I've tried a few SEO tools and Ahrefs is one of my favorites! The site is pretty easy to understand and there are lots of free tools that help me to understand how to improve my SEO ranking. I'd encourage people to use the free trial to check it out.

This tool really helped us improve in terms of ranking on Google. We used to be on the third page and slowly we are heading toward the begining of the second page. (That also depends on Google crawling though). It really does tha job for keywords, for ranking, for relevance.

Inconvénients

It is not for the faint of heart. The UX/UI I find it terrible and all on one page you have to scroll endlessly it feels like. It is so much information at the same time. They should add more tabs, or allow the user to really customize the tool based on their needs. But the end results is great once you know how to use Ahrefs.

From my point of view is the tool that got the biggest development in the SEO market Tool, started with backlinking monitoring to became one of the most useful SEO multitask tool, I must stress the use of the Free App hrefs WEbDEv, perfect complement to your GSC analysis

The price is not suitable for freelance or small business companies, or at least if you don't have a one man SEO user, if it was the case I will go definitely with ahrefs

If you have to look for niche keyword and it is not in english, then ahrefs is the place, it has the databank for my country (South East Asia Region) which is awesome. For other keyword service, sometimes you just stuck with google US or the nearest is India. Ahrefs has very large database (look the "our data page") or ask the customer support is your country supported.

Also there's keyword, backlink etc monitoring send via email.

Other than keyword database, you have organic estimation traffic, which is a hit and miss (for my website, its a miss around 2000 user) but nonetheless it is really really good for competitor analysis.

the backlink analysis also really helpful, which for my case goes back around 2014.

Inconvénients

- Well, i paid like a year for lite edition which is very expensive for me, and it stuck like only 25 website analysis (site explore) per day (which is a bum for when you're in the zone making report), there's other limitation but it still provide a very good macro view. The keyword similarities website also sometimes suggest a very ridiculous website (my site compete with Google & Linkedin , in keyword similarities ??)

However, there's a "free forever" for small/start up businesses and, more importantly, the non-profit organization who are just helping the world; because they need appear in searches to benefit the world and they may be able to afford this software. So, it's made free for them. I like Ahrefs for that kindness to the world!

Being an individual who runs a couple websites for my company, I am not someone who is interested in paying the hundreds of $$/month for access to the unlimited access agency-level tools that many SEO companies offer; however Ahrefs provides numerous tools and services for free - making it the best option for someone like myself who wants to boost their SEO without paying ridiculous amounts of money.

Ahrefs offers a quality overview of your websites SEO & ranking factors, helping you find & address issues - such as 404 errors (due to old bad links), giving a list of external backlinks & referring domains and their domain authority/page authority, and showing lists of top pages & organic keywords - all for free. To top it off, they also send me a free monthly report listing new/lost backlinks and important SEO notices about my account - again, all for free, when competing products lock all these features behind a paywall.

Obviously, the free tier has limits to what you can access, but overall Ahrefs helps me manage my companies SEO without spending thousands of dollars a year on unneeded tools & features.

Inconvénients

Ahrefs can be confusing to learn & use if you are not used to SEO terminology, and they do little to help address this. However this is not a huge issue, as Ahrefs is a professional platform made for SEO experts; so a learning curve for people new to this world is not a huge issue as they are addressing their target audience.

It has huge selection of different filters. it allows me to search for weak sites and/or low difficulty KWs and do reverse engineering.

Sometimes KW difficulty is completely off. Like 0 difficulty when it should be 30+. But these anomalities can be easily spotted (think of too good to be true category).

- Much like other SEO/Marketing tools and software of this quality, the price is relatively expensive. It might be fine on an individual basis, sure. But when you are combining Ahrefs with other software/tools it starts to become an insanely expensive kit.
- It's complex, which could be difficult for some. However, I found that their blog and YouTube content helps pick up the software and quickly become an expert.

It takes a long time to learn how to use it. This isn't entirely the software's fault, it also takes a while to learn what metrics you're even looking for every time you start a new SEO project, but even so, it took a while to learn where everything was, read the feedback, etc.
