I like that the software automatically sends text and email reminders -- my customers really appreciate that.

Inconvénients

For the mobile app, it would be great to be able to pull up pending appointments in a list format.

Also, it would be very helpful to be able to overwrite calendar entry data in google calendar instead of using the square app.

No ability to list policies , forms , and no way to have your services categorized.

I loved that I could set up dates/times of availability and allow payments to be made upon scheduling an appointment. Other features I loved were keeping track of your invoices & customers.

The calendar doesn't sync well with Google Calendars, which is what I & my staff use most. Had to manually change the availability times day by day instead of syncing with my current Google Calendar.

I love the ease of use as well as how it connects with my weebly website.

The only thing I am not crazy about is the direct link it gives you to direct people to the scheduling page. It's fine if your sending a link to someone but not so easy when you're wanting to give someone the link in person.

Nothing works. If you import your Google calendar, then the entries are kind of static, you cannot edit them or even read the notes, they do not transfer well and appear in gibberish symbols. Because we log in from different time zones only 1hr apart, all entries appear across two day intervals. I cannot move entries either, they are just stock there. The calendar is not functional at all. There is no calendar in the app either (computer only) so our techs in the field cannot use it.

As with everything Square does, Appointments was simple, easy, and functional. It offers outstanding automated scheduling for many professionals.

There was not enough customizable settings for my industry. I need to limit how many appts I do a day, not necessarily based on specific times. This was not possible with square appointments.

Square is one of the easiest ways to make appointments and keep appointment straight. My staff Is so much more efficient using square appointments.

Service industry- - Once the customer signs and hits accept, they cannot go back to enter a tip.

Most credit card processors, have the option to add the tip after- with square customer must do it before they sign, or you cannot do it

As a small business owner its important for me to take deposits when booking a client. Unfortunately with square appointments you're unable to take deposits so if your client decides to no show you are unable to charge them.

I wish that it was cheaper, I wish that we could control the message better that is sent out to remind someone of their appointment. I also wish Square offered better customer service.

I recently added to my website the new Square Appointments system and I really like it. Who don't want a free appointment system? It's really easy to setup in the Square dashboard, and into the website also with a simple copy/past html code. Customers receive reminders before the meeting, and it's also possible to set a payment online before the event. It really integrate well into Google Cal and Mac Calendar

Inconvénients

There is not many options for the system.
You can't set specific rules like vCita or Calendly can do, but we must not forget that IT'S FREE. Other systems start at 15$US per month.

this is easy to use and you really have the ability to adapt easily to the interface. The Square Appointments app has now been combined with Square POS. You are able to book appointments, send invoices, and use the POS all using one app now! It's definintely streamlined for us busy business owners.

There is an option to create recurring appointments but you can only select it for that day. Ex: Monday for the next X amount of weeks. I haven't been able to set it for MWF for X amount of weeks.

They have built a good system with good support that allows us to easily get and manage online bookings.

There could be some more functionality built out that could allow us to further create other options on our reservation calendar.

I hate having to login with my email and password over and over. I wish there were an app that I could stay logged in or just put in a 4 digit code for security purposes since my clients credit/debit cards could be charged.

My customers hate that they have to put their card number in every time.

It was easy to set up. It was easy to make modifications. It was easy for all the potential clients under the age of 70. It worked with no hiccups.

Occasionally, we had a client who could not use the software and had to call. In every case, they were using Internet Explorer (no telling what version) OR they simply said they preferred to call.

Square Appointments is free if you have one employee on your team. This is a nice feature, but if your organiziation has more than one employee, it might get a little pricey. Once integrated into your website, this software makes it easy to schedule appointments with visitors on your site, inviting visitors to pay for the session ahead of their appointment with you. This can make conversions from leads to sales quite easy.

Inconvénients

However, it took a bit of research to figure out how to integrate the software into the website, so that it looked seamless. Implementation of the software might require a learning curve, depending on how savvy you are with website development.

It definitely has a learning curve on setting the availability for different appointments. When I change availability for one service, the other services also reflected the changes which is not what I wanted. It took me a long time to figure out.

Doesn't integrate with medical EMRs which is unfortunate, this however is not unique to this product as most medical EMRs are very stringent on allowing third party software to integrate and share their database.

It's so easy to use. Almost every feature is intuitive, and whenever I got stuck setting it up there was always a help article that answered my question exactly. If there wasn't a help article, the support chat was amazing. SO easy to organize, and definitely worth it.

I think I tried to set up an automated email or something and I didn't realize that I was able to access that certain feature because we were on a free trial. After the trial ended, the card on file started getting charged extra. That was kind of sneaky.

Being able to embed this tool into my website. The previous scheduler did not provide this convenience. It's easy to use and easy to setup and it doesn't cost our company a dime.

Text and email alerts client 1 day before and 1 hour before appointment.

No alerts of upcoming appointments. Lets you double book your clients without alerting you that it is conflicting with another appointment/event. Scrolling through calendar sucks. Design could be better and more aesthetically pleasing. Not integrated with square payments - you have to ring up the items still.

As an agency who uses Square POS, we have adopted Square Appointments to enable our constituents to schedule their appointments for fire safety inspections and things of that nature. We aren’t allowed to charge our constituents for those inspections, and we DO NOT charge for those inspections, but we still manage to use Square Appointments to allow our constituents to at least schedule their inspections. Since Square Appointments integrates with our POS, we are also able to gather other information that can be useful when deciding what else we can offer our constituents.

Ease of use, flexibility and you can pretty much make it work for most any business... almost. No real issues.

The same caveat with all other softwares is that you can not restrict only certain items to certain times.

The data is easily located and put into chart form. When scheduling appointments it is simple to do so and cancel as well.

There is not much. it would be nice if when scheduling appointments, we were able to see the amount of time that is available instead of only the time allotted for the selected service.

Generate more customers. Pay through app. Collect deposit in case they are a no show. Even create phantom appointments to make customers think you are busier than you are!

I used Square before I discovered Acuity which I love . Square is easy to use and it’s good if your appointments aren’t too complicated. For example I used it for nail appointments , but some clients like simple nails other like extravagant and I wasn’t able to manipulate the site to my expectations. Great for other types of business ; some hair appointments, some esthetics, some cleaning services ,
