Extremely happy with Leap software

over all experience with Leap is very positive.

Avantages

software is easy to use, all staff are ale to access a matter and work in real time. During the pandemic and not having immediate access to files the software enabled fee earners to continue working with ease throughout this time.

Inconvénients

Online support is sometimes difficult, a direct contact number for the tech team would be better.

A Mostly Positive Experience

We purchased Leap during a period of growth the help manage the increased demands of the business. It has not let us down. It has totally changed how I run the business, being able to delegate much more to members of my team. I have no doubt that it has helped with productivity, profitability and client management. On the whole it has been a positive experience although there are lessons to be learned from the feedback given above.

Avantages

Case management is very good, particularly when used alongside Workflows. The accountancy element and reports have made it infinitely easier for me to keep track of finances as the business has grown. On the whole there is good customer service and the community/university are very useful.

Inconvénients

The updates seem to routinely remove features that work or make unnecessary changes that worsen the experience of using Leap. Case in point is on previous versions, you could input an address on a card by searching the postcode. This was removed in the latest update.

Client feedback on LawConnect is that it is temperamental and there have been issues with links not being received.

InfoTrack integration is useful but the added costs are far too high and their sales team have been pestering me for the last two years!

I have had a couple of occasions where the customer services have not been able to resolve my issues and have been quite rude in their responses.

Great Product to use for keeping office organized

LEAP - The right choice for SMB

LEAP is pretty much in a league of its own. There are other products trying to catch up and reach the same levels, but ultimately there isn't anything else comparable.

Avantages

Being true Software as a Service, it is agile and aids real business continuity.
Adding users, even from different locations is not a problem. With just an internet connection required to access the software.

Inconvénients

There is some functionality that could be improved around efficient accounting for the actual accounts team.
There are numerous reports that can be run, but you either have full access or no access, which is a real shame, with some reports being great and useful, others need some attention to improve to the same level.

Leap, Quick Books - a win, win

Overall transition was good, good support during and after, easy to get someone to correspond with about your concern or problem, and they stay with you until you are satisfied. Both attorneys and accounting seem to be satisfied with this program, ease of use mostly. Day in, day out use with very few issues in general, and any issues are addressed promptly.

Avantages

Everyone can see everything with just a click or two, very transparent. Easy to use on a daily basis for the attorneys and the accounting people.

Inconvénients

Some of the reporting can be improved, but the quality of the reports available are good, just came up short in some areas.

Fantastic software

We have been using Leap for over two years and have been very impressed with its features. It takes care of our needs in our law firm and is super easy to use. The customer support is fantastic. This was our first time using a case management software and we love that everything is all in one place.

Avantages

I love the one software for all of needs of our firm. The software is easy to use. If there is ever a question, the support is outstanding. The chat is so easy to use, everyone is so professional, patient and friendly and know their stuff. This was our first time using a case management software and we love that everything is all in one place.

Inconvénients

My only complaint with the software are the interest invoices. It's confusing. I would prefer being able to bill the interest on one invoice only.

Helpful tool to be able to access cases on the go.

Avantages

The ability to view documents from remote locations and automatic time saving when creating a document.

Inconvénients

Some of the templates are unnecessarily cumbersome to use and can take a while to load. The updates for each template that I open seems unnecessary as well. A single update each day or week would be more appropriate.

Almonacy Law Firm

i love LEAP. makes my life easier as a solo practitioner.

Avantages

all in one is very important to me as i am a solo/general practitioner. it was easy to integrate the other software i used for different fields of law into one: LEAP. transition was easy as well.

Inconvénients

Calendar: at times i cannot change the appointment date and time and a few other nicks

good product - decent support

Overall LEAP is a fantastic product and when lockdown happened we were able to continue to work uninterrupted.

Avantages

We looked at a number of different Case management Systems before settling on LEAP. It is a great product . The mobile app version is fantastic which has the ability to drop documents and pictures on the go into files.
the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
[SENSITIVE CONTENT] was our initial contact provided us with training and guidance and he was great.

Inconvénients

The webchat is good so you can get instant contact with the helpdesk. More than often they can resolve it there and then. If they aren't able to solve it there and then sometimes at busy periods call back time can be a few hours.
There is a particular issue re forwarding previous emails within LEAP which creates an error message. However LEAP are aware and are working on resolving it.
Perhaps some more follow up training would be good.

Leap

Avantages

When we made the decision to move to Leap in 2019 it was a daunting prospect transferring all of our data and retraining people but were put in touch with a project manager who guided us through the whole process. We are now into year 2 of using Leap and as consultancy firm it is important to us that our solicitors can work from wherever they choose, Leap allows us to do that, it's really changed the way that we work. The system is intuitive to use and Leap are very good at updating features and have a stack of helpful information/articles on their knowledge pages, I also love the live chat function meaning the majority of the time you can get an answer instantly from someone if you do have a problem. I'm not sure how we managed without it, having all of our documentation in one place, and the integrations with Infotrack have made our lives so much easier, especially with the new onboarding/AML tools via Ecos.

Inconvénients

At first we found producing fixed fee invoices challenging but that was updated and improved shortly after we moved over to Leap and we have had no issues since.

Case Management Simplified

I really like LEAP, as far as I can use it. I feel that I would like to have some proper training on the system so I could understand and use LEAP to its full capacity . I am sure there are many things we could do on LEAP that I am not aware of.

I don't like the fact that I can't speak to an Agent instantly if I have any issues, although [Sensitive Content ] our Account Manager, has assured me that if there are really urgent issues, I could contact him.

Avantages

The Accounting package is really useful to help keep track of expenditure on all clients' matters and that the most up to date status of a matter can be identified.

Inconvénients

I would like to be able to tailor some reports to have all the information I need on one document. I have used previous software packages where you can select exactly the columns you need.

Fantastic Case Management System

It enables us to streamline all our cases, time management and billing.

From the outset I have found everything about Leap to be incredibly user friendly

Inconvénients

Some of the bolt-ons look attractive but would increase our monthly expenditure beyond budget.

Would switch back to PCLAW in a second

It has been a very hard transition - It is not for our type of law firm - billing is even more difficult and takes way more time than it should. too many steps

Avantages

Honestly nothing - It does not work for law firms that have a practice that involves - pi, criminal, and class action cases

Horizon Law Review

Although Leap is not perfect, in comparison to other case management systems it comes pretty close - so much easier to use and not over complicated.

Avantages

Very intuitive, user friendly, layout is easy on the eye, entering information is not too repetitive, easy to find your way around when first time user.

Inconvénients

Accountancy side of things can be confusing when going from old case management system to Leap, the "financial summary" tab could do with being slightly clearer.

Documents in Outlook cannot be saved directly onto a client card, they can only be saved in the matter.

You cannot copy and paste or drag and drop into Leap.

We love LEAP

We could not have maintained our high level of service throughout the pandemic without LEAP.

Avantages

LEAP is an incredibly intuitive product; it saves us a huge amount of time.

The system is regularly updated, we love that LEAP reinvest into their product. The support is also brilliant, LEAP regularly contact us and are always there is we need them.

Also, the integration is seamless with other products such as Infotrack and Perfect Portal.

Inconvénients

We had a few hiccups with the accounts integration, but these were resolved with the help of LEAP and Xero.

New to Leap Love all the features

I am still learning so much and every day I feel like there are new features to make my job easier.

Avantages

I love the features that you can integrate with Leap.

Inconvénients

I do not like that you cannot tab around all fields, the enter buttons on my keyboard both do two different things in some places, having to print a deposit slip prior to getting the payments over to QuickBooks.

Great Case Management Product

Every member of staff can access any matter at any time and work can be done in real time. Each fee earner can keep tabs on their matters and with the integration of Outlook with Leap file reviews can be properly managed.

Avantages

My firm moved over to Leap from another case management system in 2016 and since 2020 have become fully digitised. The general ease of use of Leap has made the transition very successful. The ability to quick view documents, correspondence etc. without having to open the item fully makes reviewing a matter a simplified affair.

Inconvénients

Changes to features one has grown accustomed to can be annonying eg. the firm used to enter criticial information in the Client Details tab so that anyone accessing the matter would immediately see what the current position was, however, recently if any information is entered into that tab then a default message comes up saying "Open for More Information" so that you have to then open it to access said information. This has been raised with the technical department but has not yet been resolved.

Awful for billing and invoicing

Awful. If I had the administrative power to get another software for case management, I totally would.

Avantages

The layout and look of individual cases. That is about it.

Inconvénients

1) that I can't add more than one attorney (some cases have multiple defendants, thus different attorneys)
2) the billing and invoice features are very difficult to understand and use
3) That i cannot properly change /update case status- not enough varied features for the different stages of litigations.
4) searching for documents in a case file is tedious and isn't always accurate

A year in and not looking back

A very positive experience. Time saving. Easy to use.

Avantages

The software is very easy to use to the point that new starters can access online documents on how to use the product and be able to use the same without any direct training. The software saves a lot of time compared to our old case management system with features such as time recording and bill generation.

Inconvénients

The online support is not always the best - often better if you can speak to someone direct rather than having to write via chat which is not always easy to communicate the issue.

Excellent case management system

Fantastic- we have been pleased with LEAP from day one and they continue to improve the service that they can offer with additional features and add on's. The Best Practice certifications are also a great way to monitor standards.

Avantages

We have been using LEAP for over 3 years now- the software is easy to use, flexible and is constantly improving. The system works particularly well for conveyancing but we use it across the board on all matters. Integration with existing processes works well and the management/compliance side is also of value.

Inconvénients

Any issues are quickly resolved via customer support- i cannot think of anything that we would want to change

Very good overall with some issues

Overall very good for a solo or small firm, but some quirky features re: email and attachments add time and make the product less efficient

Avantages

Clietn and document organizations seamless and easy. Love that can access documents from phone using app.

Inconvénients

Emailing attachments from leap very difficult to do.

Ease of use

I implemented using LEAP shortly before COVID19 began, which was lucky. Given that my staff worked from home, the ease of use really helped.

Avantages

I liked that I was able to learn how to use various functions of LEAP in a short period of time. While I am still learning how to use all of its functions, it is not difficult.

Inconvénients

Still learning how to integrate all of my existing forms into the program

LEAP with an Apple MacBook Air

My renewal of this contract was appalling. I was told that I could use my iCloud emails so that is why I renewed so that I could just manage one email. The LEAP consultant told me I could use IMAP. This is not the case. I have tried to cancel my contract and they will only cancel my contract if I pay out the full 3 year contract renewal.

Avantages

Consider it very carefully if you use a MAC.

Inconvénients

They should be clear that iCloud emails are not supported. They tell me it is ok but no one can help me and I am meant to pay out a 3 year contract and manage two emails. See the assistance that has taken 6 months for me to receive........
With regards to the first point being virtual box, to utilise LEAP with the Mac environment you will have to go through Virtual Box or Parallels Desktop as they are the best way to go. If you wish to use a Windows environment only, then a program such as BootCamp would be more suitable (this is also technically better on a performance base). With regards to the icloud email, I have been doing some research on this for you. There is a way to add it to the outlook program that is quite manual and does look like your IT Consultant attempted this for you with no success. Additionally, on more research I see that icloud utilises an IMAP process not POP3. Unfortunately, IMAP is not supported with LEAP and there will be issues connecting this to LEAP.
Not much use to run a business!

Leap Review

Very good. It is a great software system that helps me with my work on a daily basis.

Avantages

Customer Support is excellent from [SENSITIVE CONTENT]. Very good support from other members of the team too.

Inconvénients

Difficulty in integrating outlook and word sometimes but this is improving.

Leap Review by DF Legal

From the implementation in 2018 right through to today, we've had excellent support and any queries we've had have been answered promptly. I would recommend Leap time and again as I'm always impressed with the constant improvements to the end user experience.

Avantages

Leap has thought of everything, and is constantly improving, with great "university" tools for new starters, its a product that I can't rate highly enough.

Inconvénients

Its difficult to think of any "cons" on the software, although some of the date input fields are fiddly.

Leap Review

The only reason I still have it is because i have a contract and it's a hassle to find another system and to all the start up again.

Avantages

I don't like this software. There are always problems with its functionality. I get error messages constantly. I have to spend hours on the phone with tech support which makes me not call them and just struggle with the issues.

Inconvénients

There is constantly an error message popping up that something isn't working. It's annoying. YOu have to pay extra for added subscriptions like quickbooks and word which is a couple hundred more dollars that they don't tell you about when you sign up

Best Legal Software Around!

Avantages

LEAP is excellent for automating documents so that you don't have to waste time typing in generic information that is in all your documents and letters. It is excellent to keep all your documents in one place on each matter and if you are in court, the phone app is a must! Making the switch from our outdated practice management software to LEAP was the best decision for our practice!

Inconvénients

If you are a volume practice, invoicing by matter becomes a bit overwhelming, but it's just something you have to get used to. Being that it's cloud based software, you also have to wait some time for documents to load.

Why I do not /have not recomended it to Fellow Lawyers

If we could terminate the licences, get our money back and leave early- We would.

Avantages

Most of it works most of the time. Some of it is quite useful.

Inconvénients

1) Some of its funcitons do not work on some computers. I have 2 up to date high spec Laptops that Leap have tried (but failed) get it to work properly on. And they are unable to say why.
2) Creating and saving forms and precedents in an easy acessed manner is seemingly impossible.
3) We have experienced poor funcionality and it is exceptionally rigid in its operating requirements.
4) No 24 hour /or 7 day support.
5) Expensive, and you are required to pay for 3 YEAR! licences.
6) We do not use the accounting functions as it proved incompatbale with Legal Aid billing. It was also generating VAT errors.

I do not recommend Leap for small business

Extremely poor experience. Leap are more concerned with buck passing and contacts than customers. Save yourself the frustration and avoid them.

Avantages

I have been with leap since about 2011. They have no customer loyalty and are extremely difficult to deal with. Their product is frustrating, expensive and has cost me money in inefficiencies.

Inconvénients

The staff are unethical and ignore countless emails. No access to technical staff. Chat functions do not work.

Review of LEAP

We are getting paid more which is the goal. I am working more efficiently and I am able to set forms, etc. up as I would want them.

Leap Review

Great case management system. If there have been any issues Leap Support is always on hand to quickly resolve the issue.I use Xero Accounting System alongside Leap which is a great feature.

Avantages

Easy to use, works alongside our accounts system and good value for money.

Still very happy after two years

My overall experience with Leap has been positive and all of the people I have worked with at Leap have been tremendously helpful. The software has even gotten better since we signed up so I like that they are always looking to make improvements.

Avantages

Having all documents, emails, time entry, billing, IOLTA funds all in one place when looking at a client. I no longer have to jump around to multiple places to get the full picture on a client. I would pick this software again any day.

Inconvénients

My only complaint is that I wish we had a better way to tailor the fields in a bill to our needs.

We have used Leap for nearly six years and we are very glad that we chose Leap. The system is easy to use, we have had a number of new starters over those years and all have integrated relatively smoothly. The support from the head office is great and the response to a problem is usually really quick – and they have resolved all queries patiently. Even if the problem turns out to be your own fault.

Leap do spend time improving the system, and each time there is an update there is usually at least one thing that really helps your day go better. Leap are happy to listen to ideas from clients to improve it, and if they think it beneficial and useful to lots of clients will roll it out across the system

Excellent and well designed Software

The implementation and training was very easy and handled extremely well and we very soon pciked up the system from previously using manual typewriters! Such a clever system that is very intuitive and LEAP continually seek feedback in order to improve their product and seek new ways to assist law firms in practicing law and doing so profitably

Avantages

The software is designed perfectly for the small to medium sized firms. Where some systems have so many bells and whistles it can become mindboggling and unwieldy as a system, LEAP has been designed to give you the best and most important bells and whistles you need to practice

Inconvénients

You can tell how much development and design time is going into the new products and apps that are coming out with the LEAP software. At the moment there are a few that need tweeking but there is very little not to like about LEAP

Leap review

I find LEAP relatively easy to use and to work out how to use certain features can be straight forward. Other users within the firm struggle with usage beyond the basic's. We use Leap all day everyday for a number of tasks and find everything works smoothly. I don't believe we use LEAP to its full potential.

Avantages

We have used LEAP for a number of years now and everything runs very smoothly. Archiving and accounts as especially useful. Management reports and Office reports are great. Invoice Management is another great aspect of leap and easy to use. Recording time and fee's also a plus and easy to do

Inconvénients

Leap is difficult to tidy up - Client cards are often duplicated and its difficult to sort through and clean up.
Importing fields into document precedents is also over complicated and difficult to use.
it would be nice if some sort of training manual was always available on LEAP as a matter and continually updated.

not as promised .

I am unhappy with LEAP - it is far too expensive for the rather BASIC functionality.

Lack of customization options for invoices with direct payment
Awful app - very few mobile options
Forms are not easily customizable and are literally just copy/pasted from court website.... except the court websites are easier to use
Difficulty with applying payments, etc.

Complete package to run a business - any size business.

Avantages

The ability to save external emails and documents from other folders to a client's file. Everything is practically in one place and everything can be tracked. Notes can be pinned etc. And remote access of this software.

Inconvénients

Sometimes it opens with an error on a word document. We have to let it process before we continue.

Leap Software Review

The support from Leap is brilliant - They help almost immediately with any concerns or techy issues. Leap are constantly wanting to improve their service and updates are regular.

Avantages

It is great that all staff can pick up a file and see what is happening. From the receptionist to the fee earners.
The reports are very good.

Inconvénients

The accounts took a while to understand as they are double accountancy. Lawbyte was a lot clearer to understand.

LEAP Operational Review

Working for Pennine Law, a legal firm in Barnsley, I was introduced to a case/file management system in LEAP That is absolutely amazing in so many respects. The ease of use, the system mechanics and dynamics that allow you to fully manage documents and data, the fluidity in its approach that feeds into self-generated forms and precedents, the financial links and client ledger, its varied communication streams that identify job transparency throughout its use and finally the quality analysis and reporting tools that clearly aid management…. On top of all this, the back office support that’s available from key account management, technical support and web based education all amount to LEAP being one of the best systems that I’ve used. Unhappy customer

NONE. In addition, loading LEAP on our computers has slowed their functionality and the attorneys hate it!

Nothing. I've been in this business over 45 years. Most difficult software I have ever used

Inconvénients

Your "support" and I use that term loosely, is horrific. There is only one "consultant" who ever knows how to fix anything. Unless I get that guy, it's pretty much over. Consultants are obviously talking to 3 and 4 people at the same time they are "chatting" with me and it takes forever for them to respond. God forbid it has to go to a higher authority. It takes days to get anyone to call back.

Transition team is absolutely useless

The transition team is absolutely horrible. You can ask what to expect but they do jot communicate clearly and most of their answers are I don’t know. Expect that it will be two to three weeks after they capture your data before they actually upload it or are able to make your templates.

The initial training is arranged for someone with an IQ Of about three. click on the button that says open matter to open a new matter. That is literally five to ten minutes of a trainer talking. If you ask how to link your word documents to Leap the trainer won’t know and then takes a month to get a response back to you. If you call tech support expect about the same level of knowledge. The templates are also incomplete. They have templates for adoption in Florida but not Oregon and once again no one can tell you how to make a custom template, even though the fields are there for Florida documents because you are in a different state you can’t use them in your template.

Very good system

The monthly submission to the LAA is very easy to do

Avantages

We moved to Leap from DPS almost 3 years ago. We have found LEAP to be a very user-friendly system which can be easily accessed remotely which has allowed us to operate a paperless office.

Inconvénients

The system cannot easily produce reports to show LAA compliance hours and the helpdesk are slow to respond, but an excellent and very helpful account manager more than makes up for either of these issues. I do feel that i don't get the full benefits of the system and it would be great if they put on refresher training courses.

An organizational dream!

Staying organized and communicating with clients via email while importing the documents needed- excellent.

Avantages

Document management is what I use most in my position! Love the features of updating them in leap. Multiple people updating/sharing them in one place (no emailing back and forth with changes)- updates in real-time, keeps me super organized.

Inconvénients

Nothing. I'm happy with all of the features that I use daily for my position.

LEAP is invaluable

General overall experience is a very positive one, and they have great customer service.

Avantages

The software is comprehensive and fairly easy to use, but at the same time being powerful and incredibly useful. The interface and ease of use is very important.

Inconvénients

There are some clumsy aspects of the software that need improving, such as bank details missing on the office account payment slips.

Great System Overall

I can access the system from anywhere. It is easy to navigate and stay organized.

Inconvénients

The billing from the APP tends to no sync up with the desktop system. Also, when scheduling a task/appointment, only the creator to edit it.

System/Functions review

I like that LEAP is user friendly, I think trying to get in touch with help desk takes to long for a response. Our firm doesn't have a huge amount of technical IT experience and needs to speak with humans rather than bots.

Avantages

There were a number of processes that I wanted simplified and during a monthly system review my account manager, [SENSITIVE CONTENT] was able to assist me with and direct me to places within the LEAP university syllabus that could help. Now I have been able to create automated processes that will be included on various new files on multiple practice areas, should save at least 35-45 mins on each file.

Inconvénients

Sometimes the upgrades have created issues with microsoft integrations.
I think user permissions could should have more options.
