Once set up it was easy to use. The workflows are set up very well that the documents always route correctly.

Everything is in one place. MasterControl eliminated the routing of paper and in doing so eliminated the risk of something getting lost. There is less of a holdup on approvals with the convivence of everything being online and in one area.

Has a bit of a learning curve especially for the users who do not use it daily.

The integration with business processes is worth every penny. Plus this company listens to their users. They are all about the customer voice.

The ease of setting up training for documentation and separate training courses is invaluable. Instead of a bloated shared file system, all training is housed in folders and compliance reports are easy to build.

I didn't find much use for Insights, as for some reason it didn't work well for us.

Some areas of interest take many clicks to get to the page. A shortcut for favorite pages would be great. Some of the boxes are too small (tracking report details, curriculum for trainee infocard)

The strength of MasterControl is that it is easy to configure. For documents and training someone new to MasterControl can take the free online training and be at a module admin level in 2-3 months. For the most part changes do not need to be validated because the configurations are so limited that the OQ/PQ can justify functions.

Inconvénients

The weakness in MasterControl is that the configurations are so limited. There are often times when you expect the system to be able to do something only to find out that it is not fully capable of what you expected. And example would be setting up prerequisite courses. This would be a great feature for creating an entire curriculum. But a course can only have 1 prerequisite, when you might have expected to be able to assign multiple prerequisites. Since this feature/configuration is so simple the admins end up having to play a greater role in assigning training, because the system can't be configured in a complex fashion. While about 80% of the configuration make sense, the other 20% does not. Some features and configurations are just not intuitive.

I like the scalability, ease of use, and integration potential the most.

Can be difficult during configuration as there are many options, but there are things that cannot be done.

Avantages

It's definitely a great quality compliance QMS that helps to control the quality. Everything has a record and cannot be simply removed or revised without a reason or explanation which makes it easy for auditing purposes.

Inconvénients

Ease of use. I think this is the downfall of MasterControl Quality Excellence. The system itself is not intuitive and sleek. It's definitely a system designed based or how an engineer thinks but not so much of a normal everyday user will be using. User Experience (UX) is extremely important as more people are using digital applications and platforms.

Being able to create form and design the workflow to reflect the real process is such useful tool and help QA and RA departments a lot in my company. Also great job in the annual upgrade! The updates in each year make the Mastercontrol easier for users to use and be able to do more functions in a better way
