Great Software

Avantages

Great software and being able to do amazing job costing.

Inconvénients

It is a little bulky at times to sign in. It would be great if it was more online based.

I used to LOVE Foundation Customer Support.....Used to!!!!

When I get the help it so helpful but, getting it is the issue.

Avantages

I first began using Foundation in 2015 at a previous company and just loved it. I always got a call right back for customer support. The videos were fantastic, everything I was doing was interesting and with so much ease. When I took over the office for my current company it took over a year for me to finally get my boss agree to the change from Sage to Foundation but, I explained the significant increase in cost was so worth it! I finally got the green light and was sooo excited to have Foundation back! I was mostly excited about the customer service I was going to be receiving!

Inconvénients

Implementation has been AWFUL! Customer service response time has been a NIGHTMARE! Not what I was expecting :-( Initially, the training scheduled was a weekly thing, more often my meetings began to get cancelled. Once I sent an email to a different trainer in my group expressing a little frustration I was never again put on calendar for training. I was not even informed if it was all finalized. No month end close training, no bank rec training and today, (what compelled me to make this review) I put in a service call at 1PM PST, my project in HQ is not in the cloud so I cannot send an RFI with attachments that need to be addressed tomorrow. I am told I am first in que for a call back. Fast forward 3PM PST I follow up. I am told the next available will call me. It is currently 4:41PM PST and I still have not received a call back and I do not even have an account manager I can call to fix the issues since my implementation support has been no help either. Truly Truly disappointed and ashamed that I even suggested this to my owner.

GREAT TIMESAVER!

We are enjoying the product immensely, but it's not hard coming from doing everything by hand and with QuickBooks.

Avantages

The new accounting system is taking some time to get used to; however, we came over from using QuickBooks Pro Desktop and doing so many calculations by hand. We weren't able to run accurate reports because we were very limited on how job costing worked in QuickBooks. Foundation has completely changed that! We are able to automate so many things such as Job Costing, Material Tracking, Payroll, Invoice approvals for AP, tie our correspondence via e-mail right to a job, and track our equipment all in one place and tie each transaction right to a job, when necessary. We are still very new with the company, but we are looking forward to many years of service with Foundation.

Inconvénients

So far, we haven't found too much that we don't like. The set up is very detailed, but the implementation team is FABULOUS. The biggest thing that we haven't liked, is that our sales person and our account manager are not the same person. We had built a great relationship with our Sales person over the 6 months we were looking for a new ERP. Now, I feel like I have to explain everything about our business all over again, and possibly again once the implementation team is completed.

Highly Dissapointing

Promises promises. Sales people will tell you anything to get you to make the purchase. Then you can expect to be hit whit a lot of "no! the software cannot do that", "you'll have to use a workaround", and "There is no easy way around that". Every transaction takes an additional couple steps in comparison to other accounting software. You cannot write a simple check without entering an invoice or using a part of the system that is full of glitches. The whole system needs a lot of work before the usability is compatible to it's competitors. Reports are difficult to read without knowing the format. Employees are forced to use a login to eaccess system to view paystubs, which costs additional $$. In addition, you cannot offer the employee the option of sending them a paper stub because the format is so messed up a "normal"person cannot read and understand it. The modules do not communicate effectively. As an experienced construction accountant I feel this system is difficult to deal with and disregards many state and federal rules in relation to construction accounting and labor compliance etc. CPR reports are useless. There are no tax reporting forms available, so get ready to go back to manual tax return completion (including 941 and state level payroll forms).

Avantages

Increases job security because there are not many people who already know how to use the system, so once you are that person in your company you are valuable. Custom reporting is nice

Inconvénients

Lack of tax reports and tax information availability for reporting taxes. Difficult processes, too many restrictions where they shouldn't be and not enough where there should. Most of the system is a Con.

Very poor for anything with sales - we have aggregate sales.

Not accommodating - "we don't have that".

Avantages

For my area of use I don't like anything.

Inconvénients

My area deals with aggregate sales and billing for hauling to customers. Not user friendly. Difficult to get our scale system info to import. Invoicing is ridiculous in amount of steps it takes just to enter info.

No after sale support, cloud based servers down often

The pre-sale salesmanship is good enough to convince you that the software and support are worth the cost. Knowing what we know now, we absolutely would not have made the same choice when choosing our new accounting system.

Avantages

The software is relatively easy to use and understand as compared to other accounting systems

Inconvénients

Absolutely abysmal after sale customer support, call-backs after logging a support call occur 2-3 days after the call, support staff are grossly incompetent and have a marginal understanding of the software functions.

Happy new customer!

We are very new to using the software and are still learning, however, we are very happy with all aspects of the software and find it very easy to use and get the help we need when we need it.

SQL Foundations

Avantages

It is dependable. I have worked at many other companies where the system would go down for unknown periods of time. That's not the case with Foundations. I've been working on it for over 2 years and the only conflicts we had was with Windows 10 and a sleep schedule of a monitor causing error boxes to populate as if the system had not been used for an extended period, and it was really easy to fix.
I find the accounting side of the application to be the most user friendly of any program I have used. I like that it imports any file you'd like into CSV so that you can easily create a custom report. I like that they've made it incorporate with the State's requirements for Certified Payroll, while I don't process the payroll myself it saves my colleague many hours of manually entering that data.

Inconvénients

Flexibility. We utilize excel to compensate for what Foundations lacks. For instance tracking projects quantities. The engineer at the company and project manager don't find Foundations user friendly or to be flexible enough to handle evolving projects.

Solid system

Very good cost accounting software. Had multiple modules that cover many facets of the construction industry.

Multiple modules to cover several different construction business'

Inconvénients

Service mobile module is behind. Does not offer all the functionality we are looking for.

I have not been using Foundation for very long but I am very pleased with the product, the...

Overall very happy with my decision to go to Foundation.

Avantages

Much more robust product than what I have been using. The job costing module is very intuitive and seems to have all the reporting options I will need. The implantation process has been smooth and my trainer has been extremely professional and helpful.

Inconvénients

I have only found a few small things that I would change. Would like more contact fields for contacts in the vendor maintenance.

A very satisfied customer

Foundation is an extremely user-friendly Accounting tool. It is obvious to me that all aspects of design, function, and user interface well very very well though out and are being constantly improved based on customer feedback and industry requirements.

Excellent

The software was easy to to follow.Foundation and alot of features that I would be able to use. Customer support was very helpful. I felt I would definitely get my money worth.

Foundation Soft

We are still in the implementation stage of this product use. It's a slow process but for good reason so we can ensure our new software is setup correctly. We are looking forward to getting it live and running.

Avantages

The cloud based option is great. We chose this over the server option.

Construction Software

While the price is a little $$$, the software is definitely worth it! When it comes to software you absolutely get what you pay for! This software took our company to the next level. We grew from a basement office software to an actual company producing legible financial reports. We love FOUNDATION!

Just starting up

New Foundation user - loving it so far

Avantages

We have just started using Foundation and so far I am extremely impressed with their implementation and training staff. They've been fast, friendly and accommodating to all my needs and questions. This product will help our company move to the next level because it will allow us to easily track where our expenses, costs and profits are going. The only reason my rating isn't higher is because I haven't used it long enough to give it a better rating.

Inconvénients

we haven't used this product long enough to have found anything we don't like. It is simple to understand and easy to use.

Foundation delivers!

Avantages

Love how they laid out a step by step plan of the entire process from installation to training to going live. Really liked that they could upload customers, vendors and chart of accounts. In the past, that was done manually. Training sessions were great. Louise explained everything so well, made it very easy to follow and understand. The entire staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Its a very upbeat company. Looking forward to a very long relationship with all of them.

Inconvénients

More short cuts please. Too much tab tab tab or mouse use.

Excellent Software

Easy to learn!

I find it easy to use. It was easy and quick to learn. Reports are helpful - different than I am use to but cleaner.

Avantages

I think the layout of the software is great. Its easy to follow and easy to find functions needed. Easy to learn!

Inconvénients

Foundation doesnt have every report I am use to, but I was using the same software for 10 yrs, I just need to get use to the new reports.

Experience was very bad, and this was a poor decision to convert to it

Avantages

The Reports on foundation, and Dashboard are developed well and provide good financial feedback for managers

Inconvénients

The software is not user friendly. The vendor did not support our transition, and we are changing our software after less than six months of use

I use Foundation to manage my accounts as a demolition contractor.

Avantages

The corporate office is responsive to most inquiries and the product is fairly comprehensive if you are willing to pay for each module individually.

Inconvénients

There are not a lot of resources without additional cost available to customers.

Foundation Software review - small contractor

Avantages

Very good support and training staff but the software is too hard to use. Seems to have alot of functionality, if you can find it.

Inconvénients

User interface is not good at all. Almost like working in a database.
