Ownership is the most important. To develop is like cooking. You know what exactly what kind of ingredient you put into the bowl and that makes it taste so good.
When you know your ingredients, you can explore and test and try until you find something you real love.
When you love it and people love it. Then it will be like a michelin stars.

Inconvénients

Its easy to use when you have learned the basic and then you can start to create useful apps, until then you have to read and look youtube tutorials.
And that its not to hard, you just need to put some effort to it.

Avantages

This online software is way more robust than I imagined. The highlight of using the software is the ability to easily integrate with Google Sheets and many other online data storage software like Dropbox.
I like the preview functionality and the ease of viewing the app on my phone immediately without deploying anything.
I have just been using it a couple of weeks thanks to an online app development course and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get something setup in a matter of minutes. I am a software developer, but anyone who has some online savvy and is good with Excel can pick this up very easily!

Inconvénients

The one widespread con about this software is that there is a "Share" link to share the app that cannot be removed. It is a known issue and although there is a workaround, it is not pretty.

The learning curve has not been steep for engaging with this platform. I loved how it pulls quickly from Google Sheets and updates /syncs data rapidly.

Pages are difficult to really design as the platform is highly reliant on pulling from the spreadsheet. I would like more flexibility in laying out page views and organizing the menu structures.

I love that i was able to build a small app for personal use that pulled data from a couple of my google spreadsheets. There were great features that showed that appsheet designers understand the importance of data integrity and included features and settings that could allow someone who wants to try to build an interface for their spreadsheet. i like that there was some syncing features so that you could edit data even when you did not have mobile reception on your smartphone with the app installed.

Inconvénients

Like anything of this nature it does require to practice and playing to understand the features. To a complete newbie, they may not understand some of the protections you need to build in in order to protect your spreadsheet data especially when multiple users might edit things, but the settings to do so are in the app. It is also a lot simpler than many other no code options and could be a great way for someone to build some personal data tools to make their life easier.

It is very easy to setup and it is very easy to create a small web app.

There is almost no personalization options available on this tool. There is no way to create a minimum of complexity in the app.

The Microsoft was too expansive so I decided to try the Google WorkSpace and AppSheet tools instead, but I quickly returned to the Microsoft 365 tool.

Appsheet has allowed me to replace my high-cost crm with a lower-cost solution that is also quicker to use and customise.

Some more design customisation would be great, Appsheet has allowed me to replace my high-cost crm with a lower-cost solution, but it doesn't look as nice. It would also be useful for there to be more of a streamlined navigation with databases and storage in Google Cloud Platform, given they are both google. A free-tier or low cost SQL database would be a great addition to the product.

Smartsheets pricing is opaque and you can't easily test or estimate the cost of add-ons which are required to reach the same level of functionality as appsheet in terms of no code app development.

Appsheet is a better fit for creating no-code apps for daily business use to replace other siloed business apps. Trying to extend or customise a crm to achieve the same degree of flexibility is time consuming and expensive. The other solutions I considered were more appropriate for using as a database (rather than a no-code layer) or for streamlining single business processes through no-code development, rather than developing a full no-code app.

Avantages

I had the opportunity to participate in a tourism project with a partner dedicated to the systems area and the experience with this complement was very good. I think he made the job easier for us during the development of the mobile app.

Even for non-programmers, it can be easy to use. It is based on "Excel" spreadsheets and the data structure is quite simple.

Some of the things that caught our attention are related to its functionalities: It allows you to establish small workflows, it supports GPS, maps. There is the possibility of activating notifications and as if that were not enough, you can access it without a connection.

Another interesting aspect, which also goes hand in hand with the Digital Transformation process, is storage. You can use any Cloud provider. Which gives it a very high value, at least from my point of view.

Personally I see no negative points, I think it is a tool that gives opportunity to professionals who are not from technical areas to learn and create or work on very interesting projects.

For what is a very complex and powerful product the user interface is intuitive. I'm on a learning curve and regularly break my apps during the development stage, but the UI always tells me why and how to fix it.
We use Smartsheets for business collaboration but it has real limitations when sharing information between multiple teams, and in the area of workflows. Appsheet does add a layer of complexity but enables us to solve these issues.
The mapping functionality is also great and adding images makes for visually appealing apps.

Inconvénients

Not knowing everything about it yet. There is no code to learn as such but a lot of functionality. Once you learn how expressions work you can exert a lot of control over the user experience, and control data entry, and am only just starting to do this.

Avantages

AppSheet performs well and is reasonably quick for our users. I love that we can make the app public so users don't have to sign in. We're using it embedded in a SharePoint site, so the only users who see it are already authenticated.
The app builder starts you out with some reasonably good suggestions for your data, and there are a lots of options for display. In general, the Google Material Design UI is pleasant.

Some column types aren't useful in certain situations. The worst part of AppSheet in our experience, however, has been the need to recreate custom formatting for each column in a table. Since this table has hundreds of columns, we really wish we could copy and past or duplicate styling.

I was up and running in no time! I was looking for a way to track equipment by scanning barcodes on my phone, and AppSheet was super quick to set up!

Inconvénients

After the initial set up, converting the massive amounts of example data to a usable format for my project would have taken more time than it was worth for the scale of my project. For a small but long-term project or small business, it could very well be worth it!

The Utube videos and support offered by AppSheet made it possible to create an App the way I wanted it to run.

My App runs on pre-stored data and once my users have selected the questions, a code was presented and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get this code to just populate it's field. The code had to be selected otherwise it did not save. I still don't know how to get 3 of my codes to save without being clicked.

AppSheet lets you have more control of your data in Google Sheets. If you already know how to use Sheets formulas, AppSheet will be a quick learn. You can easily control who sees what data and do data validation. AppSheet takes care of the UI for you, so no time wasted creating a pretty interface. I really enjoyed this since I do not know UX design.

Inconvénients

The mindset of just working with Sheets and Sheets formulas can be a challenge for someone used to working with traditional developing languages. Trying to determine what my bots were doing was hard at first, though this may just be a mindset shift for me.

Like AppyPie, AppSheet attempts to remove coding from the app development process. I'm not sure this can ever really be achieved. I find the AppSheet apps have a more modern UI than AppyPie and have a better catalogue of example/demo apps.
I believe these tools are best for MVP type applications where you want to quickly deploy an idea however they may never replace coding your own (or having someone code your own) app.

Inconvénients

I find it very hard to tweak the UI enough to really produce an app that isn't instantly recognizable as a WYSIWYG type app. Perhaps that isn't the case for everyday users, but for developers and techie type people, it's easy to spot.

The ease of managing the functionality of your app and the documentation is really helpful. The app community is also a very accessible and convenient platform to discuss and seek guidance

Since there is so much margin to grow on this platform you tend to start feeling a bit restricted with the features available.

It has its limitation right now. I am hoping this is a development problem so that this is something that keeps getting better. For instance I would like to have the gps / map functionality report the schools, churches, malls, restaurants, points of interest such as parks on the map. As a realtor I created a app that shows my team our listings. It would be a wonderful thing if I could also say where are the closest schools. Further I would then like to with the tap of a button send a feature sheet to the buyers email. That allows me to ask for a email.

I most liked that it was easy to use resources we already had in the form of spreadsheets and databases. We didn't have to recreate/reformat anything to create the app.

Inconvénients

I least liked that the chain of command for support is not direct. I had an instance where I wasn't getting a reply and had sent three emails, but no-one new from support would help me because the first guy was handling it. This was time-consuming and inefficient and made me feel as though the whole support team rested on one person. The integration with Airtable is still in it's very early stages so if all your data is in Airtable, I would recommend moving to Google Sheets if your heart is set on Appsheet.
