The software is flawless, incredibly easy, fast and functional. As a beginner in graphic design I was impressed of all the possibilities and relative easiness of executing them! It's easy to put your ideas to life with Affinity Designer.

Inconvénients

Throughout my use of Affinity Designer I haven't encountered any flaw or something I didn't like. I definitely recommend to try it!

Avantages

The ease of use for creating a vast variety of design projects including concept art, mock ups, logos, and print projects.
The customizable interface and the interaction with the other products (Publisher and Photo).
The interface and commands are simplified and easy to understand compared to competitors.

Inconvénients

It's similar to other products - so much so that the differences can be jarring when encountered.
Some bugs in using the software and it is more resource intensive at rest than other options.

Avantages

Affinity's perpetual licensing is particularly attractive for people coming from Adobe. The software has all of the features you'd want, but is even more intuitive than competing products.

Inconvénients

The app can sometimes take a little while to load up on the first launch on certain devices, presumably due to license checking.

Avantages

I really like being able to move between pixel work and vector work. It's a very fast and fluid piece of software with amazing zoom ability. Another feature I particularly like is the way it uses masks. Making it very quick to add or take things out of the mask. For the price this is a such a great product and even better it's not lumbered with a silly subscription. Basically it does 99% of what InDesign does but for the price of a few weeks InDesign subscription.

Inconvénients

Currently it has two issues for me. One is solvable the other I don't think is. The first one I can get around is drop caps. The solution is a bit clumsy but works. The second one I can't get around, and that's linking text boxes.

Avantages

On touch screen nothing better than affinity. The purchase in one go is an advantage not to spend every month. the use on touch screen allows very beneficial maneuvers

I have no issues with affinity and highly recommend for anyone working with a tablet

Affinity’s products are top notch. Their desktop and iOS versions are both so intuitive and full-featured. With any designer software, the learning curve will take a while. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll have no regrets going with Affinity. One of the best things about Affinity is the affordability.

Inconvénients

There are not a lot of cons to Affinity Designer, or their other programs. It crashes occasionally — make sure to save as you edit if you are dealing with larger files than usual.

Avantages

I like it. After many years of using Adobe products I switched over to Affinity and I am happy with the switch. The transition was pretty painless and I like the interface better. The one time purchase price and a low price at that is a big plus for me over a monthly contract to use adobe stuff. Overall satisfied.

Inconvénients

There are a few areas where there was a fast and easy way to do something with the "other" software that I miss on the Affinity version. There are probably tricks, customizations and work arounds that I just haven't discovered yet though.

The fact that the software was designed for tablets is a good thing. Easy to use and allows very precise handling. Very pleasant software, the one-time fee is very useful

Price. You can't beat a one-time purchase. That is the biggest selling point of this software. I currently subscribe to Adobe CC, and actively looking for ways to switch.

Learning Curve. I can't even begin to talk about the learning curve involved. [Inkscape] has less of a learning curve, and it is free. The Affinity team needs to work on their keyboard shortcuts and improve them.

The software has all the basic features you need in a design tool. Slightly increased learning curve if coming from an all Adobe environment

My least favorite thing was some of the placement and locations of tools and panels. That may be partly due to having used Adobe apps for so many years.

Unlike the competition, offer life time license. Has all the tools I need for editing photos and create art for games.

Maybe like other professional softwares it is difficult for beginners become familiar with all that tools.

Great feature set. Good UI. Does everything I need it to. I switched to Affinity from adobe and the transition was pretty much problem free. In fact I prefer working with the affinity products. I love that I was able to buy it outright for a nominal fee instead of a monthly subscription and cloud based type of thing.

There are some shortcuts and quick key type of functions that I am missing, although I may be able to set them up with some research and custom configuration. The functions are all there but sometimes the flow isn't.

I have used this software to complement my other design applications in a time where I felt compelled to experiment with low cost / high functionality software as an alternative to photo editing softwares like photoshop. Certain features of this app are very similar to photoshop, thus making professional designing much easier to attain pricepoint wise- plus it has features photoshop does not have.

The ease of use is signficantly high, the workflow with it and integrateable asset management is slightly different and there were certain tools and features i use oftentimes in photoshop not really present in Affinity

- considering what you get for how little Affinity Designer costs, it's hard not to at least try it out
- carries over much of the functionality from Photoshop

- coming from Photoshop, the UI takes a while to get used to. Many tools/commands are similar but different
- deciding when to use Designer vs Photo is confusing

Surprisingly, this software packs in most of what Adobe Illustrator has, but without the monthly fees. That is one heck of an offering! Although I still prefer Illustrator, I often recommend Designer to a lot of my student friends that are learning design on a budget. It's a great tool!

Still not quite as good as Adobe. They are getting closer and closer... But haven't yet hit the mark. I've heard they may come out with an iPad app, which would make me think about switching. Stay tuned, I guess!

Avantages

Has reduced my time in two other programs (Photoshop and Illustrator) and is less heavy on system resources. Interface is simple and familiar to those who have used Photoshop. Serif aren't looking to redesign the wheel but offer a faster way of achieving similar results.

Has some limitations when compared to Illustrator but for most users this will be more than enough

Sure, this product has a great potential to be Illustrator worthy. For one, it has a lot of the great features of it's competitor Adobe product, But then you would still need to find another program to complete something that Illustrator does all in one. Yet, Affordable.

Inconvénients

Although they have all the Artboards you need, it won't replace illustrator completely. But I would recommend this product based on the fact it can get some simple designs done for less.

What do I like the most about this gem? Well, everything! The vector design tools are on point and there are so many features that I've still haven't used them all, I like how you can produce and export high quality graphics in a matter of minutes.

I also love the filters that can make your art look 3D, or add instant shadow!

Inconvénients

There's nothing wrong with this software in general, I love it, however, it may be me, but sometimes when I overwhelm it with too many filter effects it shuts down due to error, it could be my laptop.

I love that I can get a full-functioning design software for my Mac without spending a ton of money on Adobe. Affinity is one of the best reviewed and functioning options out there.

It's a learning curve. I've used Pixelmator for a while, and got Affinity Designer for the projects that it's more applicable for, but honestly haven't taken the time to learn how to use it better. Just the learning curve is a con- but that's with any new software.

I am enjoying using affinity designer for doint some work for my school projects. I am currently using the iPad version and it has been wonderful. I was able to start using it quickly, but still there are tons of features that I am not aware of. I am so eager to learn all the features the this app provides.

There is a learning curve to master affinity designer. It would be nice for them to offer in-app tutorials.

I love the toolset that is offered to me at a price that makes complete sense. No longer do I have to pay for a much more expensive graphic design solution to get similar tools. The user interface is design well to fit nicely into the visuals of my Mac. Affinity runs smooth, and is pretty easy to get familiar with. It's similar enough to other design applications where I'm not completely lost, but unique enough to feel different, new, and powerful. I love that I opens vector/eps, Photoshop, and other pro formats. And the formatting of those file types don't get jacked up like it sometimes does when opening with another competing product that I've used in the past.

Inconvénients

Sometimes it's difficult to decide between using Affinity Design or Affinity Photo for a project. For me, and it's probably just the type of project I normally do, I usually end up using Affinity Photo.

Avantages

The ability to import *.AI documents without damage them is undoubtedly one of the most great features that the software has. You can do the same that on Illustrator but in a comfortable budget.

Inconvénients

Even when you can do the same activities than illustrator it's a little bit confusing how it works.
Frequently I have to look for help on video tutorials, because simply I ca't figure out to make some things.

I love the cost of Affinity Designer. A one-off straightforward price. The features are more than adequate for most designers and it competes with the behemoths of Design/Drawing software.

Inconvénients

The only issue for me was the changeover from my other design software. Having to relearn toolbars, shortcuts and menus took a little while, but cost savings overall made it worth the effort.

One of the catchy things About this software, it’s the one time payment that is affordable , and one of the thing that makes it great is that they are consistently improving it . Over it all I love their support on their website and their tutorials on YouTube. The features are easy to use that even a beginner could manipulate it with ease.

Most lovable features would be i don't need to rely on bigger softwares for small jobs as it supports mostly all file types wether its adobe or corel, the ui is modern and likeable and the lightweightness is over the roof its not like others with overwhelming features result in taking too much space this awesome software has it slow and steady and thats what i like about it most.

Not anything in particular but there are few bugs that are being fixed on every updates and only thing missing is i guess smart objects they don't function like in adobe instead they are something i didn't understand till yet so it snot like i hate it but its like i don't know about it at all.

Cost and Function! These two factors blow Adobe Illustrator out of the water. For only 40-50 bucks you can have a fully functioning program with almost all of the same functions as adobe illustrator. A designers dream

Some of the advanced functions of Adobe Illustrator aren't in place yet. Smart function of drawing an outline around a picture is not there yet.

Affinity Designer is a powerful software package used by professional graphic designers. I'm a dabbler with training in graphic design. I bought this software to help me with making graphics for my personal website. I'm sure I don't use it to even half of it's potential, but even for a light user, it works well and is fairly easy to figure out.

There are so many options available, it's probably too powerful for my needs. I don't like having to spend 30 minutes figuring out how to create the shape I want. Overall, I can't complain since I chose the software over some simpler packages that had more limitations.

Although I'm new in creating book covers and images for marketing, I'm falling in love with Affinity. The tutorials are super clear and helpful and the price was fantastic.

Affinity Designer is an inexpensive drop-in replacement for Adobe Illustrator. It works like AI, in fact, even better. What I like most is that is has simple one-line instructions that tell you what actions you can take on the selected objects—it's like a training system.

Affinity Designer is a modern version of what it was Corel Draw, but this time, someone is taking it seriously.
It works on desktop and mobile and you can switch devices in the middle of a job.

As is new, it lacks features. But Im not saying the team is not adding them in a future.
It also needs a bigger online community, I didn’t find speciffic turorials or blogs to comment my experience or ask questions.

This software is much easier to learn than Adobe Illustrator. The Product is also much cheaper. It has less functions than Adobe Illustrator but it doesn't really matter because the most important, most used and trusted functions are there. Because it is easy to use you can get your work done much faster and more efficiently than Adobe Illustrator for example.

It doesn't have as many functions as adobe Illustrator. But great product nonetheless.

Its simple to use, but has a big variety of capabilities. The newest update is more user friendly, the tools are more intuitive.

I wish it had the ability to auto trace a sketch. I use dxf files everyday in my industry but i end up having to redo or export my file into a different software because i cant export or generate a dxf. It would also be nice to have more capability in recognizing features of a sketch as vector lines.
