Great product a must have for both the machine and the phone.
Avantages
It helped me in managing my time and properly allocating the hours in my day. Rescue time is just so amazing that it showed me where i was spending much of my time on.
Inconvénients
At times it can just record the time like you were on a particular application even though you were not at it.

Great way to make sure you stay on task
Avantages
Just works away in the background no intrusive at all rescue time just tracks what you are spending your time on day by day then sends you a report of how productive you have been.
It's nice to have targets to aim at for your productivity and interesting to see actually how you spend the time on your laptop , with the reports this is pretty easy.
Inconvénients
Sometimes it is easy to forget it there (which is good and bad) and therefore not stop procrastinating until its to late.

Avantages
I love the report that they send me each week, which shows how much time I have been spending on each task. Even better is that it was all set up for me, without me having to input anything extra. I like that it separates tasks into client work, and non-productive time and provide a visual chart graphic to help me really see how I am doing.
Inconvénients
I honestly can't think of anything I don't like! Since social media is both a business task and personal/entertainment it is hard to know 100% on that one category, but I don't think that is a fault of the software.

It is helpful for some insight and for team accountability.

I like how you can use it across devices. It helps to keep track of how I spend my time. My boss and I used it and shared our reports, it worked well.
Inconvénients
As a marketer, spending time on Facebook or Youtube looks like time-wasted, but it is actually often work. I wonder if there is a way to configure it to be more useful to marketers.

While you can generally customize the way different websites/programs are categorized, there isn't a way to do onetime categorization. Which means there isn't a way to differentiate between when you're, for instance, in Facebook for work (productive) versus scrolling endlessly through your timeline (distracting)

Using RescueTime is an Eye-Opening Experience
Avantages
When I first used RescueTime, I thought I knew how I used my time throughout the day. After a few days (and moreso after a few weeks) it was shocking to see just how much time I wasted at work. Did I really need to waste time on Instagram or Facebook? Am I really devoting that many hours to managing emails and my calendar in Outlook? Its best feature overall are the reports you have accessible to view and track your time sinks.
Inconvénients
Maybe this is an impossible task, but it'd be nice if you could block websites contextually. Sure, watching funny cat videos on YouTube is a waste of time, but watching a tutorial on a new piece of software you're using is perfectly legitimate.

Quietly Working in the Background to Keep You on Track
Awesome app especially if you think you might be losing time randomly. It's a good way to show which sites or apps should really be blocked or to show how long you are actually working.
Avantages
It is pretty easy to set up and is unobtrusive. It always works in the background. The reports are sometimes pretty eyeopening especially if you tend to multi-task. Larger reports also can show how those trends change over time.
Inconvénients
I was a bit creeped out about how it looked at every moment spent on each website. That being said, the amount of data it sees really leads to its results. Another thing is that over time, the reports get slower. Sometimes it has to take way too long to process.

RescueTime helped me be more productive by showing me how much time I was using well and how much time I was wasting in a day.
Avantages
The best thing about rescue time is that you don't have to do any manual logging of time or tasks, it's all automatic! This allows you to look back and get an idea of how you spend your time and how you can spend it better. Also in a pinch I've used this data to help fill in when I forget to manual start or stop my time tracking app for billing clients.
Inconvénients
I didn't like that when you want to look at reports of your time you get sent to a dashboard on the web. I would have preferred to have everything happen in the desktop app.

Its amazing that RescueTime is free and it provides a great view of how I spend my time. I don't actively use it, but recommend it to anyone curious in getting more information on their habits.
Avantages
RescueTime is easy to setup and after a brief period provided deep insight on my digital habits. I love that RescueTime categories the different types of software I use by default to measure how productively I am using my time. Every week I can get an overview of how I've spent my time, which helps me make better decisions.
Inconvénients
The value of RescueTime can fall flat after initial experience with it. After I got acquainted with my habits, reports were more discouraging or distracting than insightful.

Inconvénients

The reports show only App and Site details in activity view. I prefer the Timeline view to scroll thru the day to associate activities to my customers projects, but in Timeline view are no details, so it shows for example "Excel" ... but not the Filenames I was working on ( visible in activity view, but there is no time-of-day visible ). I can get details in Timeline view, opening each item one by one... but this is really odd

It gives you a detailed update of the time you spend on not just different websites on the internet but on applications on your computer making and that way you can track exactly how much time you spend working(or not working) on a project and it shows you what could be distracting usage.
Inconvénients
It should have some sort of default profiles you can load for example if you a digital content manager, your initial report will most likely show you as being highly distracted and rate your productivity very low until you change and manually mark whats productive and whats not.

I appreciate that this is one of those "set it and forget it" programs. I forget that it's there and appreciate getting a weekly update that's clear and easy to read.
Inconvénients
It's not 100% accurate in how it categorizes things, but it's pretty close. I would just note that it's easy to forget that sometimes when you're on calls/in meetings, the software has no way of knowing. It's just a good rough estimate, but wouldn't recommend tying specific goals to it.

Don't waste your time
I am glad I installed it, though I am not checking it regularly. But it helped me understand how I spend my time and how to be more productive.
Avantages
I am feeling that the time slips through my fingers and now I know where. This tool helped me monitor how I spend time -- how much time do I actually work and how much I am fooling around.
Inconvénients
Maybe they should improve the categorization and introduce a daily wrap up notification.

Avantages
I love how simple it is to use! It's very intuitive and has pretty rich data if you are curious to dig into how you focus and spend your time. It gave me a lot of information on how often I go back and forth between conversations and it helped me to start blocking my time and conquering the "big rocks" first.
Inconvénients
I wish the data visualization was a little bit more developed. It's pretty basic and just looks so next to other data visualization tools. Purely a design aesthetic thing that I think would improve the perception of this tool!

Innovative way to understand personal productivity
It was pleasant and progressive. There's definitely a lot of learning to be derived which lasts beyond the use of the tool.

It's a good learning tool where I can gauge how my time has been applied and figure out how I can streamline my not-so-productive activities.
Inconvénients
There's not much wrong with this. However, it should be taken as a suggestive tool and not as a deciding tool. The results shouldn't be taken out of context. They should be just used for self-reflection and improvement.

Helpful for time tracking
Signed up, set up my tracking settings (e.g. what counts as productive v. unproductive time; work hours; etc). And from there, I don't have to do anything. It tracks my productivity whenever I'm logged into my computer during the hours I set and then provides me with weekly productivity updates, broken down by category. It's easy as pie.
Avantages
Works in the background without me having to think about it. Provides updates on how I've used my time.
Inconvénients
I don't have any complaints about this software so far. Works very well and I can't think of any cons to mention.

RescueTime helps you keep track of your browsing and the windows you're working on, therefore helping you with time management by creating tabs of time wasted, or tabs for productivity and it presents you with addressable actions. If you get the paid version and want the xtra help to refrain from distractions, in the paid version you can actually block websites that distract you.
Inconvénients
Occasionally RescueTime would misqualify sites I visit, but the incidence lowers the more frequent I visit them.

Very accurately tracks your time with each program and website. Then it categorizes it by productivity, and usually gets it in the right category. But you can easily edit it when it guesses wrong. And somethings it cannot categorize, such as IP numbers (accessing admin servers, etc, by their ip address).
Inconvénients
Interfaces could be improved.
It would be nice if the productivity stats could be shown in a basic GUI on the PC. But I don't mean an embedded browser type of thing to install to view the dashboard in its own window instead of the browser---like so many programs are nowadays.

Keep an eye on wasteful time with weekly reporting
Avantages
I first installed this to keep track of my own time so I could understand what I was spending most of my time on and see if I needed to outsource time consuming tasks so I could focus on more important areas. Later it was useful to install it on our apprentice's PC and make him pay attention to where he should be focusing his work. For free, this tool is indispensable.

I was spending too much time on useless software and apps and I had to track the time I spent on them. It did work in order to increase my productivity !

Tracks time both in apps and on sites, able to set timers, strong reporting capabilities and easy to customize.
Inconvénients
Not accurate with iphone usage and can skew results. Seems like the more time you use it the more it learns your habits and becomes more accurate. Not all of the reporting is available with the free version but the premium version is not a justifiable expense.

Get rid of distractions.
Avantages
I use it to get my weekly productivity score and stay on track. It works like a conscience, an inner feeling that you should not waste your time and procrastinate but get your job done. I use other app as a timesheet replacement, but this one helps me to see in details towards what did my time go. The Light version is free forever.
Inconvénients
The interface is not what I would have expected. At the beginning its quite challenging to set up everything on-line. I believe that some ready templates could help to lift off. I believe that premium version is required if you get serious about improving your productivity.

Its automated certain features aren't that good. And it seems to be really inconsistent about when it emails you your daily productivity report.

Super valuable software to reclaim your time
Avantages
It has made my time on the computer totally transparent. As a goals driven person, seeing how productive I am and how much unproductive time there is makes a massive difference to how much I get done each day.
Inconvénients
Its a shame that the IOS app is not currently functional however this is Apples doing I believe. Otherwise the freemium gives you plenty of reasons to use this app every day

Productivity Tracker
RescueTime is great for productivity tracking and it is very accurate as well
Avantages
I like that this app can record all the apps I use and plot a graph showing this usage. It can track usage across all platforms and give a consolidated usage graph.
Inconvénients
I think this app is great. I have nothing against it and I did not experience any bugs during the time I tried it out.

I love that this app works on both windows and android giving you a full picture of how you spend your time.
Inconvénients
Nothing. Rescue Time is a great application that works as it should. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get insight on how they spend their time on digital platforms
