
In general, it's somewhat simple. Security is good, though if an account is not logged into for 21 days, it is locked. I have some users who use it infrequently, so that's very annoying.
Avantages
Security seems good, processes are well documented. Clients are happy with it.
Inconvénients
Semi-frequent outages (at least 3 in the past few months), which isn't great when a business relies on the software. Also, there are very odd rules about account deactivation.

Feel that there are ways to simplify some of the journal entry processes and invoice entry, reports could be easier to run and create.

Review from a Public Accountant
I am a CPA in public accounting who works primarily with construction contractors. I love when my clients use Foundation because it is one of the premiere accounting softwares in the industry and has a CPA module that makes it easy for me to get the reports that I need for an efficient audit/review. I know I can rely on their job costing and WIP modules to help my clients prepare accurate financial statements.

Accounting, but nothing more
This hasn't been the most fun. The system handles accounting, and after more than 4 years we've dialed some things in better, but it still misses the mark.
The system totally misses the mark when it comes to Project Management. I'd say use another software if at all possible.
Avantages
Foundation electronically routes vendor invoices to appropriate associates to support efficiencies.
The system has the flexibility for you to create your own job numbering system or will generate it for you so you can easily track jobs by numbers.
The system houses all construction project accounting information.
Inconvénients
The system is very much so like Microsoft Access.
You can't search for construction projects by anything other than the job number. If you do, you'll need to create a list or report, export it, then filter it. Then you can go back to Foundation and find it by the job number.
Standard reports don't supply what's needed, so you have to become a master of creating them or pay for Foundation to create them.
Their Project Management Module is horrible.
Their Dispatch Module is acceptable, but quirky.
They constantly charge more for each and every single module that makes the system better. And, each module takes you further away from the original system.
It's strange, to add a new client you enter the client. Then enter the client billing address through a different selection. Then go back to the client record to connect the billing address to the client. Really? This is strange.

I used to LOVE Foundation Customer Support.....Used to!!!!
When I get the help it so helpful but, getting it is the issue.
Avantages
I first began using Foundation in 2015 at a previous company and just loved it. I always got a call right back for customer support. The videos were fantastic, everything I was doing was interesting and with so much ease. When I took over the office for my current company it took over a year for me to finally get my boss agree to the change from Sage to Foundation but, I explained the significant increase in cost was so worth it! I finally got the green light and was sooo excited to have Foundation back! I was mostly excited about the customer service I was going to be receiving!
Inconvénients
Implementation has been AWFUL! Customer service response time has been a NIGHTMARE! Not what I was expecting :-( Initially, the training scheduled was a weekly thing, more often my meetings began to get cancelled. Once I sent an email to a different trainer in my group expressing a little frustration I was never again put on calendar for training. I was not even informed if it was all finalized. No month end close training, no bank rec training and today, (what compelled me to make this review) I put in a service call at 1PM PST, my project in HQ is not in the cloud so I cannot send an RFI with attachments that need to be addressed tomorrow. I am told I am first in que for a call back. Fast forward 3PM PST I follow up. I am told the next available will call me. It is currently 4:41PM PST and I still have not received a call back and I do not even have an account manager I can call to fix the issues since my implementation support has been no help either. Truly Truly disappointed and ashamed that I even suggested this to my owner.

The most user friendly software I've used in the 20 years
Tech support is always there to help and they are extremely knowledgeable in all areas. I usually learn a new feature or shortcut when I call for assistance.
Avantages
This software has many automated features that saves the employee time. In Accounting they have a quick reversal buttons which will auto-generate the reversal of an AP Payment, AP Invoice, Journal Entry and more. Change Orders are directly tied with your billing and will automatically bring you to the AIA screen to update the billing line item. All-in-all it's a system that works with you to easily enter your information and generate a multitude of reports for every department. It is the most user friendly software I've used in the 20 years I've been doing accounting.
Inconvénients
I was disappointed that the Foundation Mobile app didn't have the reporting that our management staff needs to run our jobsites. If they ever add more reporting features, specifically clock in time reporting to that module, I will jump at the chance to switch, as it was a seamless import and saved our payroll dept. hours of review time.
