Déplorable
Facile mais suivi produit et assistance nulle, prix prohibitif et à la limite du chantage commercial pour certaines de leur pratique, à fuir de toutes urgences, pour le marché Belge, il existe des alternatives intéressantes.

Facile d’utilisation et rapide, c’est tout mzis il existe mieux sur le marché.

Primo une semaine après plusieurs sollicitations de ma part en vocale et par courriel pour répondre à une question basique, vous vous appelez Lightspeed !
Votre chantage sur les augmentations de prix de vos abonnements est scandaleux et totalement injustifié.
Vos tarifs sur votre terminal de payement sont déments aux vues des conditions du marché des payements par carte.
Je n'espère pas de réponse de votre part avant 5 ou 6 jours ouvrable si du moins vous pouvez m'opposer un argumentaire valable.
N’oubliez pas que les paroles s’envolent et que les écrits restent !
Dois-je confirmer mon désir de résilier par un autre moyen que cet échange de courrier ?
C’est bien noté et la facture sera acquitté comme il se doit.

Quand le logiciel fonctionne et qu'on n'a pas besoin du service support, alors il convient très bien à une utilisation classique pour un restaurant
Inconvénients
Le service support est très mauvais : entre 30 et 45 minutes pour avoir quelqu'un au téléphone, et des informations contradictoires sont données. Impossible d'avoir le numéro direct de quelqu'un.Le service commercial est également très mauvais : j'ai dû changer de logiciel à cause de multiples problèmes techniques que Lightspeed n'a jamais été capable de me régler, et impossible d'obtenir la moindre remise sur l'abonnement annuel que j'avais déjà payé et que je n'allais donc pas utiliser.

A Disappointing Experience Beware!
Its like the DMV and TSA started a POS company

I wanted to share my recent experience with Lightspeed POS and their customer support
Inconvénients
Nothing but a nightmare since we signed the contract. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Haven’t even been able to get the POS up and running. Support is no help, and our onboarding person is non communitive. Less than a month in and we have no working POS systems. When I reached out to cancel my contract they threatened me with a $4k fine for breaking contract.

Worse customer service
Absolutely awful
In my 20 years in business, I have never met a worse company

I am a credit card processor that recommended Lightspeed to my clients
None of my clients are able to get custom service
It’s so bad that I personally been trying to email light speed and call for the last 5 days
The only response I got is “how can we help”
Once I wrote what I needed , no one ever got back to me
I’m going to recommend to all my clients to leave lighspeed
I’m even going to buy them new pos systems just not to deal with lighspeed anymore
Non of my retail or restaurants were able to get customer service
I’m writing this review to help other in their pos decision
Please save yourself a lot of headache and not to use this POS system
I have nothing to gain by telling you this

5 1/2 years of disappointment
For over a year I have had issues with Tip Adjustments applying to checks. Procedure is followed to the letter and the adjustments just " fall off " and some just never get charged to the customer. In short, this means the employees get their tips, the customers believe they left a tip but were not charged and the money is for lack of a better term MISSING at the end of the day for the business. HOURS have been spent trying to work with this company on this issues and the level of customer service is so sub par I was JUST told " I know you'd like a call back but we'd prefer EMAIL and will not be calling regardless of you asking for a call back. I am not a litigious person but this time around I think I am going to turn the 5 years of receipts over to my attorney and sue the pants off these clowns.

Excellent software for growing businesses.
Overall the software is amazing and the good outweighs the bad and a tested about 10 different PoS softwares when I was shopping around and none of them encompass everything I have mentioned so i know my expectations are very high....which is why I state again...if they added in these features it would make them industry leaders and really a phenomenal PoS system. (its 90% of the way there for me...just a few more features and if would be the best)
Avantages
The integration with xero accounting has been a true time saver for my business. It transfers all sales data at the end of the day seamlessly so I don't have to. The ability to use the front end off site has been super helpful as well as it doesn't tie me down to the store and I can do a lot of my work on the go. Creating products, invoicing clients, setting up the main screen custom to what I want is extremely simple once you run through it once.
Inconvénients
Theres a few simple features that are missing from the PoS software which I would like to see integrated and would make it hands down the best in the industry for small businesses.
1) Getting an integrated payment terminal that accepts chip, pay pass and swipe options would avoid any mistakes between manually punching in the amounts on the debit/credit machine and would avoid any back end work after the day closes to be able to balance the day
2) Allowing me to enter the details of the invoices (supplier name, invoice number, total amount being paid, gst, pst, etc.) that are being paid out on a daily basis and having that information transferred to xero would alleviate tons of paper work after the close of the day.
3) There is no way to pull out a month end statement for corporate clients that pay their account once a month. Checks have to be cross referenced manually with the bills that have been put on tab. You should be able to at the very least select which tab invoices are being paid from the list of invoices on the clients account. This would show which ones are outstanding at a glance rather than having to refer back to the paper invoices that the system creates.
4) A front facing screen to display pricing of items being charged, advertisements, and other information is something I have been asking for since day 1 (3 years now). And I would love to see this feature incorporated.
5) Having the ability to offer a discount for a bulk purchase is something that should be automatic.

Lightspeed ROCKS!!!
AMAZING
Avantages
We operate 4 Cannonball Cafés in Jamaica. This is our second year of using Lightspeed. When we bought the business in 2016, we installed another company's system which, after a few months use, revealed it's weakness for use in a multi-unit business.
We plodded along for awhile under the "Better to stay with the Devil you know..." philosophy until a sharp eyed customer got very upset because she noticed the price of one of our specialty coffees at one location was vastly different from another location... we had made a late night keystroke mistake entering the updated prices!
What caught our eye with Lightspeed was the powerful Back-of-House infrastructure that allows us to make REMOTE CHANGES to our menus, our controls etc IN AN INSTANT on our phones, tablets or computers: last year on a trip to China, we got a text from one of our managers requesting a menu addition - somewhere over the Pacific at 40,000 feet, my wife added the item and went back to sleep!!!! The level of detail that supports our business goes far beyond what we could imagine - while a lot of detail & thought has to go into setting up Lightspeed initially, that effort pays dividends when using the system.
Finally, the support we get from the Technical Support team is amazing - the Techs are all very well trained, are extremely knowledgeable and can resolve problems that are outside their Lightspeed purview: in September, a store was having a weird connectivity problem that was traced by [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] in Te

We had purchased the system for 3 of our establishments, and only installed it in 1 of them as a trial. Because of how bad it was, we decided to cancel our service. Even though we had not installed the other 2 locations and had used the product for 3 month in the one installed, they are forcing us to abide by our 3 year contract and pay the full amounts.
Even with having to cover that cost, which is completely unreasonable because 2 of the services were not installed, it is still much better and efficient for us to switch to another more functional service such as Cluster or Maitre-D.
I would not recommend this to anyone who has a restaurant.

Lightspeed has been a horror for us since the start. What we were presented at during the sales meeting made us very excited and happy, but the second the contract was signed, for our 3 locations everything went down hill. I had to pull teeth and send multiple messages and to get our installation done on time. And even at that they finished doing it opening day, and were debugging while we had to serve clients. And that is a whole other story.
The product itself looks good but really does not work for a restaurant. Little things like having a single client pay without closing the full table is not possible. Servers need to figure out all these ways/trick to speed up service without being slowed down by Lightspeed. Items cannot be sent to multiple locations at ones (if something come from both the kitchen and bar like a Caeser with bacon)
The reports are terrible. Items are split up in ways were the they are split if clients have payed 1/2 or 1/3 of the amount. So items like Natchos that are group type items, to no how many have been sold you need to add the full one, the 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/6, .... amounts. So extracting any information takes a long time. Many of the reports have numerical errors in them, and as such they cannot be trusted. Also, tyring to export hourly sales or receipts all have wrong times on them (our restaurant closes at 1am, yet it still show receipts until 5am)
It is not possible to use the inventory option in bar because they can only have units, it

Still love it after 15 months
While there are pros and cons, the pros far outweigh the cons. It's easy to use, intuitive, and best of all, THEY LISTEN. It doesn't take 10,000 customers complaining to get Lightspeed to make a change. Their support is excellent.
Avantages
Onboarding and setup was a breeze - After signing on, we were tasked with a tutorial and onboarding process which, at times, was drawn out, but VERY helpful. It was a great learning tool and incredibly useful. They offered additional resources, but given my stubborn nature I set out on my own. The onboarding process was fairly easy. Painstaking, but simple. There were a few tasks that more difficult than necessary though. Like building the floor plan. I am very meticulous and there were not many options for the design, but I was able to figure it out with assistance from the help desk.
Very customizable layout and very versatile - The overall operation of the system is very easy, but not basic. Ease of use is key to me, especially when training new employees or adding/changing features. Need a new menu item on a certain screen? 30 seconds. Need to reorganize the layout? Just drag and drop. Color code menu items? Sure why not. We change our menu daily/weekly, so this was an important feature to me and my FOH manager. GThe back end and reporting is excellent as well. I was able to show the owner how to access the dashboard and view sales and sales vs goals. I can see how many of (X) item I sold when I ran it as a special, or how much of a certain item I sell week to week. We use it as our time clock, and even my BOH with ZERO knowledge of the system figured it out in seconds.

The only major complaint I have is that there aren't enough credit card processors integrated in to the system, which is crucial to me.

This company is all about sales and has no interest in fairness or retaining customers.
I run a tiny seasonal business for which this system was intended. If someone is unhappy with my service, refunding their money is not always my first approach, but if I know that I've fallen short on service, I absolutely look for a fair solution. I was fine with keeping the hardware originally sent to me and even paying for the time lapse on the software, but to say that all software sales are final when they are the one that set the contract lengths to being with is just shady and downright distasteful. It's not like they put money into developing software just for my company. In fact, any time I tried to get support to help tweak things, their support team seemed more annoyed than willing to help. Stay away from these guys.

I barely used this product. What sold me on it initially were the demos in being able to have a simple interface for my employees on both the retail and restaurant side and a much more detailed backend than square that supposedly integrates nicely with Quickbooks.

I was very specific about my operating needs. I am also very busy with small children and multiple businesses. The onboarding was described as very simple, and it was not. I needed three systems, and was told that was what I was paying for. They shot me an invoice which I did not read thoroughly enough. They put in fine print on the invoice that the invoice and payment is acceptance or their sales terms which you have to then go to their website to read. Once I asked for the hardware items that they did not send me, they also charged me for a bunch of extra software that were not part of the original sales discussion or even the second sales discussion. They never refunded me for two years of unused software when I decided that I was not interested in doing business with such a shady company. No class.

Very Disappointing on Many Levels, Mainly After Sales Services and Tech Support
We moved forward with lightspeed on high hopes, unfortunately it was a bad experience overall starting with the very beginning. We got shut down during covid before we even started the operation or set up of the system yet the subscription wasn't put on hold and we were advised that this cannot be changed, which is ok as long as we get the service we were promised.
Once we started our operation, the problems started, we don't get any support form the tech team.
We book a meeting to discuss integration, and instead we get a sales pitch to add more modules.
We book a meeting for support, and no one shown up from Lightspeed.
We book a meeting to obtain support, and we get sent a video instead lol.
When we contact our first contact from Lightspeed Sales team, we never get a response back...
Seriously, you need to reevaluate your service levels and very fast because from the reviews and I wish I had checked the reviews first, Lightspeed in my experience is a major let down on many levels.

How Lightspeed will help improve your business.
It's been great, I recommend others to use it. I haven't looked back. No system is perfect but what sets Lightspeed apart is the willingness of the company to gather feedback and look to continuously improve their product.

The best pos software
Great experience overall.
Avantages
saves a lot of time, compared to a Maitre D and others. When I hire new staff they are ready to operate alone after half a day of training. Easy to set up menu, self explanatory. Easy to desing and customise your screen with your kind of operation, (I do table service and grab and go) Great updates, the sofware is getting smarter every couple of months. No heavy backstores and no crashes in 2 years. Custumer service is quik and efficient (called them only once in 2 years)

Very happy. Customer service is excellent. Wait times are minimal when help is needed. Inexpensive, easy, and fully integrated with Moneris.

Bill splitting can be a little more intuitive. Would not let me edit labour hours once uploaded to cloud which I found weird. Some type of emergency offline back-up would be helpful as well.

Great for restaurants
Overall I have always enjoyed using Lightspeed. From the UI to customer support, I have always had positive experiences.
Avantages
I love how easy setting up the system was, as well as training are staff how to use it was very simple.
Inconvénients
One thing to improve would be the communication between order ahead and the POS so you can set inventory levels on products and have it subtracted from both sites.

My Lightspeed Experience
Avantages
1. They have a fast support response team. They won't have an answer for your problem but they will pick up your call.
2.Lightspeed is a good price point for their software. You can have 7 iPads with lightspeed but only pay for 5 systems. This is great if you need to accept payment in different parts of your store. Downside is you can only be using lightspeed on 5 devices at a time but thats fine, you usually never do.
3.They are constantly updating their software, better or worse. I know they are listening and trying to update the software asap.
4.Its iPad based, if you need to switch to another IPAD based POS its easy.
5.The interface on the iPad for ringing customers up is intuitive. If you set up your categories correctly and color coordinate and place your items strategically, light speed is very easy to use and it doesn’t require much training for younger staff.
Would be great only for small stores, Any store that has tons of customer rushes or restaurants should stay away.

I was really impressed with the functionality and ease of use of the system.
We started using the software at a time when very few people were using apps to take restaurant orders. It was revolutionary for our market and soon many followed the trend.
Avantages
It was a revolutionary tool for us in South Africa when we first started using the system in our restaurant in 2013. It eliminated errors in orders by the waitrons as orders were taken immediately at the table as opposed to the waitron memorising the order and punching it into the system. It also assisted in getting dishes to the patrons much faster as orders went directly to the kitchen with little delay. The stock functionality was also very useful to us.
Inconvénients
Based in South Africa and the exchange rate being extremely volatile at the time, the monthly premium was sometimes quite expensive.

Lightspeed at the speed of light!
We have had a great experience with Lightspeed. It gives us the reports that we need to run the business efficiently. The waitstaff can easily take orders and payments without any problems.
Avantages
Easy setup with great support from staff. Great reporting capability. Easy to set up users, products, etc. Great support staff who will help with any and all issues at any time. Can handle almost any need that a restaurant has.
Inconvénients
Longer learning curve than some other systems but with practice is becomes easy to use.

Worst POS experience ever
We used the POS system to complete simple retail transactions. I can not recommend for anybody to use this system in retail.
Avantages
I have nothing good to report about this POS system. We recently used this POS for a festival and the system, system support and ease of use was so disastrous that every single trader was unhappy with the system. We have done many festivals, used many different POS systems, but this system was clunky, it took 11 push button steps to complete a transaction and the support on site was literally non-existent. As a consequence, the customers had to wait, and we had to spend valuable time looking at the entries of the system rather than interacting with the customers. At the festival we lost opportunities to talk about our product and we lost sales.
Inconvénients
The system is clunky, unfriendly to use in a mobile setting and not in touch with customer service.

Lightspeed (aka Snail Speed)
Upon, attending the NRA in Chicago, we thought we found an awesome new POS system for our bistro. We were expecting that we would run our operation more efficiently than we have in the past, but Lightspeed is really not restaurant friendly. The system is so cumbersome and simple operations are very time consuming (our operation, like all restaurants, needs fast and easy transactions).
Most upsetting is that we were misled in many ways by the Lightspeed sales rep. Upon giving the rep our list of requirements we were told the system is fully capable.
Currently, we are unable to manually process credit cards although the Rep assured us that they work with our processor, Vantiv/Mercury. We were also told our printers would work with the POS system, but after install, we soon realized that none of our printers were compatible and we had to order another equipment which cost us a lot.
Lightspeed does not appear to have been written by someone in the restaurant industry as there are certain functions that are common in our industry that is not available. Or if they are available they are so out of wack and really clumsy. If you think you might want this system, here is a list of functions you might want to try before buying:
Voids and Discounts, Splitting guest checks, BOH reporting (specifically End of Day, Cashout reporting, if you are going to use registers), Barista’s claiming tips, To-Go module or fast transaction module (almost laughable as nothing this system does is fast).
I urge you not to make the system mistake as I did and look elsewhere. If you have a restaurant think twice, and anything you choose DEMO, DEMO, DEMO.
If you do settle on Lightspeed, I would get all of your requirements or a list of things your rep has told you the system will do in writing and get a contract signed because they are probably misleading you just as I was.
Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere (Revel, Touchbistro, RM POS, Aloha, Micros)

Lightspeed POS Review
The greatest aspect of Lightspeed has to be their customer service. I've made probably 30 calls over the past 4 years and have always dealt with people who could solve my problems fast and effieciently!
Avantages
The Lightspeed software is very easy to learn. I'm not very tech savvy at all, but after a week or two I felt very comfortable with almost all aspects of the program.
Inconvénients
The only negative would be, I live in Newfoundland, we have lots of storms and the power goes out frequently. I do sometimes have to call after outages to sync my ipad with my receipt printer. This probably happens with all POS systems, I've just only ever used lightspeed for my business.

POS for small restaurant cafe
Avantages
It is easy to modify the menu on the fly from your smart phone. Reports are top notch and easy to understand. User management is easy and efficient.
Inconvénients
There are no major cons for this POS as we use it.

Perfect for our small bistro
We've started our business, almost 2 years ago.Opening a restaurant was far more complex than anticipated. It was a new experience for us. In the food industry everything goes so fast. We are glad that we chose Lightspeed POS for restaurant. It suits our needs and is user friendly.
Avantages
The software is easy to use. At the beginning we use quite a lot the technical support and always received a great service. Our employees quickly learned how to use the system and enjoy how efficient it is.
Employee time tracking is also very easy; they punch directly on the ipad. No more waste of time compiling timesheets.
Inconvénients
When we started using the software, it was hard to go back to a bill and add an item if one of the other customer sitting at the same table had already paid. The problem have been addressed.

At the speed of light!
Avantages
Fast, efficient and reliable software for restaurants. Cost effective and bug free for the last 4 years
Inconvénients
Occasionally updates can take a few minutes to load but nothing serious
