In the past, I have been a SugarCRM administrator for a Software Sales company.
The software itself was a great place to house my data in an organized fashion. I was able to report upon the data, and additionally could assign and reassign accounts and contacts with ease. This was a value driven solution for my company at the time, since Salesforce was too pricey.
Avantages
There is a lot of simplicity with using SugarCRM. It was straightforward, and user friendly. The value of the product is pretty good for what you are paying, and it is relatively easy to administer. There are different directions you can go with reporting, for example: tabular, summary and matrix report types. I integrated this CRM with Pardot Marketing Automation software and was not disappointed with the integration, as it worked pretty seamlessly together.
Inconvénients
This CRM obviously is more economic than the likes of Salesforce - but you get what you pay for. I found it difficult to manage my duplicate records, and a lot of the bells and whistles that could potentially make your work flow easier are not present. I would consider this a "bare bones" CRM solution.

The Pros and Cons of Sugar
Overall, I really enjoyed Sugar and think it would be a great fit (especially for the lower price point!) for marketing and advertising agencies that are looking to build out custom flows. Their customer care team was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, and I really enjoyed working with them.
Avantages
The SugarCRM team was incredibly helpful and supportive during our decision between various CRMs we were testing out, namely Salesforce and SugarCRM. They were flexible, accommodating and had amazing customer service throughout the process, even willing to develop new APIs to integrate with our proprietary billing system 90% of our clients were on. I really enjoyed the visuals of Sugar - as all the bells and whistles were there, but it didn't seem overwhelming (as Salesforce can) and it's geared more towards marking service teams, like my division of the business. I also really find the dashboard visuals to be superior to Salesforce. Overall, the price point was better than Salesforce, too.
Inconvénients
Since Sugar is geared towards marketing and sales teams, it wasn't a great fit for the other teams within our organization (i.e. one-time products like printing, etc.). Though workflows are cleaner and more intuitive than Salesforce, there wasn't quite as many bells and whistles (i.e. it was difficult to build in processes that involved external teams that we outsource to).

We didn't - we ended up choosing Salesforce over Sugar, simply due to the fact that we had to incorporate other areas of the business already in Salesforce and ultimately they were able to provide all the necessary features. Sugar CRM. Pretty sweet, but it wasn't always like that!
Avantages
When you learn it, it IS great software. Sugar is of course different than other CRMs because they each have their own 'flavor' and style. Over the past few years, they have really gotten their act together.. better support, better website, better user interface. If you get a demo and it feels right and easy to adopt, you can't go wrong.
Inconvénients
In my opinion, Sugar was overpriced as of the last time we looked at it, tested it for a few months, but decided to go another direction. I got the feeling of 'it's our way or the highway'. And I know plenty of people use Sugar and it works well, but it wasn't for us.
At the time, Sugar had a Community Edition (free) that you could host on your own LAMP stack... but they wanted to make more money, so they stopped development of that edition, and now it's dead.
Now it's all paid subscriptions, like pretty much everything these days, and they have the plans set up so if you need just one extra feature, you have to upgrade to a higher tier, which costs significantly more money.

SugarCRM not to be trusted
Not a good experience from my side personally. We went into partnership through Sugar for our CRM
The Project was sent in its entirety to Fellow Consulting the so called Elite Partner before anything started for accurate examination and projected costs. Its now April 2018 ,11 months later we cannot present the CRM to staff for implementation.
We managed in December to get Sugar Technical experts to look at the situation and to the work of Fellow Consulting and this raised more questions than answers as to why Fellow did what they did.
I begged SugarCRM to assist but all to no effect and now we go to Court. The attitude from one of the rep was one of complete indifference to whether we went legal. I am not big enough for this to worry SugarCRM in any way. The CEO sent me a email that he was concerned about our experience and that I should contact him, I did but never got an answer.
We have now started with a New Company for our CRM needs and going to Court with Fellow Consulting and SugarCRM. I wish this was not necessary as there are no real winners in such cases but currently I have nothing to lose. I hope that justice will eventually be done as there is no other way with these Companies from my experience.
Avantages
I learned a lot about Contracts and the do' and dont's about what to look for with contracts of this nature, SugarCrm leave themselves no a position of being very hard to touch regardless to what they do to you.
Inconvénients
we have existed as a Company since Jan 2010 and always made money. Since putting our Trust in Sugarcarm we lost a lot of money, as we had no CRM to work with.

SugarCRM is an incredible item that covers the CRM requirements for most associations, huge or little.
Avantages

Some of the time, I can't login to different devices PCs which are downside for me. Otherwise it works excellent.

Vote is out on this software
We tried using this for months to track a specific product line and to manage our leads and contact information. That product line went away and so did the regular use of this product. We have it as a "back up" for our next test product line, but I'm not sure this is the best choice for us.
Avantages
I got the software because it was free. That's always a good thing. At first glance, it seemed like it would be easy to use and an inexpensive fix to a client tracking problem in a new division.
Inconvénients
Difficult to navigate and figure out how it worked. There was no customer service to call on and google searches for fixes proved fruitless. (this may be because we had the free version but if you want to sell me on a product and get me to upgrade, I need to be able to use it)

SugarCRM Review
Overall I really liked SugarCRM, especially now that I've had some more time to use some of their competing CRM software vendors.
Avantages
I like that SugarCRM has an attachment to Outlook that allows you to archive email directly to a support ticket.
Inconvénients
Since SugarCRM is such a robust software, some of it can be quite cumbersome in setting up. It is a highly detailed software.

there are certain base cases that allow this to work "out of the box" and the eco-system that has been built around it is somewhat robust
Inconvénients
if you need a "real" crm -- don't take the cheap way out...this is your business. invest in something more robust and contemporary

Good and efficient tool
Avantages
Ability to filter information and automatize actions for contacting customers - arranged in a way you can easily scan the info quickly.
Inconvénients
Not many things I didn't like - more filters and functionalities can always be added which helps the user.

Sugar is SWEET! (See what I did there!)
Use Sugar CRM to keep track of client records for 30-40 clients.
Avantages
Super easy to set up program. Does a great job at keeping up with client information and tracking history of interactions.
Inconvénients
The videos for training were helpful but oftentimes it appeared that they were for much larger companies than our small 10-20 employee organization.

An excellent starter CRM
Avantages
We really appreciate the functionality and all the plugins that are available for sugar CRM. In our testing and implementation, there is nearly nothing which SugarCRM is unable to do. Dream it, do it!
Inconvénients
However, the broad range of customization available with sugar CRM can be a downside as well, resulting in additional plugins which can add to the cost to use it monthly. It would be nice if the developers baked all the functionality into the same product.

In Skilled Hands...
There was a little bit of hassle in working with the API, but considerably less than others I've tangled with. On the overall it was positive. The deployment required not installing, but also teaching (while also learning), about the software.
Avantages
CRM is gold. This goes for any CRM solution. SugarCRM is easy to use and easy to build on. You can also use it with a mobile device or integrate it with Outlook. It's open source and it has plenty of options, so it's great for international teams. It's also a fraction of the cost of all similar packages I'm aware of.
Inconvénients
Some of non-technical folks needed a lot of help figuring out how to import and export data. They also had some issues with it occasionally freezing. This was only shortly after Sugar was released, so my guess is those bugs have been mended.

Reports and Tracking
Charity events, tracking of employees, and information to process payments.
Avantages
There are many of reasons why I enjoyed working with SugarCRM. The most enjoyable feature was the ability to input data, save the feature as an report and name it. The ability to continue to work on the same report and print it if necessary without inputting the data every time. It also allows you to add more modules to your report allowing the input of more data and having multiple reports for users. Also, but not limited to the email blast that could be done.
Inconvénients
What I needed SugarCRM, I did not have a least like of this software. It gave me what I needed when I needed it.

Worst CRM Ever Used
Avantages
Nothing. Absolutely nothing. It was a huge waste of money.
Inconvénients
We didn't like anything about this CRM software. It wasn't as customizable as they made it sound, it constantly crashed, constantly had errors, and it was the biggest waste of time. I do not recommend anyone use this.

An ok resource if you are low budget
It is a suitable CRM if you don’t have strong requirements
Avantages
The dashboard is pretty comprehensive and allows to immediately discover all the main functions. Fields can be easily customized
Inconvénients
It is not the most user-friendly software available – other CRMs are a lot more intuitive. You have to invest quite some time to understand how it works

A very robust (and complex) CRM
Avantages
This is a really powerful suite of tools that is perfectly capable of powering your marketing team.
Inconvénients
Not really a con per se, but you must be aware that this is a complex suite, and has a rather steep learning curve. The proper training really pays off, though.

Swiss army knife of CRM's
Avantages
Automation & Efficiency, Data Insight and Collaboration it has it all. And it works well too. Also there was a fix to add the company emails too . It was a charm.
Inconvénients
Its too damn complicated to set up if you are going the self-hosted route. Always go for hosted.

After trying to set this tool up several times, we abandoned it as too complicated and time consuming

Avantages
Easy of cloud setup, and hands off functionality. The fact I don't Administrate it on a regular basis.
Inconvénients
When things break in the environment and clearing a cache won't fix the issue we're waiting for a new release to fix the bug.
