I have been a user of AVG for many many years. Installation is fast and easy. I have used other types of internet security and AVG is by far the best in my opinion. AVG does all my scans automatically and lets me know of any potential threats immediately. Its a great software to have.

Inconvénients

I don't have any cons when it comes to AVG. I was pleasantly surprised at the functions of this software.

Avantages

This program has a Free version available for trying and install and instructions are very easy to work with.

Inconvénients

Does remove issues that are already on your system before installing.Seems to take several scans to really get the job done.

Installs as a third party plugin directly to my Outlook program and web browsers. This provides an added layer of protection by scanning all incoming and outgoing emails, as well as actively protecting my internet traffic.

It slows down Outlook when first starting up, to where Outlook is constantly asking me if I want to disable to plug-in to speed up the program start-up.

It blocks internet threats like a malicious website. It updates frequently and from time to time it asks me to check all my files to search for viruses.

Although the software is great, it always shows popups trying to cross-sell other AVG products like VPN and PC cleaners - this can be very annoying.

You don't need this software, but it is better than McAfee, Norton, or Kapersky. This might protect your PC from some outdated viruses, sometimes.

AVG won't protect you from the most cutting-edge threats, and will slow down your PC's performance. If this program is active on your PC and you're complaining about how slow your system is...Well, uninstalling AVG is probably just the first step you need to take.

It has multiple levels of subscription for varying usage. It does everything it needs to and keeps itself updated against the latest threats, better than the built-in virus protection that most computers. It notifies of threats and isolates them even before you know what might be wrong.

Inconvénients

It is very little except the incessant need to notify you don't have all the features under your sub. If you don't have everything it notifies you constantly, which is fine, but I don't need VPN options so I don't need to know about it every other day or every 5 minutes.

Avantages

For me AVG is one of the easiest to manage security softwares on the market. Its updates doesnt disturb that much the use of the device and it does a good job keeping them virus and malware free.

Inconvénients

Nevertheless, sometimes we've had problems with a few files and links that were infected and got through the software security.

It works as described. It has all the bells and whistles of all the other internet protection.

Too many instances where the software would make decisions on what to block. Because an IT nightmare as our IT team had to basically go back to 100+ computers to adjust. Because of this we moved to Avast for Business.

Very excellent in removing viruses and malwares.

It sometimes failed to immediately detect malwares. Also sometimes is detects some false positive software's even though I added it to the exceptions.

I have been using the free version of AVG for some time now and, unlike some other antivirus software, it still has the browser plugin and the web and email shields, which is what I like the most about AVG as it provides a safe and secure browsing and emailing experience at all times.

I wish the program automatically gave the option to go through all the settings during the first use. I think this does not apply only to AVG but all the antivirus and similar software out there.
