SendGrid has been doing a great job so far! It was extremely easy to set it all up. It's great to see stats on how many emails were open, how many % of the emails were marked as spam, etc. It's very easy to integrate new email templates, without wasting our engineers time.

Inconvénients

Nothing critical has been noticed. Sometimes we noticed a delay in emails delivery, but that probably relates to high load on SendGrid's servers, and the delay was never enormous, so no big deal for us (so far).

Avantages

It allows our company to send out millions of email campaigns to our customers easily and reliably, it was easy to integrate with their well-documented API.

Inconvénients

The API rate limits slows down our processes to send out campaign emails to over 1 million subscribers, we generally have to process the emails at batches of 1,000 or so.

Avantages

SendGrid helped our organization to save so much time in a number of groups. We used it to send our marketing emails and product updates. We could generate a lot more leads than before. Our customer engagement teams even used it to touchbase with clients at a regular interval. The insights provided really helped fine-tune our marketing strategy

SendGrid was a easy to use software so not many complaints but I do hope they can improve the rate of emails that end up in primary inbox.

Pretty easy to get setup and has been working reliably for several years now to send thousands of emails a day. They fairly recently improved search for troubleshooting undeliverable emails which was a nice improvement.

Inconvénients

As a troubleshooting user, it took some time to get the ins and outs of the interface. But once you get it, it becomes pretty easy to use.

SendGrid started as a primarily backend email client with access to their API. I haven't had much experience with this - I've primarily dealt with their newer front end UI for email marketers. Their templates are improving and I have started using those. I

The email-builder interface isn't super intuitive. It's sometimes of a hassle to find specific activity for one user. Their logic for creating user segments is pretty poor. Definitely lacking on the ability to fully utilize customer data.

My company uses sendgrid to allow our customers to communicate via email through our system, and it is a critical piece of our software that customers could not do without. It is reliable and gets the job done.

We've found that developing around our sendgrid integration can be a little bit cumbersome.

Being able to automate email notifications was a must-have for our product. SendGrid made this easy through the use of templates and easy-to-understand documentation. We have been able to use templates or modify them through the code editor to suit all of our needs.

Like many others, the customer support for SendGrid has been the biggest drawback for me so far. Otherwise, the only other issue has been managing unsubscribes if the user was responding to a message sent to a distribution list or group alias.

Recently, I started a side project and I was looking for a service to send emails from my database. i found some apps but SendGrid caught me. its simplicity, the ease to use, and the clean design made me choose it over others. It is very easy to configure and has support for many programming languages. It literally took me about 10 minutes to configure everything and send my first email.

Everything is ok for now, I've not found anything wrong.

Delivery rates are top-notch and it's straightforward to set up (especially relative to some competitors).

It'd be nice to see the health of the IP addresses that are in use. Knowing that you're close to being blacklisted would be a huge help.

What I love the most about, Sendgrid emails is that they are not spammed when they reach their target's mail box and are always marked as important. Sendgrid offers 100 emails per day on a free plan which is good enough for testing and building prototypes.

Inconvénients

The lowest paid plan starts out at $15 per month which is quite steep for developers starting up who might not need all the 50,000 emails in a month.

Sendgrid really excels at transactional emails. The price is dirt cheap and it allows us to upload custom HTML email templates with ease.

For marketing emails Sendgrid is more than just not great - it's pretty bad. We find campaign monitor much, much better for sending marketing emails. What really holds back sendgrid is the difficulty in segmenting users and also the clunkiness of its email editor. It's definitely built for developers rather than marketers.

Its possibilities are endless, being mainly focused on API integrations but also providing a compelling UI for direct use.

I received an email that email account might have been compromised. I responded to the ticket, and heard no response even after two attempts to reach out and follow up. I ended up having to reach out via Twitter and finally got some support.

Easy to use interface that puts the information we need up front in an easy to use format. We use it primarily to track email disposition...and it does this perfectly.

Overall there were no huge negatives on the software, some "Gotchas" around implementation on CentOS, but they did document it.

This is my goto service for websites that send emails via contact forms etc. The generic mail functions usually provided by CMS software isnt usually great and can generated missed emails etc. However, with SendGrid, you can be sure that emails will go on time and get delivered without hiccups.

It is a little difficult to setup. Their official WordPress plugin hasnt been updated in 2 years. Their documentation is good enough though

Great customer service. We had an issue a while back about email deliverability - it ended up being a provider error but SendGrid took their time to work through the issue with me and give me some suggestions of next steps I could take even though the issue ended up not being on their end. Very impressed.

I wish there was a way SendGrid could "talk" to the email provider a little more in depth. We sometimes have emails that are delivered, but the email provider is actually holding on to them for some reason, usually because it thinks it's spam. But I want to know the full story.

Contact upload is unreliable. I frequently need to upload the csv lists twice in order to successfully upload the contacts to the system.

The thing that I like most about SendGrid is that you can upload your list instantly, they don't ask people to optin to your list which is great, you get a 30 day free access and you can send 40000 emails during that time and add up to 2000 people to your email list.

They have a lot of functions which means a learning curve, you have to set aside some time to learn all that if you wish to use it to its full capacity.

For a beginner, the free plan offers 100 emails/day, which is alright to get started. Besides, SendGrid offers API and Webhooks in all their plans, including the free tier, which is highly appreciated. The setup process is relatively easy, and the email delivery rate is decent. Overall a good tool for email marketers.

I can add all our clients and users into a CSV, and import them into sendgrid. The app also focuses on actually getting your email into the inbox, and actively tries to avoid getting into the spam folder. The metrics are also a nice feature.
