a once great membership platform that fails to deliver today

Horrible. We have not been able to launch, and despite WildApricot acknowledging the conflicting responses from support reps, they will not schedule a call with a support manager to resolve this.

Avantages

The promises we were told that we could use our existing wordpress website with WA handling events, gating content, etc.

Inconvénients

That the onboarding and support reps do not having training on how to set up WA with an existing wordpress website. We've wasted 2+ months with email and chat loops without answers and with support reps that provide conflicting information

Multiple increases in pricing, but support and development are horrific

Avantages

When we first got the system, it was very comprehensive. We were able to get a trial to set up everything before we went live

Inconvénients

There are two different mail systems/clients. Very fractured. Support is non-existent. There has been zero product improvement, in spite of multiple large price increases.

A Dying Platform - Beware!

WA is a dying platform. Once there was a stream of new features and improvements. Now there is only a stream of price increases. When we adopted WA in 2015, there was a published development roadmap and robust interaction between development team and users. When Personify acquired WA in 2017 that turned around. Development ground to a halt, technical support has been cut back to chat and email during working hours only, and there are significant prices increases every two or three years.

Avantages

Fairly easy to use. It was relatively easy to move over our existing member data base and website.

Inconvénients

Technical support is available only by chat and email, and not nights or weekends. System is inflexible in a number of areas, particularly with event management. Reports are few and not useful. Admin UI clumsy in places. Once we added some event reporting using the API, we were able to make it work for our organization. Polishing in response to user requests would help, but feature development and enhancement are no longer happening.

Wild Apricot is taking ALL the users for a ride- Using EXTORTION! Not happy!

BAD!

Avantages

We are able to use PayPal and Stripe- we had recurring payments set up- easy to use those vendors/

Inconvénients

We are able to use PayPal and Stripe. Now WA want to charge us 20% more a month unless we switch to THEIR preferred vendor. We have auto renew and this will cause us to lose members, and we do not like the format of their vendor. We were given LESS than 60 days notice and basically told " it;s our way or Tuff" Thousand of small non profits are effected. this really stinks.. DON'T USE WA! Terrible customer service

Was great. Now terrible.

Stay away! This company is falling apart. See cons comments.

Avantages

Used to work very well. Lots of features and descent integration. For 2+ years I loved this software. Not anymore.

Inconvénients

After the company was sold and the CEO left the price went up and the quality dropped- a lot! Customer money was being taken and the payment info wasn't propagating through the software. In other words customers were paying and not getting what they paid for. WA tech said the problem was contained to two days only, then to 12 days... here I am a month later and the problem is still occurring! Their best solution was a suggestion to no longer use paypal because their integration with WA was bad. They support paypal integration then say not to use it. Insane. Thousands of dollars wasted and a ton of frustration. I am switching to a word press based platform.

Not for Business to Business based Membership

As WA is so difficult to use, we only use it as a place to store contacts and financial transactions. Getting any more data out of it is more troble than it's worth.

Avantages

It seems like it would work well for organizations where individuals are the members. It was cloud based making it easy to access from anywhere.

Inconvénients

We are a membership organization where businesses are our members. Wild Apricot is set up to support individual membership. Linking individuals to their member companies is a headache and has caused all of our staff to revert back to managing all of our data in spreadsheets. There is little to no support online and it is extreamely difficult to learn to use.

Lack of product development and poor support do not justify multiple price hikes

Wild Apricot has suffered greatly since its purchase by Personify. There have been zero major updates or changes since the purchase. The updates to templates, GUI, and functionality have not come to pass, despite major price hikes. Support has become abysmal. Asking any question or reporting issues is given a rote response.

Avantages

A single system for membership, content management, and event planning

Inconvénients

Email systems between membership and events are inconsistent (two separate systems). Difficult to set up, Zero product improvement or enhancements, poor customer support. Very dated GUI

Worst-performing website, terrible integration, NO customer support

Complete ripoff. Company has no idea what it's doing in website development and membership support. Company refused to issue refund. Representatives lied to me on 3 different occasions that they fixed the website, but they have not.

Avantages

Easy to set up. Ready to launch website in less than a few hours. But that's where it stops. They'll take your money, but there is no technical or customer support.

Inconvénients

Terrible customer support, they have no experience in website design whatsoever. There was a security issue with the website. Rather than refunding the money, they lied to me that they fixed it. Months later, same problem persists.

Poor Customer Service and Support

Significant price increase without offering any new services to justify the offset cost. Penalty fees for using PayPal or other Online payment services. Website templates are old and outdated. Wild Apricot has not modernized its benefits and features, but is competing with other software developer fees but not with complimentary functions.

Avantages

It is a simple platform to work from for a membership platoform.

Inconvénients

No integration with payment processing outside of their own, which significantly reduces our footprint outreach with members. Technical support is delayed and often not addressed. Support is relied on a Facebook forum that other paid members answer advice and suggestions.

Customer Service

Terrible- looking to cancel and request refund for 2 billing periods.

Avantages

Nothing- no pros for me- not user friendly and Customer service is non-existent

Inconvénients

Your customer service is terrible. I have had my wild apricot account for 2 months, have had 3 or 4 calls scheduled, of which 1 time no one called and the other 3 times, there was nothing the rep could really do. it's been 2 months and my site is still not visible and your agents literally do not answer my questions and insist the resolution of my issues will need to be found elsewhere. For example, I now have to contact my current host (or something), which I guess I understand, but what am I paying for??? You guys could internally repair my problems but refuse to do so. I will be sharing my review on every social media platform I can find. That will take me far less time than trying to get your company to host my site.

UI is stuck in the 1980s and customer service is worse

Avantages

Nothing. This is an expensive membership management software and we subscribed to it hoping that we would streamline our member on boarding and management. Initially when we started using Wild Apricot we could use our own PayPal account for billing. Canceled it after getting an email that we would have to pay 20% extra fees of our billing plan to keep using our PayPal account or move to Wild Apricot payment.

Inconvénients

Customer service scheduled a call five days after we initiated the request, then 10 minutes before the call canceled it saying that we would need tech support and should send an email.

This Product is TERRIBLE

Frustrating enough for me to write this review.

Avantages

NO PROS This is a terrible product that has no functionality

Inconvénients

It is extremely difficult to work with, the customer support is sorely lacking and extremely slow and unresponsive.
