It's great if you are just getting started!
It's great for ancillary items, but once you grow past a certain point, it's difficult to recommend.
Avantages
It's the cheapest option that requires the least amount of setup. You can be up and running in a matter of minutes.
Inconvénients
There aren't any advanced features, so you can't set business hours or after hours so the system behaves differently under different conditions.

Anonymously call families
Avantages
I like that you can use Google Voice from your personal cell phone and call families from Google Voice.
Inconvénients
There is not anything that I do not like about this product.

Best Voip option
Avantages
It's free and it works. I've tried paid versions and they don't work as well.
Inconvénients
I would like to have more features so that it works just like my regular number for texting etc

Google voice for Teachers
I use google voice to communicate with teachers. I also send text messages if I’m unable to speak verbally
Avantages
It is a good way for teachers to communicate with teachers to communicate with parents without sharing their personal phone number .
Inconvénients
I wish there was a way to make a phone call with google voice on a cell phone without having to go through the app

A must for teachers
I have used this since 2020 when I was contacting parents more frequently. I always use Google Voice as my work number for parents to contact me on. I do not have to give out a personal number and it helps to create more professional boundaries. It’s also so easy to be able to use my phone to call rather than use a school landline .
Avantages
I can contact student parents via text or voice without using my personal number.
Inconvénients
The fact that it uses a different number to call out can be confusing, but you just have to realize it and get used to it.

Easy Communication
Avantages
I don't have to give my personal phone number out to clients for them to be able to contact me.

Google Voice Review
I don't feel I use it as much as I am no longer working from home, but over all what I have been using it for has been good.
Avantages
I use it mostly on my personal device for texting and phone calls. During pandemic I used it for online meetings when working from hjome.
Inconvénients
At times I find that it does not transcribe voice to text correctly.

Avantages
I really like that I can call clients with a phone number different than my work extension as I am not always calling from work.
Inconvénients
I do not like that I have to pay for it, but it is worth the money.

Just another online meeting tool
Overall average experience. There are other alternatives as well especially for organizational level online meetings.
Avantages
It can be used easily on your phone. Email integration with Gmail account makes the account set up and management easy.

I have no issues so far with this tool.

Google Voice is easy to set-up and a great way to make sure I can communicate with my students and parents without them having my personal information. I can also turn it off anytime!

Alright Service
I have utilized Google Voice in the past and It served as a perfect solution for business purposes. Overall I had a pleasant experience with Google Voice

It properly identifies the identity of the caller which has made it easier to avoid scam calls during business hours
Inconvénients
Google Voice only operates for users within the United States and is not available for international countries.

Willing Partner in the Google Suite
Overall, I've had a very good experience with Google Voice. I prefer to use it instead of a messaging app like many others use in a group setting such as Remind, Group Me, etc. It makes my job/life much easier to have such functions.
Avantages
For one, ease of use. If you know how to text or use a phone, then you can use this app. I use this app to contact parents. I am a case manager for students with mild to moderate disabilities and one form of communication that I rely on is the SMS function of the Google Voice app. I use it to contact parents in lieu of providing my personal number. Of course, it must be tied to a Google account. One feature that I particularly like is that since it is tied to a Google account, it allows you to respond to a message within a mail function (Gmail) so I don't always need to text on my phone. This makes communication much easier (and quicker). Also, you can launch a Google Meet and it works smartly with integration, again, making easy communication the primary feature.
Inconvénients
Even with its ease of use, there are some drawbacks. For one, it's fairly limited. It is not a robust platform. This limitation makes sense since it works across different providers, phones, platforms, etc. But it is still pretty bare bones. It is difficult to shrink the message box when typing which gets annoying if working primarily on a phone. Also if your messages are too long, it does clip them. So that is something to be aware of.

Amazing Google Voice
My overall experience is that it is amazingly helpful and useful. I can contact my love ones even if I don't have load in my prepaid card. It is really amazing.
Avantages
I like most about this software is that it is user friendly and easy to use. Aside from this, it allows me to text and call in unlimited way and it is easy to set up account. There is also voice mail transcription which I like the most. Also the call forwarding is reliable.
Inconvénients
Some of the cons of this software is that there is no toll free numbers from the callers and no built in for team messaging but over all the software is amazingly helpful and useful especially when you don't have enough balance for your prepaid card.

Easy to use and access
I have loved being able to use Google Voice. It keeps my cell phone number anonymous and still comes to my phone like a normal text or phone call!
Avantages
I love that I am able to use my personal cell phone to do work-related things. Parents and students don't have my personal cell phone number but are still able to get ahold of me in easy ways. I am able to set times for the alerts to not go off. If I decide at any time that I don't want the number I can delete it and don't have to worry about blocking anyone. I don't have to have a second phone for work either.
Inconvénients
I don't think there is anything I would change about Google Voice.

Google Voice, the Preferred Communication Tool
Google Voice has streamlined my communications. I hear back from contacts much more quickly with Google Voice than email or phone calls.
Avantages
I am a teacher. Parents, colleagues, and administrators all prefer Google Voice for stress-free communications. Google Voice sends my messages straight to the recipient's phone. They can respond as if a text arrived. Their responses appear not only in my Google Voice account but also in my Gmail. I can even share my number with students without giving them any personal information.
Inconvénients
It is a bit cumbersome to create a contact within Google Voice, but I'm spoiled, I'm sure. It takes a minute or less.

I like the fact that you can store contacts to your google account associated with the Google voice number. This is a great tool for teachers to keep from looking up a number every time you make a call
Avantages
It allows me to communicate with my students' parents without giving them my personal phone number.
Inconvénients
The software doesn't always work from a laptop. I can use my computer to make a call but it gets forwarded to my phone.

Great and similar to Alexa
Google Voice also integrates with other apps and works well to perform voice commands on those apps.
Avantages
Google Voice works well to search directions, google a question, or place an order. It makes searching a destination while driving easier as well.
Inconvénients
Sometimes, the software does not pick up what I am saying or interprets it wrong, so I have to repeat it or manually type it out.

I use Voice on a personal basis and can't go without it
Avantages
Prior to having Voice, I would give out my personal cell # but with its incorporation of a Google Voice phone # I can just give this number out. Voice allows a better way to control incoming calls versus my phone carrier.
Inconvénients
The setup isn't the most easily understood process. I've had issues getting things working the way I wanted for voicemail for instance.

Google Voice in K-12
Google Voice was extremely useful during eLearning last year and virtual/hybrid teaching this year. We had administrators, office staff, guidance counselors, and teachers using Google Voice to continue to reach out and connect with families and students who were learning from home.
Avantages
As an Instructional Technologist, I am always looking for tools that will support my K-12 teachers. Many of my secondary teachers use Google Voice as a way to text and call students and parents. They have had better communication and an increase in responses by using Google Voice instead of using email.
Inconvénients
Last year Google Voice starting charging the districts per user when signing up with their district email. Our district will not pay for this feature so teachers are having to use their personal email accounts.

Google Voice - privacy and connectivity
When I began as a virtual teacher, many years ago, it was suggested that I use Google Voice versus sharing my private number with parents and students. I appreciate that I can protect my privacy while at the same time giving my students and their families the sense that they can contact me in a more personal way via text (primarily) when it's convenient for them to do so.
Avantages
I love this using this software helps me to stay connected but also protects my privacy. I also like that I can use it across devices.
Inconvénients
I do not use it as regularly as I have in the past but as of now, I can't think of any cons to using this software.
