Good user interface; very clear and also enables quick a lot of user adjustment. Flexibility, ease of use and depth of project customization. Design in 2 and 3 dimensions simultaneously. Import and export projects with AutoCad, etc.

Inconvénients

Too many object settings for each object makes learning curve quite steep. Not intuitive enough for quick design experimentation (a la Sketchup). Opening up files take a long time depending on your CPU.

I really appreciate how easy it makes BIM modeling. I was unsure about BIM modeling but ArchiCAD hooked me.

Inconvénients

Unfortunately, it took me some time to learn how to use ArchiCAD fluently. This may be due to my lack of experience in BIM modeling prior to using ArchiCAD though.

I find the software easy to learn, there are limitless objects or families, supports most cad softwares, it even supports objects from other cads (love this feature). It has a really good and easy 3d navigation system.

Inconvénients

The profiles are not so easy to understand how to edit as a beginner but the more you learn about the software the better you get. There is no temporary dimensioning feature.

A reasonably priced software which works like a charm in the light of its low price. The 3D modeling is a breeze. The software is easy to learn and use. Even nonprofessionals can do amazing work on the software. Unlike other software in this category, it allows for complete ownership instead of renting.

Rendering is slower on large files though with a computer with high end specks this is a non-issue.

The versatility and capabilities are great because of the many 3d options to see plans, sections, elevations, etc.

We starting using ArchiCAD to compare the feature set to other CADD software packages on the market. The value for money of ArchiCAD can't be beat and it has all of the drafting features a person could want.

Exporting to other drafting programs has some interesting quirks, though this could just as easily be blamed on the other programs.

I like the ease of use, the library with a plethora of kitchens, doors and many many more already pre-made and customisable objects that are ready for use, the ability to collaborate with other engineer via internet on the same file and the ability to design your own customisable objects.

The cost is big for self-employed engineers. It's also a little bit confusing the whole procedure if you'd like to give the file to another user.

I love the simplicity with which I can design a house in minutes with the minimum of 3D modeling knowledge.

Rendering quality need some improvements, and heavy scenes lead always to crashes and makes us lose a lot of time.

Not a bad interface, and it is very fast and easy to use after you learn the ins and outs of the program. IFC support is good as you can export and import to many other CAD softwares.

The learning curve is steep, and some of the program seems a little outdated. The fact that you cannot have multiple viewports was very frustrating to me.

The main thing that I like the best with this software, is that the GUI is extremely user friendly and very easy to grasp. I was able to know how to get around this software within minutes of using it. I love visualization enhancement is the new 3D Surface Painter that enables users to apply different materials in a timely manner to model surfaces using drag-and-drop.

Most functions just seem old and out dated. The developers need to work on this. No spelling of the shortcut functions and no simple way of controlling building part types and other automation features you might find elsewhere.

Great program, the initial capabilities of this software allow you to create anything you need for your project including structure and facade. Juvenile looks but really performs great, comparative to all other modeling programs.

The Advance Designing Workflows and Detailing tools is the very very useful. The Interface of Archicad is something i always love. It gives you a true feeling of working on a very innovative software.
